    1. Why are you high-risk? Type 1 DM, MTHFR

    2. How far along are you? 7+5!

    3. How is treatment going for you? I haven't had ketones since last week, thank goodness. But I woke up at 154. Angry. Can't wait to be yelled at by a MFM.

    4. How are you doing? R/R? Good, actually! First ultrasound on Friday. I'm nervous, and kinda don't want to face it and just pretend everything is still okay.

    5. GTKY: What is your favorite color? Does it describe your personality? Pink!! Like a coral pink. I think it does. Although people may say yellow describes my personality better. I'm happy and girly and give off the innocent impression to everyone.

@Sugargirl1019 sending all sorts of good vibes for your ultrasound on Friday!!!

     1. Why are you high-risk
    Connective tissue disorder, AMA

    2. How far along are you
    7+6 (8 weeks tomorrow!)

    3. How is treatment going for you
I'm still waiting on response from my referrals. The prenatal bloodwork I did looked fine from the tests I was able to see online

    4. How are you doing? R/R
I'm excited but very nervous for my ultrasound on Thursday. I'm telling myself everything is okay but there's the part of me that knows that everything can seem okay and not be okay. I avoid certain threads and topics on here because they shake my confidence too much :/

    5. GTKY: What is your favorite color? Does it describe your personality?
I'd say probably a turquoise/aqua type color...some sort of blue green. I'd say it kind of describes my personality...sort of a dreamer and emotional plus I'm a water sign (Pisces)

    3. How is treatment going for you
Haven't seen MFM yet. Was scheduled to see him on Friday morning at exactly 8 weeks but his office just called and said they had to bump it to Tuesday. Which really sucks because Hubby will be traveling for work next week and won't be able to come now.

    4. How are you doing? R/R

Bummed the appointment got moved and hubby can't come now. Also I have to have my mom come over to watch my daughter and the daycare boys I watch, so appointments changing is a real pain logistically. I have not told my mom I'm pregnant and planning to wait until at least 14 weeks to do so. Longer if possible. Been throwing up a lot. For some reason nervous that it's twins even though the chance of that is super low (no family history of twins, I'm 28, etc).

    5. GTKY: What is your favorite color? Does it describe your personality?

Lime green. It's bright and cheerful and I love it! DD's nursery is lime green and white with butterflies. Sorry I don't know how to get this to not be bold, I'm on mobile.

Rant: I'm annoyed that my referral to a rheumatologist was marked URGENT and the earliest appointment they could give me is Feb 22 :/ OB wants me to get more info on my condition from the rheumatologist before sending me to MFM. I'll be 12 weeks by then (or I hope to be!) and then not sure what the wait is for MFM. Grrrr. Will talk to OB tomorrow and I asked to be on the cancellation list but it's frustrating...

@BostonBaby1 ugh BOOO to Crohn's and POTS! I have celiac disease and dysautonomia (part of EDS), which I know isn't the same but has some similar symptoms. Not so far apart. You have more to deal with with the EDS. Actually, I found my pressure to be much better during my last pregnancy. I also have hypovolemia (low blood volume) so pregnancy was surprisingly helpful. 1st trimester pressure drops/dizziness are completely normal and I did have a few crazy low readings last time. Fx for us both that our pressures stay in that sweet spot.

@Sugargirl1019 Did you call your doctor?

@BostonBaby1 No, why? This is expected. I just reduce my basal rates and try to keep myself up with apple juice or sugar tablets as much as possible. That's what he'd say to do anyway. Gonna try to enjoy it before resistance kicks in.

I just asked because a blood sugar level of 40 is pretty low and a lot of people can't handle that. I'm glad you've got a good grip on things!

So this is a thing??? I've started to see some lows too and I was getting freaked out. I too have adjusted my basal injection and carry juice everywhere I go. Yesterday i woke up with a 3.6 (we measure differently in Canada...) but just to set a picture fasting should be 5.2, and I was like wth is going on. I have a meeting with my new endocrinologist on Tuesday so I'll ask her about this too.

Ps. I had pizza last night and it was glorious.

I'm ok I guess. Tired a lot and while everyone around me is so jazzed about the pregnancy, I'm still holding back a little given my history of M/C.

     1. Why are you high-risk?   I had a stillbirth at 22 weeks in December of 2015 due to severe pre-eclampsia and HELLP Syndrome. I subsequently found out I have a genetic mutation which causes my blood to clot too much (prothrombin mutation).

    2. How far along are you? I am  4 + 6 and officially due October 2nd, however my doctors won't let me go that long, so I put myself in the September group too :-)

    3. How is treatment going for you? Well so far, I am on low dose aspirin and start 2x daily lovenox injections soon.

    4. How are you doing? R/R?  My job is extremely stressful. I am a drama and chorus teacher and work very long hours with several weekends away from my home on overnight trips with students. I have one coming up weekend after next and a big 4 day trip to NYC in March/April. I'm nervous about those. Doing my best to rest and relax when I can.

    5. GTKY: What is your favorite color? Teal Does it describe your personality? Yes, I love the ocean and cruising and associate that color with vacation!

Hi BostonBaby1, I see we have the same prothrombin mutation. My doctor wasn't sure when to start me on Lovenox :-/ but it's my most hopeful plan to make it further than I did list time.  I'm seeing a high risk specialist in a few weeks and hopefully they will know a bit more about when to start me on it. I'm sorry you have so many other complications to go with it. It sounds like your doctors are on top of it though and have a solid plan! Best of luck and I'll be following your progress!

@boehmsings  i'm incredibly sorry  for your loss. Hopefully this pregnancy will go much smoother for you. Are you heterozygous or  homozygous for the prothrombin? I have only one strain  so I am only taking a baby aspirin right now and we plan to start to Lovonox second trimester.  However, my pregnancy with DS we started Lovenox as soon as the heartbeat was seen.  When to start it is less definitive than the fact that we absolutely need it during any period of bed rest and postpartum for longer than my doctors thought for the last pregnancy. I saw the really great hematologist at Mass General Hospital who said that I need to be on the blood thinners for a minimum of 6 to 10 weeks postpartum. Because postpartum is the highest risk period.  The hematologist also told me to make sure that I stay very well hydrated pregnant or not and also not to sit in the car for longer than 2 1/2 hours without getting out and walking around a bit.  The other thing that I did last pregnancy was to switch to heparin a little bit early  because we have a pretty strong history of preemies in my family.  I'll be following you and yes, I'm very grateful to have fantastic doctors!

*typo  and to add that you might want to visit a hematologist to get their opinion. In addition to the MFM that I bet you will be seeing.

I second what @BostonBaby1 said about seeing a hematologist.  I see one for Factor V Leiden (heterozygous but with a history of a blood clot).  I'm on 150mg of Lovenox daily (the bruising is AWESOME) and a baby aspirin while last time I was on 40mg daily and no aspirin.  I also had early onset preeclampsia and a stillbirth at just about 26 weeks.  I feel like my regular OB is uncomfortable with the higher dose of Lovenox, so I'm happy to have my hematologist on board.  He also is very thorough with blood work so I know he's looking at everything!
