How big is baby? Kale, a big gulp, pair of work gloves, weight of a 2-liter
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Team Blue - Samuel Cruz
Appointments this week? I was going to go to the lab for my glucose test first thing in the morning, but I couldn't peel myself out of bed. So I'll go next weekend. Just have to go before my next appt on 2/7.
Symptoms? Nothing new to report. Baby kicks. Back pain. Achey hips. Heavy stomach dragging me down.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Not a damn thing! And don't anticipate anything getting done this week. I'm waiting for my baby shower at the end of February and we need to buy a dresser. Then I can complete the nursery.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Tomorrow is DSS#2's 6th birthday! We are celebrating with a party tonight for him. I can't believe he is 6! When DH and I started dating he was a cute 4 month old baby. And now he is a sweet, young boy. He is definitely the sweetest of all my boys.
GTKY:What was the best vacation you've ever been on? Probably every year when DH and I go to Santa Cruz for our anniversary (without kids!). We always have so much fun with each other and have a great time relaxing and recharging. Each year we try to mix it up and do something new in the area, but the first day we always have a picnic on the beach and that is probably my favorite part of the whole trip.
How big is baby? Size of a camping lantern or a bunch of bananas
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Green
Appointments this week? Glucose test Wednesday morning! Strawberry pop tarts are my go to breakfast on the go but not this week
Symptoms? Lots of elbows and knees poking around on my insides. This one moves differently than DD and a lot of times I have to stop while it's happening because it is un-com-for-ta-ble.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Got in touch with a maternity/newborn photographer and working on potty training DD. She's doing frat with it at daycare so we are trying to be more consistent at home. I wouldn't be mad to only have one in diapers come April...
Rants/Raves/Questions: I feel like I'm in the sweet spot pregnancy wise before things get tough again. I feel great, hip pain is practically nonexistent, heartburn has disappeared, etc. Enjoying it now because 3rd tri with DD brought a whole new world of symptoms. Also, we participated in a scavenger hunt last night that has you clipped to three other people and working in a designated area for two hours. It's really fun but I am SO sore. Getting out of bed was a sight this morning!
GTKY: What is the best vacation you have ever been on? Our honeymoon cruise. We've sailed often but rarely just the two of us. It was so nice to create our own schedule and take our time plus we knew the ship & its offerings well so we were picky about what we decided to do and spent a lot of time relaxing. So great.
How far along are you? 28 weeks! Hello 3rd trimester! I am so happy to see you!
How big is baby? A roller blade or an eggplant.
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Green (Harper Mae or Daniel Carl) (Harper after Harper Lee (my favorite author) and Mae after DH's grandmother; Daniel after my uncle and Carl after my other uncle and my dad (it's his middle name)).
Appointments this week? No appts until 2/8. I will need to get rhogam at that appointment.
Symptoms? I'm anemic, so being extra tired. RLP. Heartburn. Leg cramps. Movement. Basically all the 'normal' symptoms.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? We bought a van! We settled on the Odyssey and we already love it! My kids love having so much space. I bought the detergent to wash the cloth diapers and I might start to do those this week. I even order a few onesies for the baby. I bought one girl on and one boy one, so when the baby arrives he or she will have a onesie to wear for a picture to show everyone.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I don't know if this is a rant, per se, but I've been struggling with DD. She's 5 and in Kindergarten and has some bouts with anxiety. They sort of come and go and I think some of it is related to staying on a schedule. She had a tough time starting K, but after 2 weeks or so she settled in and things were fine. We hit winter break and she had 11 days off, which threw her off again. She's struggling now. I think she knows things are going to change soon(ish) with the baby. She also dreads getting a stomach bug or having pooping issues. Every night at bedtime she cries for me or my mom. And for the past 2 days she's barely eaten because (I think) she is afraid of having loose poop (she had a little loose poop the other night). Usually she cycles through and is then fine again, but having her go through it is so terrible. I am thinking of contact her school counselor to see if she can help or offer names of therapists who might be able to help her (and us). She is so sweet and sensitive and I hate to see her so sad.
GTKY: What is the best vacation you have ever been on? Probably my honeymoon to St. Maarten or a cruise I went on with my best friend the summer before our senior year of college. My honeymoon was over winter break, so it was awesome being in warmer weather. We had such a relaxing week. It was perfect! The cruise was fun because it was just me and my best friend and we relaxed and had a great time before starting our senior year.
Appointments this week? Thursday, I'm supposed to do my 3 hour test, see the ob coordinator, and then my ob for a grand total of 4 hours in the office! However, I've been checking my sugar this last week and my numbers have not been great. So I'm going to cancel the 3 hour.
Symptoms? lots if Braxton hicks this time. I never really had them with my son or I didn't notice. And my pelvis hurts when I stand up, which sucks in the middle of the night and my son wakes up. He's getting molars so he wakes up a lot right now!
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? research mini vans. Still trying to figure out what this baby will sleep in. Lol
Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm just kinda feeling like a horrible wife lately. I get so mad at my husband for the dumbest things and he finally blew up at me last night, which was well deserved. Ugh, I just have so much going through my mind and he's all calm and cool (which is why I love him) but lately our son is all about daddy which makes me feel pretty worthless.
GTKY: What is the best vacation you have ever been on? honestly, we are in desperate need of a vacation! Our last was 3 years ago when we went to Gatlinburg. We had a blast though!
I guess I missed an appointment last week so I'm not sure when my next one is. I'm in the midst of trying to find a new midwife, which is fairly stressful.
Symptoms: heartburn and daily headaches. The two seem to go hand in hand. I can't figure out anything to curb the headaches. Otherwise, my body feels fine. I'm bigger and it's harder to get around, but I'm still hanging tough at Zumba and things like that.
I got all of dd's old baby clothes sorted this week. Still have to put them away. Just need to get our diapers back from a friend and then for the first few weeks, we are set.
Rants: just super stressed about switching providers this late in the game.
Raves: I found out coworkers are throwing me a baby shower, which I did not expect at all!
GTKY: DH and I have been to Holland together twice. I grew up there and we absolutely love it...In a perfect world, I'd raise my own children there!
But I love Michaelangelo's work and life story, so our week in Florence to see his works was fairly life changing.

@cafedisco did I miss the story why you are changing midwives? I imagine how stressful that would be at this point in pregnancy. I'm having to switch our insurance from DHs former employer to mine, but luckily, I have the option of keeping the same healthcare provider, so I'm definitely doing that.
I guess I didn't post about it. I've had a bad guy feeling for a while. I'm unhappy with how they've handled my mental health concerns. They've really brushed it off. And the main, more experienced midwife has only been at one of my appointments...We were given the impression we were hiring her and her two apprentices, but she's non existent. The last straw for me was the birth class last week. Led by one of the younger midwives, it was just awful.as someone who had a tough birth experience, it was very difficult to sit through. A lot of "if you're good at it, you can keep yourself from tearing" and "some women just don't know what to do and waste their energy but it doesn't have to be hard". It just felt judgemental. She showed her own birth video. I don't know. After all I thought was I don't want her at my birth.

30 weeks and Team Pink. Still no name yet! No appts for another week or so. My sciatica was so bad the other night I had to sleep sitting up on the couch, ouch! Thankfully, this week at work is a little slower and I will be able to rest a little more. I'm still nauseous every morning, feel like I've run a marathon daily, and RLP is doing okay but there. We bought a new car last week- I'm calling it the kids car since whoever has the kids, will have the car, ha ha. It's a Dodge Durango and I absolutely love it. I'm just amazed how fast this is all going and can't believe we only have about 10 weeks left to go. I feel like there is so much left to do, and I have no motivation to do any of it anymore! Best vacation would probably have to be when my sister took me to Italy. I'd love to go back with DH someday- we have a plan to go somewhere in 3.5 years without the kids and have already started saving for it! I really cannot wait.

Appointments this week? None this week with the OB. But I have been seeing a chiro at least once a week since about 14 weeks and it has been working wonders.
Symptoms? Trouble sleeping, muscle pain if I move too quickly, fatigue, hormonal, dry skin. Nothing awful, just inconvenient.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Had our first shower on Saturday. It went pretty well. I'm so grateful for everything we received but because we got almost all clothes I am now panicking about having other items (like sheets and a mattress protector for the pack and play, a stroller, baby tub/towels, first day stuff, etc.) We have another shower in February so maybe we will get a few of those things then!
Rants/Raves/Questions: I cannot believe some of us are officially in the 30s. Wowza. Also, after I had a total meltdown on DH last night out of exhaustion and feeling overwhelmed he bought me a "Cozy Bump" once I fell asleep. Apparently it's a massive inflatable thing with a hole in it so you can nap on your belly No idea if it will be even remotely comfortable to use, but he was so cute about it and I appreciate the effort. He is really trying to make sure I'm as comfortable as possible. He even offered to put lotion on my back last week because I was telling him about how dry my skin was.
GTKY: What is the best vacation you have ever been on? It wasn't actually a vacation, but my time studying abroad in London was hands down my favorite. We lived right in the heart of the city and within a 5 minute walk I could be at Buckingham Palace or down by the Eye/Parliament at the river. I met some of my best friends and had a blast exploring Europe.
Actual vacation I would have to go with our honeymoon in August. Still London, but this time with DH and it was our first real vacation together. I loved exploring with him and seeing how we handled the stress of traveling.
