This thread is for August moms who have previously suffered a loss (miscarriage, stillbirth, etc).

Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!

How far along are you?

How are you doing?

When is your next appointment?

  • I'm 29, DH is 31 we have 1 son, he's 2 and I have had 3 M/Cs. 1 before DS and 2 while trying for baby #2.
    How far along are you?
    8 weeks tomorrow

How are you doing? A lot better. Last Thursday I had my dating US and LO had a strong heartbeat. It was very reassuring to see.

When is your next appointment? Feb 1st.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: DS was so well behaved at playgroup today. And he's having a great nap now. I'm one happy mommy today.

GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song?  if not do you are your SO have a song? We danced to "I can't help falling in love with you" a cover by the Eels. We had a whole dance choreographed out as a surprise but 5 seconds into our dance my MIL also had a surprise of wrapping us in streamers. Apparently it is an Italian tradition? I was so disappointed.
  • @a2003tiger  that is so exciting you found baby's heart beat with the doppler!
@Kudlica27 I am sorry you ended up in the hospital!  I hope your appointment goes well Friday!
@AKFarmerBecky  every day with no bleeding is a big deal!
My name is Christine.  I am 33.  H is 30.  We have a 4 YO DD and a 2 YO DD.  I had a CP before DD2, as well as in March of 2016.

    How far along are you?
    8 weeks 6 days

How are you doing? Pretty good.  I still have nausea and headaches, which is both great and not great.

When is your next appointment? Later today!  I am so nervous and excited!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  I messed up my neck yesterday somehow.  It really hurts and I have pain radiating down my arm.  I am missing ibuprofen a little bit today.

GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song?  if not do you are your SO have a song?  We had our first dance to Open Arms by Journey.  While we didn't have a super choreographed routine like @a2003tiger (which sounds awesome by the way!) we did learn a dance and took dance lessons for our first dance.  H is dancing challenged and he wanted to have a great first dance.

  • My appointment went well.  We got to take a quick peek at the baby and see its little heart beating away.  That is definitely a weight off.  This had been the longest that I have gone without an ultrasound in any pregnancy so I was relieved the doctor did a quick ultrasound.

    How far along are you?
    8 weeks

How are you doing? better now that I had my first appt on Fri and my first ultrasound. Nausea is still all day but no puking yet. Still in my must eat can't eat nausea cycle.

When is your next appointment? 1/27 at 9+4

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: rave/rant: I'm happy to have had my first U/S, but I know I have a long way to go to pass my first milestone week when I lost my son. It sucks that my PGAL brain thinks this way.

GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song?  if not do you are your SO have a song?  ours was "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes. DH was so worried about dropping me during the dip he wanted to do, but I've lived to tell that all went well :)
  • @szwill86 I am glad you had your first ultrasound. I can't imagine how draining it would be to wait that long to pass your loss milestone.  Hugs.

  • @hupp0013 thanks! I'm glad to hear that your appointment went so well and that you got to see the baby!
  • Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
Im 28 for a week and a half longer! DH is 26.  I had a MC in July, completely natural, and started to TTC right away.
How far along are you?  11 weeks today

How are you doing? Im doing better and better.  I dont feel as sick as I had, and I am thinking that I am feeling a bit more energetic.  Although my TW of a neighbor was super loud last night around 2am so I was super tired this morning.

When is your next appointment?  I have my NT scan on the 27th, the day after my birthday.  Im pumped that I will get to see the little bean again!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I already mentioned my TW of a neighbor, but I could go on! I think Im more pumped about getting new pants, and having enough leggings/jeggings to keep me from having to wear anything that buttons again!

GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song?  if not do you are your SO have a song?
My DH was in an a capella group through college, and we got married a month after he graduated.  For his senior send-off song he sang Marry Me by Train.  Many people thought that he was proposing, but if they had listened to the words (he changed a few) and to the person who introduced the send off, they would have known. So as a surprise, he had the group record the song for our wedding day, and we danced to it too! It was so sweet and personal.  I will never forget it!

I'm 31 (today! ah!) and my DH is 39. We had a MMC at 8 weeks in October.
    How far along are you?
9 weeks today (past the loss date!!!)
    How are you doing?
Very nervous about my first appointment and ultrasound this afternoon. Trying to stay positive but it's hard.
    When is your next appointment?
    Today!
    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Praying for a good appointment today. (I sound like a broken record- clearly I'm not getting much done at work this morning!)
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song?  if not do you are your SO have a song?

  • Happy bday @blueskies17! And good luck today at your appt! I recently passed my loss date too... what a reassurance right?!
  • @blueskies17

Happy birthday!! Good luck today at your appt. And yay for passing your previous loss date!
  • Yay @a2003tiger!! That's awesome! Man I hope they do all of that at my first appt and I don't have to wait forever! That's such relieving news!

Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
So many January birthdays here!  Me too; I'll be 31 on Sunday.  I keep forgetting about it.  All I can think about is baby.
    How far along are you?
A little over 10 weeks.  How is that I feel like an eternity has passed since I found out, but at the same time I feel like I haven't made it anywhere?  Sigh.
    How are you doing?
Pretty good actually.  I have PGAL moments.  Still checking that toilet paper. ;)  But mostly I feel good.  Nausea is starting to go away and I have more energy.  I've completely outgrown my bras.  I'm no slouch in that department anyway, but now I feel like I'll topple over at any minute.  My poor husband is experiencing PGAL brain worse than I am right now.  He doesn't get those constant reminders that I do, so he's always asking about my symptoms.  It's really sweet.  :) Anybody else's SO experiencing this, too?
    When is your next appointment?
Tomorrow, but that is a nutrition appointment.  Ugh.  It feel like a waste of perfectly good appointment space.  I don't mean to sound derogatory to Nutritionists; I'd just much rather use that time for an ultrasound.  The next appointment with the midwife is the 31st.  Not sure if we'll be getting another ultrasound at that time.  I hope so.  getting to see the baby is such a relief.  And I love watching my husband during an ultrasound.  The look of amazement on his face is priceless.
    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I hope everything is going well for you ladies as well!
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song?  if not do you are your SO have a song? No wedding song; we eloped.  But we claim all of Jeff Buckley's Live at Sine as our own.  An album instead of a song.

@dmbfan46835  I have also woken up hungry.  It's crazy.  And when I am hungry, I need food right away or shit starts to break down.  Do you dream about food?  I ate a turkey and boysenberry pie in a dream last night.  Surprising, but delicious combo.
@MetsGirl18 I'm sorry about the bleeding.  That's such a horrible thing to go through when you've experienced loss.  Hopefully that was the last of it.
@szwill86 I'm sorry that your milestone is so far away.  hupp0013 phrased it right.  PGAL brain is a huge drain.  I hope these next few weeks fly by for you.
@littlebug2010  I was nervous making that commitment to buy new clothes.  I bought some leggings and loose shirts a few days ago and I feel so liberated.  "keep me from having to wear anything that buttons again!"  Let that be my mantra.
    @blueskies17  Fingers crossed for you!
  • @Lefin I told my DH that my 2017 resolution was to not wear buttons for the year! I am also a larger chested woman, and my boobs are already in a new set of bras.  And my new pants just feel so amazing!

I love your resolution @littlebug2010.   I'm jealous of your new bras.  I've got a cart of bras waiting to be purchased...I just haven't done it yet, because I'm afraid that they'll outgrow those, too.  Damn it, I should just do it.  Quad boob is no way to live.
  • How far along are you?  10+6

How are you doing?  Pretty good, not as nauseous as last week.

When is your next appointment? I had an appt today. The dr tried finding the heartbeat with a doppler but was unable to hear anything so she did an ultrasound and baby was fine and we were able to see a heartbeat.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I was tracking and temping  when we found out I was pregnant based on all my info my due date should be 8/9. When I had my first ultrasound my dr said my due date was 8/11 but today I was measuring at the 8/9 so I'm "updating my due date to 8/9"

GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song?  if not do you are your SO have a song?  We had a great time dancing all night at our wedding.

  • @Lefin Usually I only buy from Victorias but I cant justify that right now, so I have 2 new ones from target.  they are surprisingly comfortable, and were 20 bucks (for both!).  I will invest in some nice nursing bras later on, but seeing that Im only 11 weeks right now, it seems a bit early for that.

  • littlebug2010 Sigh.  So jealous.  Unfortunately, most stores don't carry my band or cup size, not even VS.  I've been mentally preparing myself to shell out a little extra to get the right size, but I think that staying upright for the next few months will be worth every penny!
  • @Lefin I understand.  Heres to hoping you can find an in-between bra that doesn't break the bank!

I'm Caitlin, turning 30 next month.  I have a five year old boy, but his twin sister was a still born, and I had a miscarriage a little over a year ago when I was about 8 weeks pregnant.

    How far along are you?
11 weeks...and only ONE baby this time.

    How are you doing?
Meh. I have been nauseous 24/7 for the last few weeks, and I already have a serious case of pregnancy brain.  Today I dropped my son off at school and realized I forgot to bring his backpack.  Got to work and realized his yogurt and orange were still in my purse.

    When is your next appointment?
    Thursday

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
My husband is seriously on my nerves constantly, and I can't tell if it's me being hormonal or if he is being extra frustrating.

My son has seriously been amazing, though!  He was not thrilled about another baby, but he talks about baby names, let's me take naps and sleep in, and he has picked out some of his toys that he wants to give to his "little brother" (he refuses to accept that it could be a girl).

GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song?  if not do you are your SO have a song?
We eloped, so no wedding song, but Echo by Incubus has always 'unofficially' been our song.
  • @britvahok I am glad you got a peek at baby!  Yay for an updated due date too!
@Lefin I hope your nutritionist appointment goes well tomorrow!
@littlebug2010 I am sorry your neighbor was a TW.
@blueskies17  I hope your appointment goes well and
@a2003tiger yay for great panorama test results!

Hi everyone, I wish I had better news to report. I had my first t/v ultrasound a few hours ago and was diagnosed with a blighted ovum. I didn't want to make a thread about it but I also didn't want to leave you all hanging. It has been great getting to know you all. Thank you for being so supportive.
