2: How was your last week? good 4 days in so far and will get 2 more in between today and tomorrow. So far 3 lifting/cardio and a long bike trainer workout. Pool is being funky so no swimming this week unfortunately. Eating wise good my appetite seems to have uptixked but I don't really need to gain much since I already have gained 10# so trying to focus on protein protein protein and less carbs in general except veggies

3: What are your goals for the week ahead?  same 5-6 days workouts and keep hitting the veggies and fruit and also focus on lower fat foods I have a tendency to favor fats even the good ones a bit too much

4: How are you going to treat yourself this week/celebrate your body and its accomplishments? eh probably nothing really have a busy weekend shooting a wedding

    5: Rants/Raves/Questions? Nah

6: GTKY: What is a favorite healthy go-to snack? probably a Quest Bar or hard boiled eggs

2: How was your last week? Good so far.  I've worked out 4 days, will probably hit the gym tonight and at least once this weekend.  I've been able to run just fine on the treadmill, and I've been doing that for about 30 minutes and then moving to another machine.  My right shoulder has been bothering me, so I haven't been doing as much weight training as I should be.  Maybe next week.

3: What are your goals for the week ahead? As I mentioned above, my shoulder has been super sore so I've been taking it easy on the weight lifting.  I might try to introduce some upper body moves next week depending on how it feels, but I definitely need to at least do lower body weight training.  I have a habit of being a cardio junkie - I find weight lifting so boring!

4: How are you going to treat yourself this week/celebrate your body and its accomplishments? I don't know!  Most of the time I celebrate my body by saying "Like my body?" to DH in my best Anna Nicole TrimSpa voice (I hope someone here remembers those commercials).

5: Rants/Raves/Questions? Meh - my shoulder, but I feel like I've bitched about it enough.

6: GTKY: What is a favorite healthy go-to snack? Almonds - they have to be salted though.  None of this raw almond b.s., I don't want to be too healthy.

  • @rachrach83 I'm the complete opposite with working out- HATE cardio and love weight lifting.i especially hate cardio machines but usually I do a good bit of swimming or I do an awesome road bike trainer that has a screen of an actual course you follow. With Crossfit it was all metcons and I loved those but this pregnancy my HR has not and my box kind fell apart anyways right when I got pregnant.

2: How was your last week?
Not as good as I'd hoped, but better than last week (so far). I've increased my exercise duration (yoga) and this morning I added some strength training into the mix. I'm still dealing with occasional m/s so that's really all I can do. Plus I had a few good walks.
3: What are your goals for the week ahead?
I'd really like to try to go to a yoga class tomorrow, for a full hour. The instructor is the first person I've ever learned yoga from, and her class will be a good re-introduction to working out in public (lol).
4: How are you going to treat yourself this week/celebrate your body and its accomplishments?
Paying for that yoga class! Lol. And hopefully going to the Motherhood Maternity outlet.
    5: Rants/Raves/Questions?
I just want to stop needing so much food first thing in the morning.
6: GTKY: What is a favorite healthy go-to snack?
I've been all about the Greek yogurt this week. Not as healthy as some things, but I can stomach it and it has protein and calcium, so I'll take it! When I'm feeling normal, I love apples or bananas with peanut butter, or banana-egg pancakes!

  • 1: How far along are you?  15 weeks

2: How was your last week? Last week was just ok like every other week. My goal was to get back to Zumba but I didn't.  However I did get swimming and yoga in. I purposely didn't want to do anything yesterday or today so I can walk well tomorrow. Having a lot of pain in my legs from the weigh and muscles loosing up.

3: What are your goals for the week ahead?  My goals are to get to Zumba, go swimming atleast twice, idk why but I want to do some water walking in the current pool but I wouldn't consider that a goal.

4: How are you going to treat yourself this week/celebrate your body and its accomplishments? Haven't thought about this, maybe lunch out on Friday? Love eating out! Even if it's just panera.

5: Rants/Raves/Questions? Having a lot of pain in between my legs. The doctor says it's because everything is loose and there's nothing I can do about it? I noticed the less I do with those muscles I have less problems. Anyone else have this? Or anyone else understand and have exercise suggestions? So far I'm swimming, water walking, eleptical and I've done yoga with moderations that didn't result in as much pain.

6: GTKY: What is a favorite healthy go-to snack? I just feel like everything is unhealthy now a days. I was craving smoothies but hate making them. I'd rather buy them but then they had extras and they're not as good for you, but still better than French fries I guess.
  • 1: How far along are you?  13w5d

2: How was your last week?  Better in some ways, but still needing improvement.  Eating healthier lunch, but now I need to adjust breakfast and dinner.  My nausea is mostly gone, so that should get easier.  Was planning on seeing the trainer Tues and Thurs, but bad weather cancelled Tues, so I only went Thurs.  I need to find something else to do on other days, but I don't want to spend a lot more money.  I have a treadmill, but it makes me dizzy, so I'm not sure what I want to try next.  Also: I loathe yoga.

3: What are your goals for the week ahead?  Eat healthier breakfast and dinner.  Definitely Tues/Thurs with the trainer, and I need to look into some other ideas.

4: How are you going to treat yourself this week/celebrate your body and its accomplishments? I really want to spend time relaxing with my little man.

5: Rants/Raves/Questions?  I need some ideas of what I can check out.  As mentioned, I want something (not yoga) that can help me get healthy.  I am not supposed to gain more than 15 pounds this pregnancy, and I'd like to try my best to keep it lower than that.  I managed to only gain 19 with DS but I really want to keep it low if I can.  I'm nervous to start something new, because they say that it's not always a great idea when pregnant.

6: GTKY: What is a favorite healthy go-to snack? Fresh fruit, particularly ones that you "snack" on, like blueberries and grapes.
  • 1: How far along are you? 13 weeks and 4 days

2: How was your last week? It was alright. Included more veggies into meals and ate out less and limited what I got when I did eat out less.

3: What are your goals for the week ahead? Eat more healthy items and less chips when snacking. Damn Sour Cream and Onion chips are my downfall.

4: How are you going to treat yourself this week/celebrate your body and its accomplishments? Finding special treats to give myself after a week well done.

5: Rants/Raves/Questions? None at the moment

6: GTKY: What is a favorite healthy go-to snack? Right now carrots and granola bars (although they are chocolate chip lol).

  • 1: How far along are you?  15 weeks, 1 day

2: How was your last week? Not the best.  I did start working out a little and although nausea was still hanging around the corner, I managed to cook instead of ordering out as much.

3: What are your goals for the week ahead?  I started a work out routine and feel like I can stick to it.  This is new to me and I really hope I can.  My goals are to workout 6 days this week and not eat any sugar/ honey.

4: How are you going to treat yourself this week/celebrate your body and its accomplishments?  I haven't bought any maternity clothes and really am starting to need some.  I think maybe I'll get a couple of yoga pants if I can stick to it.

5: Rants/Raves/Questions? Called myself doing my body a favor and made a spinach and banana smoothie  packed with 4 cups of spinach.  After drinking 2 small cups for lunch, I found myself on the toilet the rest of the evening with diarrhea.  Frustrated as I still have half the blender's worth in the fridge and absolutely will not drink it.  Need some more healthy options for getting more veggies in.  I get in plenty of fruit.  But vegetables are still lagging a bit. I do have a daily salad at dinner but need more.  Ideas?

6: GTKY: What is a favorite healthy go-to snack? Fruit smoothies.  But I'm sure the sugar (even from fresh fruits) can add up.  I love nuts but seem to have developed an allergy over time.  I'm into organic teas without all the added flavorings etc.

  • @morgarita If you love smoothies but hate making them, I'd suggest trying to do "smoothie bags." I'm the same way, so I started making them every weekend. I just freeze my oj and Greek yogurt in ice cube trays, then add those cubes and my fruits and veggies into 5 quart size zipper bags for the week. It takes me about 30 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday, but then during weekday mornings all I have to do is dump the bag into the blender and go!

@SparkyOne Maybe try starting with less spinach? 4 cups in one smoothie seems like quite a lot if your body isn't used to it. Maybe back off to 1 cup and increase from there? Also, have you tried roasted veggies? I LOVE tossing just about any veggie (carrots, brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, mushrooms) with a tiny bit of oil and a dash of salt and pepper. Roast at 400F - I could literally eat my weight in veggies this way. And if you use just a tiny drizzle of oil (just enough so they glisten) it's pretty healthy!

1: How far along are you? 12+3

2: How was your last week? Pretty good. No runs since it's been icy here. But lots of walks and a few rides on the trainer. Does tug of war with a 50 pound pit bull count as exercise? B/c that definitely gets my HR up!

3: What are your goals for the week ahead? It's supposed to warm up a bit later this week, so I'd love to get at least one run in. And of course walking and riding the trainer.

4: How are you going to treat yourself this week/celebrate your body and its accomplishments? I'm going to try extra hard to get moving even more. I feel my best when I'm active and have been really lucky that this pregnancy has allowed me to stay physical. Now if only the weather and sunlight would cooperate...

5: Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm so excited to have an extra day off tomorrow. DH has to work for a bit, but that will mean some uninterrupted time on the trainer followed by a good crochet session. I swear, I'm not 87!

6: GTKY: What is a favorite healthy go-to snack? Ooooh for once the GTKY is easy for me! Mix about 1 TBS of natural peanut butter and a drizzle of honey into plain, lowfat Greek yogurt (I never measure, but maybe 3/4 cup?) and serve with apple slices. It's definitely my go to snack. My go-to dessert lately has been Greek yogurt with a drizzle of honey, blueberries and a bit of chopped up dark or semi-sweet chocolate - it's just sweet enough but still pretty healthy. I also think I may have a slight addiction to Greek yogurt...

  • @RunRestRepeat I don't like running the blender, it's so loud. Maybe I need a different blender. If so I'd love to freeze them bc I feel like all my fruit either goes bad to fast or i run out half way they the week.
  • @morgarita hmmmm, that's a whole different challenge, then! Maybe blend them up at night and refrigerate overnight? I've done that before and it seems to work fine. Might change the consistency a bit, but it's never bothered me!

2: How was your last week? not great.  overslept swim class.  Meant to run twice during the week and just didn't make the time because i had so much work to do.  Then went to eat wings last night so I just feel gross.

3: What are your goals for the week ahead?  Trying to go on a 3 mile run and a 4.5 mile run/walk this weekend.

4: How are you going to treat yourself this week/celebrate your body and its accomplishments?
More like penance and punishment.  Probably try to eat better to balance out the lack of exercise.

    5: Rants/Raves/Questions?

6: GTKY: What is a favorite healthy go-to snack? Fruit.  It just makes me happy.
