I work from home and the hospital is about 10 mins away. The last time it was like being at a hotel. With a c section you stay for 5 days. They feed the husbands too, so on the last day we let them take the baby to the nursery and had a date night. We watched a movie and had dinner complete with apple pie ala mode. Lol
We live about 15 minutes from the hospital and my work (being 2.5 miles from my house) is a similar distance. There is a closer hospital (about 5 minutes away) but they don't specialize in labor and delivery. I chose the hospital I will deliver at specifically because it is a women's hospital, with labor and delivery being their primary purpose. It is a newer facility with an excellent NICU and hotel-like private rooms. DH and I stopped in last week to schedule a tour, and the lobby seriously feels like a fancy hotel lobby, not all hospital-like at all! I'm actually quite excited about it!

25 minutes to my hospital from home, 30 from work. We plan to do a walk through 'tour' of the hospital sometime before birth since we actually have never been there.
@wifeinraleigh28, You're in a good spot with Raleigh!I had awesome experiences at Rex and Wake Med. I was a little disappointed that Wake Med North wasn't open yet when I had my second because it was right next to my OB office, but it all worked out.
We live about 10-15 min from the hospital I'll deliver at and I work on the floor right above L&D. So going into labor at work would really work out best for me.
I was induced with DS so I'm not sure what to expect this time around. I'm hoping to go into labor on my own but we'll see what this LO decides!
We live 20 minutes away with no traffic. During rush hour it's about 35-40 mins.
I work where I'll deliver so that's easy enough.
There is a closer hospital but I want to deliver at my hospital with a level 3 NICU and the people I know. My son was admitted to the NICU and having my closest friends care for him made it a much easier stay.
My OBs office is 1 mile from my house. But she delivers at hospital 30 minutes from my house. Luckily it is only 5-10 minutes from my work. My Inlaws watch and live 100 feet from my house so child car is easy

WakeMed North is where I will be delivering! My OB office is right next door to it, and I love it! It's so pretty there.

@rmarble23 Bonus points if the scene is caught on camera during Zip Trip. Summer Fridays in MA are pure hell for travel north and south. Not as bad as the Cape, but my folks are in the lakes region of NH and I'm dreading Friday post-work car rides to visit them during the homestretch of this pregnancy. I might as well have a picnic on the side of 495 or 95.

You can get Marylous on this side of the bridge. Still South Shore, but I wouldn't say it's worth going over the bridge. I don't even go to the beaches down there anymore. It's an hour from me, same distance as RI beaches, and those have less traffic (and for the most part bigger beaches with cheaper parking even for out of state residents).
On the bright side of this traffic nightmare, if we have a light winter in terms of snow days, our last day of school is June 9 (my district started REALLY early this year). So I would be more inclined to head in early if labor starts before a rush hour time. But who knows.....that Friday afternoon traffic is BRUTAL in the summer.
@awillis DH nearly lost control of the car once when I squealed with excitement upon spotting a drive-through marylous in Duxbury. Sadly I think they tore it down end of last year.
That would be great if school gets out early for you. Less stressful for looming labor I would imagine.

I am partial to RI beaches.... just went to misquamicut yesterday. I got married in Narragansett at the light house. And never had much of an issue with traffic getting down there.
15/20 minutes depending on traffic. I'm delivering at a military hospital as well, so the biggest concern is how back up the gates are. My last birth was precipitous, and they are pretty much saying it's likely it will be even shorter. Everyone jokes I should just live at the hospital the last few weeks just in case, or baby will come flying out just about anywhere.

For DD the hospital I delivered at was in walking distance which was amazing. We have since moved but will deliver at the same hospital. It's still only about 15 minutes away.

My grandfather was in the navy and my uncle in the coast guard so salty brine has a special place in our hearts. I grew up watching all those boats coming and going.
I live about 15 min from the hospital and work between 45 min and an hour and a half. Gotta love the Nation's Capital. I assume if I go into labor at work, I'll uber home or to the hospital, depending on how quickly I progress.
I live about 25 minutes from the hospital I will deliver at. I have 3 within 15 minutes, but have to deliever at this hospital because of my cardiac issues I was born with. That and I know a lot of the NICU nurses at STL children's hospital since I use to work there! They are currently building to attach the NICU from children's to the L&D unit. Of course that won't be done til July. (My luck) I also work at a different hospital 20 minutes away.
I live about 5 min from the ER, 15 min from the birthing center, and only 1-2 min from the nearest ambulance. Plus, my last labor was 42 hours long. I am confident that we will have plenty of time to get to the hospital.
I live about 40 ish minutes. We live in a more rural community there's a hospital close there but I wouldn't deliver there. With my first son we had a little scare to the hospital kept us a little longer than normal just to make sure that we were good since we live further away but other than that no issues.
I'm likely facing a scheduled c-section so I'm not super worried but I'm about 10-15 minutes from the hospital with a couple of alternate routes if traffic is bad. Work however is about an hour away with traffic so I'll probably work from home the last couple weeks if I end up able to avoid the c-section and can go into labor on my own.
