now that most babies will be drinking milk, what are you ladies doing to make sure your LO gets enough nutrients and veggies/fruit? Are you secretly putting veggies in dishes? Smoothies? Any tricks and tips?
We offer a variety of foods, all cut up small or in larger pieces that he can grab and eat on his own. Whole bananas and strips of canned pears are his current favorites, but diced steamed carrots (or other veggies) are popular too. We also use the gerber pouches which he will just suck down as fast as he can. My pedi told me it doesn't matter so much what he eats in a day, but how he eats over the week. If you have a day where all they will eat are french fries and graham crackers, that's ok, as long as the next day they eat better. I personally don't believe in hiding fruits and veggies, you eat what is put in front of you.
Something that helped is a tip I learned from my mom's group. There is a separation of duties when it come to eating. Your job: what and when; Their job: if and how much.
I also give my boys a children's multivitamin. For the baby I just cut a gummy in half until he is old enough for a whole one.
