How big is baby? Coconut, water bottle, ear of corn
Appointments this week? Nothing again this week.
Symptoms? Heartburn in my lower right ribs, very bizarre. Lots of movement, congestion, irritability (although not sure if that is just me not the pregnancy lol).
Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm getting excited for everything coming up for me. I have a vacation at the end of Feb, one mid March, then my shower is April 2nd, and by the time I know it, the baby will be here. Some days I still am in disbelief that I am pregnant.
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? My mom always celebrated our "half birthdays" so exactly six months from our regular birthday, and we would get a gift or two. She still celebrates it, and sends my husband a check on his half birthday as well. I will definitely be continuing this tradition.
@jen_shoes glad you started it. I wanted to but couldn't think of or find a good question!
How far along are you? 26 weeks
How big is baby? As long as a scallion. Weighs almost 2 pounds on average this week
Appointments this week? Nope. Early next week
Symptoms? Same as always.
Rant/Rave/Questions? None really. No more contractions and the bleeding stopped after last weeks scare. Got the nursery at least organized though from that. Not anywhere near finished but at least it is not a disaster anymore.
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? I love making our Christmas sandwich and candies with my mom. I can't wait till this one is old enough to. I also love playing cards as a family. Oh. And underwear and socks for Christmas! Still something I look forward to.
@jen_shoes that can also be a sign of gallbladder issues. Mention it to your doctor if it's persistent. I've had it too. Mines in my back right ribs though.

@jen_shoes I was having some pretty bad heart burn all pregnancy. ( I have mild heartburn before pregnancy too) it got worse in second trimester so I started prescription meds but those still weren't working all the time. I started having the pain in my right side ribs (only EVER right) and my mom brought up it sounds more like gallbladder. (She had hers out) I haven't had an opportunity to talk to my doctor really about it. My last 2 appointments have revolved around some signs and scares of preterm labor that any other issues took a back seat. I plan to bring it up at my next appointment. I've been trying to avoid fatty foods. Also sitting in a semi-reclined position seems to help as does a heating pad for the time being.

Symptoms? Heartburn is back. Alternating between being extremely exhausted to having tons of energy.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Loving Amazon and Thredup for baby clothes. Been able to find some really cute stuff for cheap.
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? On our birthdays my mother will call us at the exact time that we were born and tells us our birth story. We were all born in the morning so it's usually the first call of the day.
@LilMissCrafty I've been bouncing between exhausted and lots of energy too! It's weird because I don't remember this with DS - I pretty much had a ton of energy as soon as I hit 2nd tri. How far along are you?
22 weeks!
How big is baby? A coconut!
Appointments this week? Not anything baby-related. Chemo starts Tuesday though. And I am honestly so ready to get started on killing this cancer I am actually looking forward to i
Symptoms?
Nothing really. I've put on some weight in the last week which is good because I lost quite a bit after my diagnosis. I'm feeling nauseous this morning but it's nothing too terrible and probably just hunger-related (eating is helping).
Rant/Rave/Questions? I went a little crazy yesterday with nursery decor shopping. I think I spent over $100 on Etsy...
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? My family has been gathering in Sun Valley, Idaho for generations. It is an awesome little mountain town. We go and ski in the winter and hike and swim in the summer. It is an amazing place to spend time as a kid and I am so excited for DS to grow up getting to experience it.
Symptoms? Let's see, I'd been pretty well symptom free for a while, but this week I got constipation and gas, my first Braxton-Hicks contractions, lower rib pain, and headaches. Oh, and I'm tired again.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Rant: the weather here has been so sucky - rainy, icy, cold, muddy, and just grey and blah. And I want to go walking for exercise, but living in the country, there's not a great indoor option nearby, and outside is so miserable. Sad.
Rave: DH continues to be sweet and cute. He talks to baby girl, and plays piano for her, and hums to her. He's also been hard at work on our remodel every night after work, and never complains about it. AND he gave me a wonderful and unexpected back rub this morning.
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? We don't really have any that come to mind. Except DH and I always get a cup of hot cocoa together during the first snow of the year. I'll be watching this thread for ideas to start with our new little family.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Any of you ladies out marching today? I want to but didn't want to risk rioting with DD and being preg. Power to the people!
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? Every anniversary dinner we have the exact same homemade meal that we did our first year together. It's super cheap and simple and a precious reminder of how far we've come together
Symptoms? Lower back pain on my right side thanks to baby and scoliosis, peeing all night, mildly swollen feet, and peeing ALL night long.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Sort of a rant and a rave in one...after a long night of DH keeping DD and I awake all night and a rough day, he let us get a good night's sleep (he works a late schedule and had boughts of insomnia).
Q- Anyone have any experiences with an EIP (echogenic focus) on baby's heart?
GTKY- Honestly, other than a few insignificant holiday traditions my family has none...hopefully my little family of almost four will come up with some of our own over time.
@omegarose3 I don't have experience but I hope all is ok!
And im officially jealous of all of you saying you had energy at any point. I feel like from week 7 or so this baby has sucked any energy I ever had. Haha.

Symptoms? OMG the massive fatigue is back, I'm jealous of everyone because they have ambition to get off a couch! I had more, but I just want to go back to bed instead of remembering them.
Rant/Rave/Questions? H can tell I'm been extremely tired this week and hasn't complained about my lack of doing anything so that's awesome! I also have a job interview this week! I'm trying to pick out clothes that make me look pregnant instead of fat.
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? The Christmas pickle. Everyone even has their own pickle now so there are many to find!
How big is baby? According to bump a grapefruit H and I looked up with things and found this website https://babysizer.com/manly and baby boy is the size of a can of WD-40! H said that makes more sense lol
Appointments this week? Nope
Symptoms? Tired still...irritable...lots of peeing...feeling baby more (yay!)...not sure if it is baby related or not but yesterday I had this stabbing pain on the right side of my head that only lasted a couple of seconds. I've had it before and looked it up and it's some sort of headache. It could be due to the weather change we are having, I typically get bad migraines when the pressure changes. My scalp is a little sore too, but it could be from one of those weird pimple like bumps. Idk I'm hoping it's nothing and will go away. I'll call my dr if it doesn't get better or gets worse. I'll still try to remember to ask my OB when we go on the 2nd. Anyone else experience something like this?
Rant/Rave/Questions? H gave me a foot/leg rub and back rub the other night. I sure do love him finished the amazon registry and purchased something but it said I didn't...hopefully it just takes a day or so to go through...?
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? Christmas is great for traditions of baking and opening one gift on Christmas Eve. H and I don't really have any traditions yet that are just for us. So I'm hoping to start some new ones with this little guy!
"A day without laughter is a day wasted." ~Charlie Chaplin
How big is baby? It's a cauliflower or rutabaga or a tart tatin
Appointments this week? Nope
Symptoms? Heartburn. The baby is pressing on my nerves down below I think so I have pain in the private parts. Joint pains. Sigh.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I got my driving license!! Passed my road test with 96%! I think it also helped that the instructor doing the test was the one I did my lessons with. Lol. I'd take a couple of points more off myself.
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? I'm not sure we have one. On new years eve we usually go to see the fireworks at the space needle.
Symptoms? Irritability, hungry all the time, ultrasound confirmed baby is sitting super low in my pelvic bone hence all that pain!!, nesting and needing everything for the nursery, savory cravings turning into sweet!!
Rant/Rave/Questions? Rant: We had our Anatomy scan on Thursday. We have been team green this entire time and somehow I got convinced by my hubby and the tech to walk out of the appointment with an envelope concealing the gender in case we change our mind. As we were driving home and talking about it, it hit me and I started crying! I just felt so pressured into it so we decided to leave things as is and handed the envelope to my mom to have. This is our third (& final) child, I have always done what the family wanted to do, which is find out! This time I am sticking to what I WANT to do and thats that!!
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? After school ice cream date with the kids on the last Monday of the school year, Doughnuts on your Birthday morning, Matching Christmas Nails at the salon with my daughter, Making cookies and hot cocoa to bring in the car while we tour our town for Christmas lights in our jammies.
Appointments this week? Nope! Not until mid February
Symptoms? Back and rib pain on my left side and occasional heartburn. I'm still mostly having lots of energy though, so thankful for that!
Rant/Rave/Questions? We are taking our first family trip to Disneyland this week and I am so excited to experience all the magic through my son
GTKY: What is your favorite family tradition? Going to Hawaii every May has always been something that's near and dear to my heart. However, it's just the simple things like having Sunday dinners with my parents and whatever aunts, uncles, Cousins, are around that mean the most to me. I feel very lucky to have so much family close by.
@OmegaRose3 our DS had a EIF detected at our anatomy scan. We went to MFM for another ultrasound and they were surprised it was even mentioned to us. They let us know that with ultrasound equipment that isn't as advanced, sometimes the spot will show up brighter than bone even though it's not really. We opted not to do any additional genetic testing, but TBH I did still worry the rest of our pregnancy. DS was born healthy and all was fine! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions at all!
@BabyMC517 lurking... those headaches were something I posted multiple questions about. Yes they are a type of migraine. I had mine terrify me many times between weeks 22-25. It was a dull pain and then out of nowhere a stabbing sharp pain that would terrify me to say the least. I talked to my doc and she said it's normal and hormone related and a type of spasm. The last week hasn't been episode free. So hopefully yours will go away as mine have. The OB did say it could also last until the end. But that most resolve by 3rd trimester.
Thanks, @mamatowildones ! Not looking forward to having them for the rest of this pregnancy! Haven't had any today but my scalp is still sore. I did hit my head pretty hard last weekend so maybe it is still lingering from that...? I had H check it and he feels a little bump but doesn't see anything. How you feel better!!

@sarah0985 I'm not sure if since you mentioned to me about my pain potentially not being acid reflux if it has happened more, or if I'm more aware of it now. It has become more bothersome to me, basically I had the pain all day yesterday, and since about an hour and a half ago today. I called my OB and they are having me come in tomorrow morning to check it out. I'm hoping it is just reflux, but I get super anxious and I think my mind will wander not knowing what is going on.
