Hello all! My name is Stephanie and I'm 26 years old and my DH and I have been TTC for over a year now (1 year this past September). Prior to TTC, I visited my OBGYN for my annual and had some general lab work done along with discussing TTC and coming off BCPS which I was on for years due to irregular cycles and problems with my period starting in high school. When you're a teenager, of course, you don't think much of these issues so long as the pill takes care of regulating it. After coming off of BCPS and months going by, I realized something wasn't right. Nothing but BFNs and no AF. I went back to my doctor the following February. She essentially told me I was young and that she would help us figure it out. I had a pelvic U/S done where they confirmed I have PCOS. Next, we tried 4 rounds of Clomid (following Provera because AF just doesn't arrive otherwise) with no luck. At that point, my OBGYN told me I needed to move on to a fertility specialist. So we did. I've had lots of lab work done for them as well, my husband had a semen analysis done and yesterday I went for an HSG. The radiologist determined at that time that I have a blockage in my right fallopian tube; the left side is fine. The films are being sent to the specialist and next weekend I will be due for my 21 day bloodwork to check my progesterone level again. Afterwards I am supposed to schedule a consult with the fertility specialist to discuss all results and determine a plan. I'll be honest, I was kind of suprised when I heard that I have a blocked tube. When you hear about these things, you never think it will happen to you. Anyone have experience with this or know much about it? It's a bit scary and I'm trying not to become further discouraged. Thanks in advance!

i got pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago without even thinking about it. Started trying for baby 2 almost 2 years ago, turns out one of my tubes is blocked. They have no reason to think it blocked since my daughter was born, my doctor said many people have a blockage and never know as the egg can drop from the good side. We did 3 rounds of clomid and our RE wanted to try opening the tube or do an IUI while monitoring which side the egg dropped. We're opting for IVF only because we hope for a third baby and hope to freeze embryos, we are so over this. But anyway I do have a friend who successfully unblocked a tube with a small surgery (she had endemetriosis) and another whose tube unblocked with the dye in the HSG test. It's all very possible, I have a 3 year old to show for it! Best of luck
