WAYDTGKU: Cm, figuring out cycles after mirena removal, prenatals, BD, healthy living
R/R: husband has the flu. Has been throwing up for 2 days. I am now the sole caretaker of DD, DH (the biggest kid of all), and and brand new puppy. Somebody send me on vacation! Rave? I have next week off of work, and I CANT WAIT!
CS/Q: who does opks? Contemplating starting this cycle or next (If need be), and wondering how they work? Test same time? Test everyday? Start which cycle day? Info please!
GTKY: Where is the craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?"
When DH and I were dating, we went into a "haunted forest" and we totally did it at the top of the hike up. Looking back, I think about all the wild animals we could have I countered, but hey, young, wild, and free!
DH would probably say, at my old high school on the 50 yard line.
Me: 30 | DH:34 Married: 08/04/12 DD: 6 years | Born: 03/28/13 DS: 1 Year I Born 10/15/17
WAYDTGKU: PNVs, CoQ10, not temping or using OPKs this cycle, increasing my liquid intake, pomegranate juice, EOD
R/R: sleep. I just want sleep
CS/Q: I had pains on my right side last night that I *think* were O pains. Which I've never had before. But of course I'm not tracking anything this month so I have no idea if that could be accurate or if it was just gas pains.
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" I'm not very adventurous. The idea of getting caught is a complete turn off for me. So I guess we were at a hotel after my BIL wedding and there was a hot tub out side our floor-level balcony. It was late at night but a staff member walked by. I tried to reason with myself that it was too dark for him to see anything
*snip CS/Q: who does opks? Contemplating starting this cycle or next (If need be), and wondering how they work? Test same time? Test everyday? Start which cycle day? Info please!
I am sure there will be answers on this from more experienced OPK users, but since I am early on the board and bored, here are my two cents!
The day you start using them in your cycle depends on the length of your cycle, if your cycle is usually 28 days the advice starting CD 9/10 (and if it's longer/shorter you add or subtract from there), usually a full chart is included in OPK packs with the recommended test days, or should be easily available online.
From my experience, I'd recommend buying super cheap ones and test 2-3 times a day until you get your surge, then test one or twice more to confirm it's gone. I think times are not important, especially since you can O at different times each month.
The cheap ones are just strips and it can take some time to learn how to interpret them (as they are positive when the test line is = or > than the control line, so you need to have eagle eyes sometimes!), but this month they (and BBT) gave me huge peace of mind regarding my cycle, so I would highly recommend trying them!

R/R: Rant: Well, I was in tww for two whole days. My cycle was 28 days, and my luteal phase was 4 days if my Temps are to be believed. I'm not concerned yet, it's only my second cycle without provera or bcp. The first cycle was 23 days and this one was 28, so I'm thinking that my body is trying to sort this whole regular cycle thing out. Maybe this cycle I'll ovulate sooner.
Rave: I'm so excited to be having cycles on my own! Apparently all I needed was some thyroid medicine. My Temps are back down to pre-o this morning. It's so weird to see.
CS/Q: not much of a chart to stalk yet.
GTKY: we're not adventurous. We did it in every room of our first apartment. We were each other's first so it was exciting. We got a room mate 6 months after we got married so it kind of puts a damper on our adventurous sexcapades.

WAYDTGKU: nothing at the moment
R/R: Ugh, where to start. Last night, I attempted to initiate sex with DH, he showed no interest and after about a minute of trying with no decent response from him, I stopped trying and basically went to pout in the corner for the remainder of the night. His response to my attempt was that he would "rail me tomorrow." Fast forward to first thing this morning and I wake up to red on the TP. I make sure to put on a panty liner when and where DH can see me and then make sure to tell him as we're in the kitchen getting ready to leave, that he's not getting laid tonight. He told me that he saw and that he'll just apologize because I won't understand. The sex last night wasn't for TTC purposes but just because I'm a sexual creature and I enjoy being intimate with my husband not to mention I knew AF would be rearing her ugly head any day now. And apparently jacking off into a cup is so draining and tiring that he then can't manage to get it up 6 hours later. I guess I just need a dick to understand. Which was my response to him this morning in the kitchen. Ugh. Stupid men! Yesterday was the hardest thing he will have to do in this entire process and he was mildly complaining about it. I just want to smack him right now. And it's obviously CD1ish (I'm not sure if it's heavy spotting or actually AF). And I had my month rollover today! I just need to throw myself a little party tonight I think. Too bad I'm trying to eat better so I don't feel like such a fat cow.
Sorry for the long rant, if you read all that, you deserve these adorable gifs!

GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" This question would actually require a little thought from me. I've always been a bit more on the adventurous side so I've had sex some interesting places (at least I think so). If I remember, I'll come back later and answer it.

R/R: Rant: It rained so everyone was driving like a crazy person on my commute in this morning, DH says he is getting a cold...again (he can't tell the difference between a cold and normal winter sinus crap), annnnd I walked in on one of the construction guys using the bathroom at work (it's an all gender restroom) so that was a bit awkward. Rave: The construction guys are good sports about all our office quirks which makes the disruption almost bearable. I have been trying to bribe them with beer to cause some kind of major power issue so I can go home...they haven't taken the bribe yet...
CS/Q: nothing.
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" Hmm probably in the woods. One time, when H and I were early on in our dating, we did it in a burger king parking lot and umm smashed his truck up. Oops.
@kmornelas29 sorry YH is sick!!!! I use OPKs, until this cycle I had been using wondfos...they are cheap and I like to pee on things so I didn't feel guilty everytime I used one. However, last month I struggled with reading them...it really bothered DH that he couldn't distinguish the lines well either (more so than me). So this month I bought CB to try...they are way more expensive though. My plan is to use the wondfos leading up to my suspected FW then start using the CB. Truthfully, I am just figuring this out as I go along.
@purplg8r I am getting info on acupuncturist specializing in fertility in your area! Sent a message to my cousin yesterday... I will message you when I hear back!
WAYDTGKU: pnv, temping, cm, mainly waiting for the weekend to get busy
R/R: My DH is sick with a cold or something as well. I'm hoping he's better by fertile week next week. He's been acting like a big baby when it suits him.
CS/Q:nope
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" With an ex we once hiked to a deserted beach. No one was at the beach but boats passing by could see us.
@kmornelas29 I started with the clear blue digital OPKs initially. I made a few mistakes with those at the start because you must start them a few days before O to get a baseline and once you get a positive (a smiley face) you can't test again for like 48hrs. Now I use the wondfo cheapies from Amazon so I can test whenever I want. My cycle is pretty regular, about 26/27 days usually and I start testing about day 10 but that's because in my one year of tracking I've always O'd between CD12 and CD 15. If you have no idea then you can start after your period or about CD 7 and do once a day until they start getting darker then twice a day until positive ( for the cheapies that's when test line is ar least as dark as control).
ETA @lulu1180 sorry you DH is being a pain and sorry for CD1. Hugs to you. @Mythril sorry for CD 1 but yay for having cycles on your own!
R/R: *possible TW* I had a super vivid bfp dream last night. I was even excited for a second when I woke up... and then my brain woke up and remembered that I'm not KU. It's so irrational, but I was really bummed this morning because of it.
CS/Q: Ooof. Some crazy hormonal shizz was going on yesterday. I had a killer headache that was impervious to medicine and a random patch of EWCM.
GTKY: H and I were high school sweethearts and had to get pretty creative in the early days! I was a lifeguard during the summers and we definitely HIO in the guard office early one morning. Now my idea of risky is leaving the light on!
@BertieMeetsGertie GL today, girl!! Be sure to treat yo' self after the procedure! @lulu1180 So sorry for CD1(ish) and that YH was a turd last night. WAYDTGKU: prenatal vitamins, tracking cycles a bit but it's early on still
R/R: My first natural period after stopping the pill ... it has been dragging on, heavy and painful, not pleasant. I think my periods used to be like this but that was 10 years ago when I was 18, so I thought that maybe they'd be a little different. Hoping I don't have to have too many... I may be one of the few who misses the ease of the pill!
CS/Q: I don't know what this means! lol I'll have to go look these up until I remember more acronyms.
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" On a TV set after it was shut down ... paranoid the cameras were on but they weren't!
WAYDTGKU: back to all the things and testing with RE
R/R: Excited to call my RE and let him know AF came last night so I can start testing. I started watching Sopranos because I finally finished Gilmore Girls. My H has some stipulations with watching Sopranos because he has already seen it and he wants to see the finale and the first episode of every season while I'm watching, so he puts a damper in my binging. So I also started Divorced last night too. Quick 30 minute episodes so I am sure I will buzz through that.
CS/Q:nope, just trying to get back into the cycle of temping. I almost forgot this morning.
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" Public beach picnic table
@purplg8r My PA at the RE asked me yesterday if I ever have O pains and I said I don't think so, I try to feel something really hard each time but I am pretty sure its just a gas pain. And she told me that is the most common thing women say, so she thinks I am actually feeling O pain. @lulu1180 I'm sorry, we are all here for you!

Take some time to check out the newbie post and lurk (if you haven't already), there is some great information there! CS/Q = chart stalk/questions. I too miss the ease of being on the pill!
Thank you!!! I appreciate it. I have lurked for a few weeks and finally am brave enough to post, haha. I wanted to get the rules and stuff down first. It seems like a really helpful community
@kmornelas29 I definitely recommend the OPKs! Super peace of mind. I also recommend testing twice a day leading up to FW- this past month I tested pos in the morning of cd16 and by the late afternoon it was stark negative again
@lulu1180 I'm so sorry for hard (or not so hard...) night! Getting rejected by H is the WORST. Sometimes I feel like men's D's are wild animals that need to be approached calmly, gently and not too aggressively or they will run away. Oh man. DH and I used to be crazy kids. Lots of car stories but the naughtiest was in the car at the parking lot of a church (at night, no one around, but we still felt a little guilty about it) Now we think we're daring if we move it into the living room.
@lulu1180 Sorry you had a bad night last night! We did too (for different, complicated reasons) and I just hate fighting/disagreements/tension etc. I just want everyone to be happy!

In an outside shower (at a beach house) in the rain
@hartmich: Sorry it has been difficult dealing with your loss lately. Hugs.
@bluejeanbabi05: I love yoga, but soreness is tough when you are just getting backing into it.
@lulu1180: Sorry your DH is being difficult. DH has been grumpy at times when I initiate and it irks me so much. If I don't want to have sex when he initiates, he pouts so much. But when it's the other way around, he is the grumpy one that gets irritable. Men.
Well everyone, FF gave me cross hairs today. I am think O has occurred although I am a bit skeptical about when exactly given my nights of being sleep deprived, taking medication and continuing to get positive OPKs after the date that FF says O occurred...but I guess I will have to see if/when FF arrives.
FX to everyone and hopefully see you over in TWW soon!
R/R: I was fairly productive last night and if DH cleans the house today we should be good to get on the road tonight. I hope it works ok for the twins to eat in the car...its a 5 hour drive and I'd rather not get in at 1am... I HAVE A LONG WEEKEND AND AM NOT ON CALL!!! (for those that don't know i am on call 24/7/365 for my job and 3 months ago my only back up quit so I have not been able to go anywhere, but I was able to find someone else willing to cover for me, hallelujah)
CS/Q: my chart is a TW. blazing pos OPK with creamy CM yesterday, today neg OPK but no temp rise...ugg It looks like a false surge which happens but this is late in my cycle for that...so O may be late this month. My temps are still very steady (super unusual for me) but they did go down 0.1 so I don't think my thermometer is favoring temps. NOTE TO THE LURKERS you are regular till your not, bodies do weird things for no apparent reason this is why we temp, use OPKS and check CM/CP.
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" mmm I'm reasonably adventuresome.... in a parking lot, golf course, beach, woods, construction site...
@kmornelas29 so it depends... there are three types.. there are the internet cheapies that you dip and compair the darkness of the lines (test must be equal to or darker than control to be +) these are cheap and then you dont feel bad peeing on a ton of them, but some find deciphering line color challenging. For these its recommended to have at least a 2hr hold and use SMU or test in the afternoon. That being said I test withFMU but I have a long surge. There are the clear blue digital (smiley face or open circle). These you pee on and are easy to interpret but $$. than there is the CBDA with the flashying smiley, this tracks estrogen also so you have to start it ahead of time, some women get days or weeks of flashing smiley faces, and then once you get a peak its done for the cycle. (I think but don't know for sure that it could be a problem if you get multiple surges) it is also $$. if you have shorter cycles you would want to test earlier, if your cycle tends to be 28-30days than starting around day 10 is fine, if your cycles are longer you may want to hold off till later. really when to start is dealers choice. For most women testing once a day is good, but if you have shorter surges you may want to test 2-3 times a day.
@mythril hooray for cycling on your own @lulu1180 hugs. I'm sorry DH was not up for BD last night after his SA. this whole process sucks sometimes @jess0211 way to wreck a truck! @virginiaham fx for you this cycle @holsam welcome @BertieMeetsGertie GL today girl. Ihope the whole procedure is NBD and that no clamp is needed

TTC 1/2012 Diagnosed : unexplained infertility 6 rounds of IUI and a MC 2/2014, rainbow twins 4/2015 TTC #3 5/2016 Restarted Fertility tx IUI 2 rounds, baby girl 12/17
R/R: I thought the support group was good, it was small this month (only 3 people) but it sounds like it fluctuates from month to month. It was nice to have a group of people to talk to who "get it," and to have a resource for reviews/referrals to different Drs and facilities in our area. I'll definitely go back, especially since it's once a month.
Our RE appointment yesterday also went about as well as can be expected. She spent a lot of time explaining how she would handle IVF with ICSI....no surprise considering the situation. She also wants to repeat H's SA with a different lab, which is great because I wanted a recheck. It hasn't quite been 3 months, but I'd be interested to see if the vitamins he's on and lifestyle changes have made any impact at all. She also gave him referrals to urologists specializing in fertility, so that he can start checking out potential problems and solutions. They drew blood to recheck my thyroid to see if that's still up, and she wants to do an HSG next cycle, but that's pretty much it for me. Given H's issue, she wasn't as concerned about my potential issues because if his numbers don't move up, either way we're looking at IVF. If we can get him bumped, maybe that changes the picture a bit.
Idk, I think I'm still absorbing.

WAYDTGKU: temping, CM, PNV....and my wondfo OPKs and HPTs arrive tomorrow.
R/R: Here I am after I guess a 33 day cycle. Almost thought it was 34, but after my shower, it turns out to be CD1 . At this point I just wanted a new cycle to try again.
CS/Q: Nothing yet. temp this AM was 98.2, and it was my first time not doing it orally.
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" We were pretty wild in our teen years. On the roof of my house was probably the craziest.
WAYDTGKU: you know the drill. Gonna call my OB today and see if they have my US results. Gonna HIO anyways cuz I got a nearly positive OPK this morning, and tomorrow is my usual O date, but I'd love to hear all about how I don't have cancer and how I have many many really pretty follicles *fingers crossed*.
R/R: Rave: bought new moisturizing foundation and I LOVE it. My skin has been so incredibly dry and flaky, so I've been trying coconut oil like @ChefRamsay recommended and ordered some other moisturizers to try at the recommendation of a few other TTGP ladies (sorry, it would take me for-eva to go back and tag all of you). But, since I was in town yesterday and in need of foundation, I bought some BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel. So far it's helping a lot!
Rant: after my lovely O two nights ago (the -gasm type, not -vulation), my DH mentioned (as nicely as possible) that he could do a better job with oral if I took care of the hair down there LOL. In my defense, I usually get monthly Brazilian waxes, but I've missed my last two appointments due to winter weather and bad roads. DH could really care less if I get waxed or not, its more for me, but I guess it makes a difference when giving oral - NO FURTHER INCENTIVE NEEDED, THANKS! So, I busted out my wax pot and gave myself a brazilain last night. I've done it before, but it's never super fun.
CS/Q: nothing to see
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie" (sorry I hate that phrase) had sex? oh man, lots of places. On balconies, on a trampoline in my friend's backyard, in the woods next to our parked car, in the car, on our boat, on the beach, every place imaginable in our house...
R/R: I'm off today, yay ! I really should be doing housework but instead I am sitting on my butt. Needing to find my motivation ......
DF and I decided to pull off this clean eating, healthy lifestyle. We pretty much cut out booze. Last night we ended up having a couple drinks. This morning we both decided we didn't enjoy having a buzz and we really just don't want to drink anymore.
CS/Q: I'm not temping this month. Usually get my crosshairs between cd 13-17. If you weren't temping when would you decide to headband to the TWW ?!? I'm glad I didn't temp this month and let DF take the lead but the guessing is tough.
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" Maybe not the craziest but we live in a very private setting. No houses. One night in the summer df and I ordered pizza and in between calling and waiting we decided to get down and dirty on the side doorstep. The pizza man came up our driveway and we were naked from the waist down. We crawled in the house and threw our clothes on and went to the door. Not 100% sure we got inside before he seen two white asses crawling across the step.
@kmornelas29 Dont forget to take care of yourself too !! Hope DH is feeling better soon.
Posting my update and heading into a meeting. I'll be back later for comments!!

@purplg8r don't you love the SS that occurs even in WTO? I do the same thing.
@Mythril wonderful news that the thyroid meds are helping!!!
@lulu1180 your DH is acting like a self-important douche. Maybe he's feeling insecure about his inability to perform or the possible SA results. Or, if he's just being a douche, tell him that my DH initiated BD the evening after his SA - meaning that even people with dicks don't understand.
@virginiaham sending you hugs and such good vibes.
@bluejeanbabi05 ha, I think I answered your wish for a controversial post in UO. I honestly meant no harm by it, but I'm sure it'll ruffle some feathers!
@zwink1 I'm glad you liked the support group and found it helpful. And I hope your journey with this RE continues to be helpful and productive. I'll certainly be interested in your DH's repeat SA results.
@heatherdubrow ugh, that would drive me nuts too. You'd think she'd be a LITTLE more sympathetic to your situation.
ETA @BertieMeetsGertie so glad the biopsy is over, and FX for the results!

@JuneRoseRuby I was in the salon/spa industry for years (although I never waxed clients), and have been getting brazilians for 13ish years, so I think that experience helps. Also, I use hard wax, which I think is a lot easier to deal with than soft wax.
Funny cuz I've only been here less than a month or so, so I'm still a newb to the board, although not to TTGP. Really tho, for me the newb thing is less "who dare cometh into mine domain" and more just me being envious of women just starting this journey. I remember how excited and optimistic and naive I was and I miss that. Their bright and shinyness makes me a little sad sometimes.
Wow I'm depressing so here's a gif to make up for that
@bluejeanbabi05 agreed. I should add that I have total respect for newbies who intro and are active participants. I get a little annoyed at those who intro-and-ghost or P&G everyday, though.
Maybe I'm just extra irritable because I'm close to O lol. I find that I'm far more emotional/irritable around O than I am during PMS.
R/R: Rant: We're in the process of moving. All of these showings (5 in one day last week) and some agents are driving me nuts. We have a dog who would freak out if people were in our house and he was in his crate so we say no showings unless we are available to take him somewhere (I'm at home studying for the bar and DH works afternoon shift so thankfully it's not that bad right now). HOWEVER. When I tell an agent you cannot come at 10 and you can come at 2:30 or later the same day, it makes me ragey that she requests then to come at 10:30. NO. I'm not home to goof around (although I do enjoy being on TB on study breaks), I'm trying to pass the bar. Bye. Rant over.
CS/Q: How long did it take to start ovulating after getting off the pill? Last month I am pretty sure I never ovulated (I'm using wondfos and the test line never got as dark or darker than the control line). I know everyone is different! Just curious.
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" Oh man. Umm. Back in my day I was a little more exciting than I am now. I guess outside of my undergrad's fieldhouse. Or in the stockroom of a place I used to work at. Sorry DH.

When DH and I were dating, we went into a "haunted forest" and we totally did it at the top of the hike up. Looking back, I think about all the wild animals we could have I countered, but hey, young, wild, and free!
DH would probably say, at my old high school on the 50 yard line.

@mythril hooray for cycling on your own

@HolSam Welcome !!!
@dragonfly87 Goodluck in the TWW.

@lulu1180 Hugs to you today. TTC definitely complicates sex. I hope he gets his shit together.

R/R: ok, biopsy is done! They didn't have to use the dreaded clamp, thank god!! I had some really intense cramping during the procedure, but it was only for a minute. I'll have cramping the rest of the day and some spotting. I don't think we are allowed to have sex for at least a week or two, so km hoping the 2 BD sessions were in FW. Thank you all for your good wishes! You ladies are the best!

@JulesDP ugh the BFP dreams are the worst.
@virginiaham sending you hugs and such good vibes.
@bluejeanbabi05 ha, I think I answered your wish for a controversial post in UO. I honestly meant no harm by it, but I'm sure it'll ruffle some feathers!
@hartmich
@dragonfly87 GL in TWW!

R/R: Today is my Friday, and tomorrow starts my 4 day weekend, so yay!!!! Also, apparently DH's work trip next week won't be quite as long as expected, so we will only end up missing two FW days. I just wish they weren't the two days leading to my expected O day.
CS/Q: nothing to see...
GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?" In a tent...very quietly...with someone else sleeping on the other side. I feel dirty just typing that. We were young, don't judge me!

@lund a self wax... wow. I tried once and couldn't bear to rip it off and had to get into the shower to soak it off. Someone I know ripped a lip doing it to her self and that's all I could think about. Blood everywhere. AAAAAHHH

Wow I'm depressing so here's a gif to make up for that
eta: shinyness? Shininess? Shineness?
Maybe I'm just extra irritable because I'm close to O lol. I find that I'm far more emotional/irritable around O than I am during PMS.
@Pinky917 No judgement here. This GTKY is bringing up a lot of naughty memories. Enjoy your 4 day weekend !!
@LuND I'm with you. I didn't even know what "whoopie" was. I panicked for a second wondering if whoopie was something I should make !! Lol

GTKY: Craziest place you have ever "made whoopie?"
Oh man. Umm. Back in my day I was a little more exciting than I am now. I guess outside of my undergrad's fieldhouse. Or in the stockroom of a place I used to work at. Sorry DH.
love your gif! I want all of them
