I feel like my hormones made everything and everyone a TW today. I have one class of students who will not stop calling each other "swine" and talking in Shakespearean language (or their best attempt). 3 more days with them, then I get a new group.
My mom, who was complaining about getting a snow day at school when I would really just about hurt someone for a late start or early out.
Anyone and everyone who makes any sort of comment about my appearance.
And did I mention students? End of term = they finally care about their grades. "What can I do to pass?" Uh, A) you could have cared about your grade the last 9 weeks and it would be super awesome if you actually put any sort of effort into your work.
Drivers!! I already have ragey problems with driving anywhere, but hormones plus not getting enough sleep make me way cranky in the morning. Infallibly I've been stuck behind people driving 15 below the speed limit the entire length of the main road to work, and I can't pass on that road. I don't know how any of y'all whose commutes include coming to a standstill at any point can handle it.
Also, DH's truck is a TW. It's cost about $1300 in repairs in the last couple of years, and you know how much it's worth in Kelly Blue Book? Like $2000. Breaking down again right before we buy nursery furniture is just a dick move, truck.
People feeling the need to comment on my size. Will they ever stop!!!
-Oh you look sooo big! -Oh you don't look 6 months at all. -Wow only 3 months to go? You need to grow more. -What, you still have 3 months? You're going to be huge!
STAHP!!!!! My baby is perfect sized and healthy! shut up!!! I am this close to responding with something equally inappropriate one of these days. I am thinking something along the lines of "Well, the way your cute little tummy is shaping up after lunch, you might be carrying a surprise too, no?" - see how they react..
The only one comment I loved was a colleague in the ladies room.. I was looking at myself in the mirror and felt really big, so I did say something like "gosh I look big" - she said "oh no, are you kidding? You look so neat, I can't believe someone in almost third tri carries herself so well". - this was soo nice to hear (even though she would not have said this if she had seen me in my yoga pants and scruffy top at home...).
Now that we are at tw, mini tws include:-
*People saying hello and constantly looking down at my bump. MY eyes are up here. *People saying hello and their second question ALWAYS being "oh how ARE you", in a tone that indicates that I am supposed to be suffering. "I bet you are tired" (yes, but I'll live). "I bet it's very difficult to come into work" (nope, actually, it's good to move around a bit). "I bet you can't sleep". (some days I can, some days I can't, but guess what, none of your business).
I might just be super irritated lately. thanks for letting me rant.
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
@smallanimal so sweet of your coworker to tell you you look nice! I've had some comments from people about how they "bet I wish I didn't have to be at work" as they glance from my bump to the boot on my broken foot and shake their heads sympathetically. But come on. I love my job and I love coming to work and I wouldn't even think about the boot if you wouldn't keep reminding me.
@smallanimal I understand your frustrations all too well. I am dreading all the comments at my baby shower this weekend from family whom I don't get along with well to start with. Can I just wear a loose, flowy dress that doesn't show off the bump
Everyone tells me I look too small (although I feel big) and I already have a complex about my lack of weight gain. People's comments don't help. I've had 2 people at work recently say, "What?! You're pregnant!?" ::face palm::
@smallanimal, yes, yes, yes, you wrote out almost everything I'm feeling to a T!! Especially the "Ohh, you are getting so big!" I know people think they are complimenting but they aren't so I wish it would stop! I wasn't near this sensitive my first go around, so I'm not sure why I am this time haha!!
I also hate when people stare at my belly first when I stand up. I work in an office where my desk sits further back and then we have stations toward the front to go up and wait on customers as they walk in and I feel like the second I stand up and come out from behind my desk til I get seated at the front, they just stare at my belly the WHOLE time. Drives me NUTS! Again, I'm more sensitive this time as you can tell!!
I walked into work the other day and a co worker I haven't seen in a couple weeks yelled "holy crap you're pregnant!" When I walked in. I could feel every person in the building turn and stare when she said it.. I said "OMG I am? Is that what's happening? I'm so glad we figured it out!" Thankfully It doesn't bother me much as I know she's just an idiot.
