Re: PGAL Check-in Week of January 16
Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
I'm Amanda, I'm 35 and have two kids. I've had two miscarriages in hell last hear and conceived this baby directly after my last miscarriage (no period in between).
How far along are you?
12 weeks tomorrow!
How are you doing?
Great! Aside from the nausea and exhaustion, at least.
When is your next appointment?
Not for another three weeks.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I found the heartbeat on Doppler yesterday! It was in the 160s. I love listening to that.
GTKY: If your married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song?
We secretly took dance lessons. Our instructor made a medley of songs (including Train, Shania Twain and Natalie Cole) and we did an electorate surprise, choreographed first dance. It was so much fun!

Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
Becky, 39, married to Jacques, 43 - 2 sons, 3 MC.
How far along are you?
8 Weeks
How are you doing?
Ok every day there is no bleeding. Cranky AF the past couple days.
When is your next appointment?
February 8 with a high risk specialist.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I feel good, if stabby.
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song?
Married, but no wedding song or dancing. We are not dancers. When DH used to have specialized ring tones on his phone, his song for me was "Cherry Pie"
How far along are you?
9 weeks and 4 days (every day counts)
How are you doing?
I am just hoping I can make it to my appointment Friday! Morning sickness has taken over, which I like to think is a good sign. However, I ended up in the hospital Saturday for dehydration.
When is your next appointment?
Friday- I cant wait!!!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Suoer excited about my upcoming appointment! Super bummed my morning sickness has made me so sick. Funny note- on my hospital discharge papers, they wrote suggestions for combatting morning sickness. Number one was "Eat crackers." (Eye roll)
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song?
We had a super small wedding with just immediate relatives. So no dancing. However, I made a playlist for us on our wedding day and it included Drake's "Best I ever had" and K-Ci & Joni's "All my life", Among a few others.
@a2003tiger I used to dream of doing a choreograph dance at my wedding! That is super cool!
How far along are you? 8 weeks tomorrow
How are you doing? A lot better. Last Thursday I had my dating US and LO had a strong heartbeat. It was very reassuring to see.
When is your next appointment? Feb 1st.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: DS was so well behaved at playgroup today. And he's having a great nap now. I'm one happy mommy today.
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song? We danced to "I can't help falling in love with you" a cover by the Eels. We had a whole dance choreographed out as a surprise but 5 seconds into our dance my MIL also had a surprise of wrapping us in streamers. Apparently it is an Italian tradition? I was so disappointed.
@Kudlica27 I am sorry you ended up in the hospital! I hope your appointment goes well Friday!
@AKFarmerBecky every day with no bleeding is a big deal!
My name is Christine. I am 33. H is 30. We have a 4 YO DD and a 2 YO DD. I had a CP before DD2, as well as in March of 2016.
How far along are you? 8 weeks 6 days
How are you doing? Pretty good. I still have nausea and headaches, which is both great and not great.
When is your next appointment? Later today! I am so nervous and excited!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I messed up my neck yesterday somehow. It really hurts and I have pain radiating down my arm. I am missing ibuprofen a little bit today.
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song? We had our first dance to Open Arms by Journey. While we didn't have a super choreographed routine like @a2003tiger (which sounds awesome by the way!) we did learn a dance and took dance lessons for our first dance. H is dancing challenged and he wanted to have a great first dance.

How far along are you? 8 weeks today!
How are you doing? Still just feel like ass all day. Worse at night for sure tho. I don't remember waking up hungry at 2am with DS. #fatgirlproblems
When is your next appointment? Not til 1/30. That's my first appt and I cannot wait! I have a list of annoying crazy person questions printed out and ready to go for my OB. He's going to hate me.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I had the best weekend with my family! DS is 16 mos and it's just such a fun age. Everything he does has me in awe. I can't believe I could possibly feel this way about another mini human if this baby sticks!
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song? We got married in Jamaica. It was the most wonderful and intimate experience! My favorite band is 311 so I walked to their version of Love Song. It was perfect and beautiful. We had a reception back home but it was more just a reason to have a big ass party so we didn't do the standard wedding thing there either. No real "dance" per se.
Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time! I'm 37 and have 2 boys who are 8 and 4. I had a D&C just over a year ago and when I woke up from surgery, I was told I needed further testing because the doctor believed I had an ectopic pregnancy. I ended up going in for emergency surgery that night and lost one of my tubes. I didn't have the typical signs of an ectopic and there had been no indication of one on the sono I had several days before surgery. It was such an emotional roller coaster. I got this BFP exactly a year after the BFP from my ectopic.
How far along are you? 8w1d
How are you doing? It has been tough. Everything I went through last year has been on my mind a lot. Just as I was starting to relax a little, I had a bleeding episode last weekend and was a mess. I have a SCH. Luckily the bleeding stopped and the baby looks good, but I was already a nervous wreck checking the toilet paper constantly and worrying about every cramp or twinge. The second trimester still feels so far away. Plus, it doesn't help that I've been really queasy every late afternoon and evening for a few weeks. I'm looking forward to feeling better at some point.
When is your next appointment? I just had another sono today. My next appointment is 1/26.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm feeling a little better about things after today's appointment. I'm still nervous, but hopeful. It also made me happy that my EDD is on my grandfather's 100th birthday. He lost my grandmother in April so this should give him something to look forward to.
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song? Our Love is Here to Stay by Frank Sinatra.

How are you doing? better now that I had my first appt on Fri and my first ultrasound. Nausea is still all day but no puking yet. Still in my must eat can't eat nausea cycle.
When is your next appointment? 1/27 at 9+4
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: rave/rant: I'm happy to have had my first U/S, but I know I have a long way to go to pass my first milestone week when I lost my son. It sucks that my PGAL brain thinks this way.
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song? ours was "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes. DH was so worried about dropping me during the dip he wanted to do, but I've lived to tell that all went well

How are you doing? So. Nauseous. Also, I had my 3rd migraine today in the last 7 days so I had to take another nap in my car at work until I got my vision and feeling in my arms back. Honestly though, if it all means that the baby is healthy, I'll take it!
When is your next appointment? I have my first appt tomorrow with the OB on base. I don't think they'll do an ultrasound but I'm at least hoping to listen for the heartbeat!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm happy to have made it this far and even though it's past my loss timing I'm still terrified with every twinge and cramp! I just keep telling myself that I'm doing everything possible.
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song? By The Way They Dance it's by Jump Little Children. Not a very known song but cute.
I'm super jealous of everyone who could take dance lessons! My DH is in the military and was gone the 6 months before the wedding and left for another 6 the week after the wedding!

Im 28 for a week and a half longer! DH is 26. I had a MC in July, completely natural, and started to TTC right away.
How far along are you? 11 weeks today
How are you doing? Im doing better and better. I dont feel as sick as I had, and I am thinking that I am feeling a bit more energetic. Although my TW of a neighbor was super loud last night around 2am so I was super tired this morning.
When is your next appointment? I have my NT scan on the 27th, the day after my birthday. Im pumped that I will get to see the little bean again!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I already mentioned my TW of a neighbor, but I could go on! I think Im more pumped about getting new pants, and having enough leggings/jeggings to keep me from having to wear anything that buttons again!
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song?
My DH was in an a capella group through college, and we got married a month after he graduated. For his senior send-off song he sang Marry Me by Train. Many people thought that he was proposing, but if they had listened to the words (he changed a few) and to the person who introduced the send off, they would have known. So as a surprise, he had the group record the song for our wedding day, and we danced to it too! It was so sweet and personal. I will never forget it!

I'm 31 (today! ah!) and my DH is 39. We had a MMC at 8 weeks in October.
How far along are you?
9 weeks today (past the loss date!!!)
How are you doing?
Very nervous about my first appointment and ultrasound this afternoon. Trying to stay positive but it's hard.
When is your next appointment?
Today!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Praying for a good appointment today. (I sound like a broken record- clearly I'm not getting much done at work this morning!)
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song?
"You are the Sunshine of my Life" by Stevie Wonder
Happy birthday!! Good luck today at your appt. And yay for passing your previous loss date!
M/C #2 - October 2016
MMC #1 - April 2016
So many January birthdays here! Me too; I'll be 31 on Sunday. I keep forgetting about it. All I can think about is baby.
How far along are you?
A little over 10 weeks. How is that I feel like an eternity has passed since I found out, but at the same time I feel like I haven't made it anywhere? Sigh.
How are you doing?
Pretty good actually. I have PGAL moments. Still checking that toilet paper.
When is your next appointment?
Tomorrow, but that is a nutrition appointment. Ugh. It feel like a waste of perfectly good appointment space. I don't mean to sound derogatory to Nutritionists; I'd just much rather use that time for an ultrasound. The next appointment with the midwife is the 31st. Not sure if we'll be getting another ultrasound at that time. I hope so. getting to see the baby is such a relief. And I love watching my husband during an ultrasound. The look of amazement on his face is priceless.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I hope everything is going well for you ladies as well!
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song? No wedding song; we eloped. But we claim all of Jeff Buckley's Live at Sine as our own. An album instead of a song.
@dmbfan46835 I have also woken up hungry. It's crazy. And when I am hungry, I need food right away or shit starts to break down. Do you dream about food? I ate a turkey and boysenberry pie in a dream last night. Surprising, but delicious combo.
@MetsGirl18 I'm sorry about the bleeding. That's such a horrible thing to go through when you've experienced loss. Hopefully that was the last of it.
@szwill86 I'm sorry that your milestone is so far away. hupp0013 phrased it right. PGAL brain is a huge drain. I hope these next few weeks fly by for you.
@littlebug2010 I was nervous making that commitment to buy new clothes. I bought some leggings and loose shirts a few days ago and I feel so liberated. "keep me from having to wear anything that buttons again!" Let that be my mantra.
@blueskies17 Fingers crossed for you!

and congrats on a genetically healthy baby @a2003tiger !!! Such good news!!
How are you doing? Pretty good, not as nauseous as last week.
When is your next appointment? I had an appt today. The dr tried finding the heartbeat with a doppler but was unable to hear anything so she did an ultrasound and baby was fine and we were able to see a heartbeat.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I was tracking and temping when we found out I was pregnant based on all my info my due date should be 8/9. When I had my first ultrasound my dr said my due date was 8/11 but today I was measuring at the 8/9 so I'm "updating my due date to 8/9"
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song? We had a great time dancing all night at our wedding.

How far along are you?
11 weeks...and only ONE baby this time.
How are you doing?
Meh. I have been nauseous 24/7 for the last few weeks, and I already have a serious case of pregnancy brain. Today I dropped my son off at school and realized I forgot to bring his backpack. Got to work and realized his yogurt and orange were still in my purse.
When is your next appointment?
Thursday
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
My husband is seriously on my nerves constantly, and I can't tell if it's me being hormonal or if he is being extra frustrating.
My son has seriously been amazing, though! He was not thrilled about another baby, but he talks about baby names, let's me take naps and sleep in, and he has picked out some of his toys that he wants to give to his "little brother" (he refuses to accept that it could be a girl).
GTKY: If you're married, what was your wedding song? if not do you are your SO have a song?
We eloped, so no wedding song, but Echo by Incubus has always 'unofficially' been our song.
@Lefin I hope your nutritionist appointment goes well tomorrow!
@littlebug2010 I am sorry your neighbor was a TW.
@blueskies17 I hope your appointment goes well and

Hi everyone, I wish I had better news to report. I had my first t/v ultrasound a few hours ago and was diagnosed with a blighted ovum. I didn't want to make a thread about it but I also didn't want to leave you all hanging. It has been great getting to know you all. Thank you for being so supportive. I wish you all very happy and healthy pregnancies.
