Has anyone had experience with parernity testing?

Little background information: I'm due any day now with my daughter and her father was a one night stand while visiting a friend on the east coast. We got in contact and he does want to proceed with testing (I offered before he asked, I have no doubts but for piece of mind I just like things in writing). 

I'd like to get it done asap after she's born, however with him being on the east coast and me being in the midwest, how can I go about that? Any suggestions? Pointers?

I do not have any experience, however, I do know that the state you're in will test the baby and then will have to contact the state he's in and coordinate his test.  That is the extent of my knowledge. You could contact the agency where you live, see if it's possible to find a way to have him tested now so that when the baby comes you can test immediately.  I don't know if that's something they do, but it's worth asking.
