R/R: I hate winter- I hate the short days and lack of light, I hate the cold, I hate the dead- but this winter is bullshit. If its gonna be cold and dead looking, I want some freaking SNOW. At least its pretty and maybe I can call out of work. This 40 degree cold, but not cold enough, shit is awful.

The sound of rain on the roof. My grandma had a lake house we would often go to- it was a log cabin type house with all these sky-lights so when it would rain (as it does in the south every day during the summer between 3 and 5 PM) you would hear the tinkling and it brings me right back. I love it.

R/R: I'm trying hard to not be annoyed by work stuff since I'm looking for a new job anyway, but they just keep doing ridiculous things. The list of stupid was looonnnggg yesterday, but perhaps the most asinine was telling my co-worker she doesn't engage with them enough... Among a long list of other crappy behavior, not one of them contributed to her office gift (*tw she's eight and a half months pregnant /tw*)

GTKY: What sound/smell/image brings you back to your childhood and why?
The smell of fresh grass and trees, and "What a Wonderful World." My grandparents lived on 5 acres and I spent weeks at a time at their house growing up. My grandma and I used to listen to "What a Wonderful World" while I fell asleep. This is making me sad and nostalgic. Can I go back? I want a do over!

My girls dance to music at the studio from my childhood sometimes for warmups or a teacher will bring back an oldie but goodie ( shes my age)...That always brings me back. As for a smell, Angel perfume. My mom used to wear it. She doesn't anymore, but when I smell it, it reminds me of her old bedroom, and snuggling with her watching a movie and eating all the junk food

R/R: 1. I mentioned this in weekly randoms, but my regular OBGYN was in the RE this morning as a patient. I couldn't believe it. It almost made me feel bad that I was going to her about potential IF stuff (even though I know this is her job) but I wonder if that's why she was so willing to help me sooner than 12 months. Just goes to show, you never know what people are going through. 2. CD 3 testing with this morning, and of course they had to use my hand for bloodwork because they can never find my veins! This is always an issue, ugh. But the ultrasound was normal and she said everything looked good.

R/R: Its my day off with DF ! 9:30am one of my clients comes to the door with his dog. He knocked and stayed in our yard for a ridiculous amount of time. I didn't even go to the door because his appointment was DECEMBER 7th !!!!! People are so annoying. Oh well, off to enjoy my day with my love.

My Grandmother always had this baby powder in this hard pink plastic container. It had a different scent. I never smell it but if I think about the smell it takes me back !!!

Rave: My husband's been so so sweet about the whole thing, and I get another day at home to laze around and snuggle my cat. He's so funny and I'm so obsessed with him.
CS/Q: I've looked up a ton of CM stuff and tried to compare it to me but I can't seem to get it right or figure out what's happening with me so I keep not recording it. I saw some of the chatter yesterday about non Zika places and as a Phoenician I'd have to also recommend the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Our "winter" looks to be ending and well be back in the 70s starting next week. There are resorts here that will rival any beach resort.

My grandma's back porch steps. We would sit there and wait for the pool to "open" at 9am and then again after lunch for our obligatory 30 minute wait so you don't drown after eating time. As an adult, Ive come to realize those hold periods were just so she could get stuff done without 6 grandkids in the pool all day every day all summer

I used to spend time at my grandma's in the summer as a kid. I remember how the quiet humid mornings felt and smelled, and how you could hear the birds singing and the owl hoot in the distance. She had a sliding glass door off the kitchen she'd leave open and she'd sit and read the newspaper on the screened-in porch. Now sometimes I'll smell and feel humid summer mornings and I'm brought right back. It's so bittersweet- I smile because I remember.. and at the same time, I'm sad because I miss her (She passed when I was 17).
Also- My dad is a Trekkie. When I was a kid, Star Trek the Next Generation came on around 7 pm. To this day, I still equate the show's opening theme song to dinner time

@kiwi2628 – I’m totally on board with cold should mean snow. I love snow, but I’m missing it this year! The temps are so up and down around here (nearly 60 today). I’m just ready for it to be spring at this point and we can try again next winter.

R/R: I am so optimistic for this cycle. After my last cycle lasting only 26 days, I feel like I’m over the hump of “getting back into rhythm” after BCP. Now that I’m temping and being diligent with my symptom tracking (instead of BSC), I finally feel like I’m in control. This can happen!

GTKY: I have an unhealthy nostalgia attached to Christmas. My mom and I would bake dozens and dozens of cookies that we only make at Christmas. I have these VHS taped TV specials from the 80s that I still watch. There are 2 or 3 specific Christmas CDs (Billy Gilman anyone?) that I have to listen to. Whenever any of those show back up, I feel like a kid again.

@crazypuglady It's so hard to tell with some teas and supplements. The one cycle I drank RRL consistently, I had O 2 days earlier. Didn't drink it last cycle and it went back to my normal CD 13.

@hartmich It so true that we never know other people's stories. I work in an environment with lots of kids and almost all of my co-workers have children. Sometimes, they will make comments like, "if you had kids you would understand." And while there may be some truth to that, I want to say, "F*** it's not like I don't want them." Sorry, end tangent.

Last night, I had some spotting (which has not happened during my LP), so I had a feeling I was out. I also have had terrible cramps and sore boobs (haven't had either leading up to AF for the past 3 cycles). But then I woke up this morning to temp, and it was still above cover line, so I was optimistic. I went to the restroom and....well AF had definitely shown up. What's a bit concerning (TMI) is that there is lots of dark red clotting. I am hoping that's a sign that I will have a heavier, more normal period compared to my past 4 that were very light and only two days, but I don't know.

I am also just bummed because tomorrow should have marked week 10 and I for some reason had the stupid idea that maybe we would be successful in the 2 cycles following my CP. There are a few people I know who are conceived around the same time I did and are hitting milestones I thought I would, and I just feel a little depressed. I know we haven't been trying very long, but I just didn't realize that our TTC journey would start on such a heartbreaking note. But, I am going to try to be optimistic and hope my body is going back to normal with each cycle.

Chlorine, anywhere I smell it, reminds me of swimming and my childhood. We used to spend our summers in California and would go swimming a lot. The smell of pools always makes me happy, even though I don't really enjoy swimming now.

R/R: So I have bad teeth. They're not strong and if I have a cavity, if it isn't fixed in 3 months it irreparable. Last night I bit into a bun (a soft, yummy bun) and one of my teeth shattered. What the heck, teeth? Why must you do that.

R/R: I think I had ovulation pain this morning. My right side had a sharp pain. We DTD last night, so that would be good timing. CS/Q: Nothing. My temps were erratic leading me to believe that I was back to anovulatory cycles but they've straightened out so now I'm hopeful.
GTKY: So many. I am very much a sensory memory kind of person.
Certain tree smells, the sound of cicadas, and certain songs (Spice Girls, You'll Always Be My Baby by Mariah Carrey, anything Boyz II Men and some country songs) put me right back in the house I grew up in.

@hartmich Hey cycle buddy! It's so crazy that your obgyn is an RE patient. I mean, obviously it's not beyond the realm of possibility, but WOW. I'm glad testing is going smoothly so far - aside from the hand poke. Phlebotomists always THINK I have good veins in my arms, but they look better than they are cuz I'm super pale. So, they poke and prod and give me giant bruises on my arms before either being successful with the arm vein, or moving to my hand.

This is a hard one. There are so many. I was born and raised on a farm and still run a farming operation with my husband and his family. So a lot of my smells have to do with being outdoors and working long days and nights on the farm. Nothing particular. I'll have to think about it some more!

R/R: I've been getting so annoyed at DH lately. Last night after I told him I had to order my trigger shot for next week, he said do you think this was the best cycle to buy that with? And me being extremely confused asked what he was talking about, he said you had a short period so it probably won't work. Which is the same thing he said about me not getting my period "on time" which I never get it the same day anyway?? He's really irritating me with this because I feel like he doesn't want me to do it because he's not ready or something even though when I say that he says he is.....sigh

@lulu1180 yes! I felt the same way going into this cycle. Just strangely hopefully even before I started af. I'm trying to hang onto it because I'm sure that hope will dim later down the road in the cycle.
This job man, I've never worked with such psychotic people before... Anyway, I hope you're feeling better soon! Wisdom teeth hurt, no need to feel like a baby!

GTKY: What sound/smell/image brings you back to your childhood and why? This is weird but the sound of crickets. I grew up playing outside in the woods. We made trails and played with our bikes.
I was at least hoping AF would be normal this month, but she doesn't seem to want to cooperate. It's spotty and light so far...really hoping it changes over the next few days to resemble a normal period though (never thought I would be saying that).
One of my employees just informed me she will be starting her maternity leave 14 days earlier than planned. We do not have a replacement lined up for her while she is out. So I will be taking on her responsibilities while she is gone for 12 weeks and now it's 2 weeks earlier than I anticipated. Today, is going really well so far....
@dragonfly87 so sorry for cd 1. I also have been having really light periods *TW* the lightest one I had was after my CP actually end TW* for what it's worth, my doctor wasn't concerned at all about light periods when I asked (mine are only 2 light days and 2 days of spotting) he said there's nothing you can do to make a period heavier. Hoping this cycle is a better one!

this Estée Lauder perfume my grandma wore, she used to come visit from Florida and we would be so surprised to see her and always knew she was hiding downstairs cause we could smell her perfume

@dragonfly87 bodies are wierd. My period has been pretty predictable my entire life, Day one medium flow, day two med-light. day three starts off light than stops or some spotting then spotting day 4&5. last cycle day 1 was super light and then spotting till day 6... I even let the BSC creep in and took a HPT. ofcourse BFN. I don't know that I would stress over the flow so much. bodies are weird.

@cbobell2009 Did I read that right- 5 months and no period? Usually they recommend you see a doctor if you go 60-90 days without a period. I would do that before Vitex. I have heard some sketchy things about it. I think @adirat has some knowledge...
