How big is baby? Average size--19in, 6lbs. So-my babe? I'm assuming 20in and 7lbs
Appointments Update? 36 wk Appointment on Monday! Going over birth plan, signs of labor, when to come to birth center, etc! And getting GBS swab done. I hope it'll all feel more real after this one!
And then it's weekly appt from here on out!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Hmmm. Headed to MILs today for "Christmas", she lives 20min away, but has rescheduled her family Christmas time with us and her other son three different times. I'm nervous! She's your typical overbearing and manipulative MIL, and i always feel so tense and awkward when we get together.
There will most definitely be comments about my huge size--How the baby better come on her birthday so our lives even more fully revolve around her. Side handed comments about how she never sees her grandchild and needs to come steal her away to force her to love her more than me- AND, the most recent drama about how she isn't the one watching DD for this little ones birth-and that makes her cry herself to sleep at night. Which also won't be said to my face, but in side comments to my 17mo old daughter when she knows I'm listening. Ugh.
Praying none of this comes up and we have an awesome time!! ...but I'm realistic and preparing myself for the norm.
GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week? Gosh. What haven't I dreamt about!? Hah. My mind is a circus. Last night I had a dream about my childhood friends and I (we started a dance troupe) we were trying to practice a dance with our newly found male partners-who were midgets. Or small children. No idea which. And at the same time my friends were trying to fry chicken around the room, and I was frantically dancing around behind them putting out all the grease fires.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I had a serious scare this week, lost a big chunk of mucous plug (which I know can grow back), and proceeded to have five hours of pretty steady and uncomfortable braxton hicks that didn't stop no matter what I did. Midwife reassured me that it sounded like just braxton Hicks and to get some sleep. I am 2 hours away from where I am supposed to deliver and 4 hours away from where I would have to deliver if I went into early labor so I was trying not to freak out. But now my butt is in over gear to get things ready for this baby with the realization he or she could come at any time.
GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week? Oddly I haven't had any weird of memorable dreams lately. Which I am completely ok with.
How big is baby? Butternut squash. The bump says he's 17.7 inches and 4.63 lbs, so I'm thinking he's just over 5.
Appointments Update? I have both a growth scan and 34 week appointment on Monday.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Put a fork in me. I'm done. I'll be happy if I make it to 37-38 weeks for the health of the baby, but seriously, I'm tired. I don't want to be pregnant anymore. I'm hoping at the growth scan on Monday they give him an eviction date.

How big is baby? Baby is the size of a quokka. Never heard of it but looks cute lol

Rants/Raves/Questions? Just want my toddler and I to get past this cold and maybe a bit less snow for a few days. I can't see the backyard anymore the snow on the deck is taller than most people. Except for the puppy tunnel to go potty all you see is white out the patio door.
GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week? So in and out of sleep that dreams just are the times when I'm awake but feel asleep.

Appointments Update? I have one this Thursday - my first non stress test and fluid check u/s due to high bp. Excited to see little guy again and hoping we can do 3D this time. Each u/s i have been told we can't do it due to his position - frank breech
Rants/Raves/Questions? Not much this week. Feeling pretty good. Hoping baby stays in for several more weeks. Like I said in last weeks post DS was born at 32 weeks so I have a little anxiety right now.
GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week? No dreams last night that I remember.
How big is baby? Baby is the size of squash apparently. About 16.5 inches and almost 4lbd
Appointments Update? Next appointment is Feb 1st. Had a general checkup this last week. The said my BP is still on the low side, but everything else looks great!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant is that I wish I could be on Maternity leave already. I'm so mentally checked out at work. Although on the other hand. I might go crazy with 8 weeks of nothing to do.
GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week? I've been dreaming that I'm British royalty. My dreams tend to change based on whatever I've been watching lately. Been watching The Crown on Netflix. Although watched Arrival tonight. So my dreams should be interesting tonight... haha

How big is baby? Probably 3 1/2lbs and 16 inches, or the size of a bunch of asparagus, or, my personal choice of comparison, an Asian Small-Clawed otter which is my favorite animal everever
Appointments Update? Had one yesterday and will go back Feb 3rd- all is well and baby is growing perfectly according to doctor!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Happy to be drawing near the end of my pregnancy and so excited to meet my girl! Baby shower in about 3 weeks so that's awesome. The ice storm last week effed us all up financially and of course staying with the inlaws for 5 days was hell on all of us emotionally- im so glad to be home. My toddler has started saying "Im hungry" constantly, even after she's JUST eaten and generally being super whiny so that's a nerve fryer but we are getting on alright otherwise.
GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week? Soooo much crazy stuff! But I always have wild and vivid dreams despite pregnancy. Its actually quite a trip sometimes, remembering certain ones clearly, or having repeated ones, or dreaming about seeing a moment in time and then experiencing that exact moment some months later. My problem sleeping is random selective insomnia and being the size of a bloody house!
How big is baby? Ultrasound yesterday estimated 4lb 4oz
Appointments update? I had a midwife appointment Thursday and everything's looking good. I also had an ultrasound yesterday to recheck baby's kidneys which were slightly enlarged at the AS. The tech couldn't say anything about how they looked so I guess I'll find out for sure next time I see the midwife. It was nice to see baby though and the 3D picture is so adorable.
Rants/Raves/Questions? DH's work wants to throw us a baby shower. The thing is, being a STM and team green, there's not much I need right now.
GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week? The other night I dreamed I was in a large room with a bunch of other women and we were all in labor (including my sister who is due a couple days after me). After a pain-free labor, I thought my baby was a boy but then it turned out to be a girl. She was a very cute baby though:)
@ElleB11 That's nice of DH coworkers. I feel the same way about the church ladies who have forced me into a sprinkle... i don't really need much with being number two. I guess one of the women in charge keeps telling everyone to buy clothes. Ugh. I would much prefer practical gift cards and diapers!! --but, can't look a gift horse in the mouth-right? Hope you get some things you will all actually need!

Quokka?!! Or a basketball hoop. AS of the 14th shes was 4.5 lbs.
Appointments Update?
Sooo.... my new homebirth midwife explained to me that some of the midwives from the BC that Im leaving to do a home birth instead are amazing in that they wont fully discharge you from the birth center practice so that just incase you need a hospital transfer a BC midwife can take over at the hospital for us (since the HB midwives dont have hospital privileges) She gave me the name of a couple cool BC midwives to talk to about this and a couple of the midwives not to bring it up with and then there were a couple new ones she didnt know about. So I had my appointment this week with one of the unknowns. I very loosely brought up "what if I Wanted to do a home birth?" she thoroughly explained the termination process. Sooo.... I made my next/last appointment for 2 weeks from now with a midwife that I know will be more accommodating! So thats just a little added coolness to the homebirth for me! Then I have my first official appointment with the HB midwife we hired on the 31st!!

I have 2 RANTS
DS has the stomach flu, is teething and is going through a WW leap (if you ever followed wonder weeks - I only do loosely)
He was up at 10 - hubs did a paci plug
Up at 11 - I did a paci plug
Up at 12 screaming I went in with him and just stayed there (he's on a full size floor bed)
Up at 1 screaming
Up at 2 paci plug
Up at 3 screaming - gave bottle
Up for the day at 5:45. I change him, play with him read to him for 30 minutes and then wake hubs (who mind you has now had 6+ hours of uninterrupted sleep) to take DS so I can take a nap. He's groans acts like hes SOOO tired.
I lay down and just hear my husband getting frustrated with DS bc he's not eating (which we've talked about it normal for teething and being on the tail end of this virus) So now I cant sleep bc hes unnecessarily frustrated at our lo.
So now I'm up. Tired. Totally resentful that DH acts like hes SOO tired (this is a reoccurring thing) and coulnt contain his frustration. DS will not STARVE himself.
Sigh.
Number 2 - so after all of this DH brings up the fact that one of his coworkers (a woman I worked with before staying home) is rather insistent on giving us girl clothes. Super sweet great. He then says yeah she wants to know when you can come into the office to get them. I told her perhaps sometime next week.
Wait. What.
You know we have again a teething, sick toddler right now. Who you want me to pack him up and my 34 week pregnant self in the cold to drive 45 minutes to your office to pick up these clothes? And you agreed I would do this? What in the world?? Can someone please explain to me WHY she can't just hand you the clothes? Brains people. We all have them. Lets try to use them.

GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week?
Seriously had a strange one two nights ago - I was in an accident of some kind and got a huge cut on the side of my stomach. My husband was there and we both could see our lo in my belly. We were both in awe of seeing her that we didnt realize all her wiggling was causing her to come out of the side of my belly. Next thing I know shes in my arms and I was paniced thinking that she needed support still.
P.S. I think that this dream had a little to do with a tv show I watched where the baby was born early and they put her in artificial amniotic fluid lol
MIL is 62? I believe. She's a special snowflake. She's pushed everyone in her life away. Literally. DH is pretty much her only relative that still is on speaking terms with her-so I know it's not just me... but it doesn't make things any easier. So sorry you have similar problem! I wouldn't wish I law drama on my worst enemy!

@Jen524 I can sympathize. My FIL had the audacity to complain about how my son favors my parents and wouldn't say "pawpaw" even though he says everyone else's names. Considering that he is retired, in perfect health, lives two hours away, and has ONLY VISITED US TWICE for less than a half a day's visit (including the incident when he complained about us not trying to make my son like him), I was pretty direct in pointing out that more face time in his comfortable place at home would fix that problem. I swear, he truly doesn't understand why we keep telling him it's easier for them to visit us than for us to take a toddler (and now a newborn) to stay at someone else's house for a weekend. Crappy sleep is making me remember ALL of my dreams, hence the gtky.
How far along are you? 32 weeks. Only 5 weeks until I'm early term! Considering I developed preeclampsia last pregnancy, although everything is fine so far, it's constantly on my radar that I could have baby in my arms much earlier than 40 weeks.
How big is baby? Big. I'm measuring two weeks ahead, so I'm gonna guesstimate over 4 pounds. In spite of my anterior placenta, it has become super easy for me to find her little body and cup my hands around her butt and what I can only assume are her shoulders. She seems like a newborn size already!!! (For those worried about transverse or breech babies at this stage, I visibly watched my bubbe move from head down to transverse (ouch) to head down again in church today. It was entertaining, though I dont think I was listening to the sermon much.)
Appointments Update? I have an appt and growth scan Thursday (see above about fundal measurements). At that point I'm supposed to make an appt with an mfm associated with the hospital I deliver at that works with my midwife practice, as kind of a just in case because of my elevated risk of preeclampsia.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I feel like my to do list is outrageously long. Each thing on it is short, but it takes up too much brainspace to remember it all. Call the pd to make an appt to pick up my found wallet, call my midwives billing dept because my insurance mistakenly paid as if they were out of network, Call HR to ask how short term disability will work if I am out through the end of my one year contract, get my tDap, go shopping for my kids second birthday party.....the list is literally two pages long in my planner.
GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week? So many weird dreams. Most recently I dreamed I made a doctors appt for my son when he complained of an ear ache, but for some reason we had a new doctor, so we went to the office and paid only to find we had paid for a hearing test and access to toddler dance class (at my doctors, mind) and that all the medical services were at self-serve terminals. Then I dreamed I was a member of a SWAT team rescuing kittens from a deranged male Cruella deVille type villain.
I understand the feels. Every time I go to my appts, my BP is sorta high ((mostlikley because I get myself SO riled up and anxious when they take it about it being too high because of my experience from my last pregnancy!)) everyone around me is counting down till 40wks for me, but I can't help but focus on that 37wk mark that I'll hit in a week when I met DD!
every twinge, cramp and back ache yesterday freaked me out. I know every pregnancy is different but I just didn't realize how concerned I have been until yesterday and today. Obviously I have a ways to go but every day further along is a blessing!

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm wiped after this weekend. Emotionally and physically. Between current events and strained extended family stuff I was kind of at bottom - yesterday I cried a bunch about random stuff like the broom - and trying to hold myself together until yoga last night. Then my yoga teacher had a sub who taught pilates instead of yoga, and didn't tell us until she was literally beginning the class. I'm on a HR restriction, I was exhausted, had I known before we'd started that it was pilates I would have left. I tried to push through it which was a horrible idea, even though I took lots of breaks I'm SO SORE and it wasn't relaxing at all... so I feel even worse. Trying to take it super easy on myself today. Started a Mississippi Roast so I'm hoping that will be delicious and an easy dinner.
GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week? No idea. Haven't slept well at all since Thursday.
@silverbulletband - we are dream twinsies! I always have super vivid and strange dreams. I also get repeats or will dream about something that actually happens months later. It's the craziest feeling of deja vu, but I'll get a glimpse of something that makes no sense in a dream and then it'll actually happen. So weird.

Appointments Update? Start my biweeklies this Friday. I have a ton of questions to ask. We started our Bradley classes a few weeks ago and now I'm feeling like I need to discuss L&D plans with my midwives. I kept thinking I still had time, but I just need to get them off my chest.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My DH is really the best. He's been taking such good care of me. It's just the little things like, he'll skip his run and go for a walk with me instead if I want to go walk. He rubs my back in the evenings when we're on the couch. He made me cookie dough cupcakes this weekend just because he knew I'd like them. Super sweet.
GTKY: What did you dream about last night/this week? I usually have really weird dreams, but for some reason pregnancy seems to have calmed them down. I've been dreaming a lot about baby, but its just the simple things: holding him/her after birth, breastfeeding, rocking him/her to sleep. Really peaceful.

@kjd291 Same here for me! I was admitted to the hospital on the first Friday of february 2015 to be induced with my son. Seeing that day (a week from friday!) on our meeting calendar today really brought out memories of his birth!!
