1st Trimester

Constant ache in lower right Abdomen, RL?

Hi I am 6w3d with #2, it has been almost 3 years since I have experienced first trimester symptoms so not sure if this is normal.

I am having a full ache lower right Abdomen only, almost like where I feel ovulation pains. No real cramping, no nausea and no spotting. Could this be RL already? Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: Constant ache in lower right Abdomen, RL?

  • It doesn't sound like RLP to me. My doctor told me to expect some one-sided pain from whatever side I ovulated on since the corpus luteum cyst hangs around for awhile to support the pregnancy till the placenta can take over around week 12. I know I had pretty constant one sided pain that felt sorta like ovulation pain till probably week 11 or 12. So I'm assuming it was the corpus luteum cyst that I was feeling.

I did start having some RLP in the 1st tri but it was different. I'd just get a sharp, sudden pain when I'd sneeze or after I stood up quick when I'd been sitting awhile. So to me what you're describing doesn't sound like RLP.

  • Thank you! I haven't experienced it since I posted. I have had some sharp twinge pains like you said, after I sneeze or cough.
  • I am on baby #2 but I remember that feeling with my daughter. The doctor told me that I had a cyst on your ovary that produces progesterone and that it was a normal and healthy pregnancy symptom.
  • I am 4 weeks today and I'm experiencing the same thing! I remember having the same with ds, so I'm trying not to worry, but I'm a worrier so that's almost impossible. Keep us updated!
