How big is baby? Plum/Chicken Nugget
Upcoming appointments this week? No. I had an appt last Friday and it went great! Got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Feeling much more confident about this pregnancy now.
Any new symptoms or changes? I *think* my MS might be on it's way out! Hallelujah! Still having random bouts of extreme fatigue. I think I need to be better at regulating how often I eat.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Have any of you used a doula before? I was thinking about hiring one. My OB said I probably wouldn't need one because the nurses at my hospital are trained in med-free labor. But I'm still thinking that extra support would be good.
GTKY: What's the best vacation you've ever been on? My favorite vacation was in 2011 with my DH on the west coast. We flew out to San Francisco, met up with friends and spent a few days in Yosemite. Went back to SF, then started driving up the coast to Portland where we met up with some more friends and explored the city for a few days. Loved the mix of time with friends and time with just DH. The drive up the coast was absolutely perfect

How far along are you? 13 weeks
How big is baby? Lemon
Upcoming appointments this week? No
Any new symptoms or changes? I don't feel as exhausted all the time but MS seems to still come and go randomly. Still having food aversions and cravings for crap.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant- I have the stomach bug and I am so miserable! I've been throwing up since 2am. I am so thirsty and just want to drink something. I haven't slept at all either because my stomach is just so uncomfortable.
GTKY: What's the best vacation you've ever been on? Honeymoon to the Atlantis in the Bahamas. We had so much fun acting like kids on the water slides, we went to some beautiful restaurant called Dune one night for dinner. It was so nice to relax and spend time together since we both work a lot. It was a magical week. So corny but true.
How far along are you? 14 weeks - officially second tri!
How big is baby? Peach
Upcoming appointments this week? Nope. Not for over two weeks
Any new symptoms or changes? I haven't been sleeping through the night again. I went a good few weeks or so and that spurt has ended. I'm also constantly having to blow my nose. Oh - and I'm STARVING.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Just excited to be in second tri and to helpfully start getting my energy back so I can exercise. I've probably gained 6-8lbs and I feel disgusting.
GTKY: What's the best vacation you've ever been on? I don't vacation a lot. I usually go on short trips to concerts and stuff. But I did take a family vaca to FL this summer and that was fun. I hadn't been to the beach in 15 years.
@born2runrn Sorry about the stomach bug. Hope it goes away quickly!
@ginger1228 I feel you on the struggle to sleep through the night. Lately I've been waking up at 5:00 am starving!
How far along are you? 13 weeks
How big is baby? lemon
Upcoming appointments this week? Nope, next one is next Thursday
Any new symptoms or changes? Still dealing with the crappy ulcer after a frustrating GI appointment last week. The nausea seems to be subsiding though, so at least what I can eat mostly stays down now.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Has anyone started checking out daycares yet? Someone asked me about it yesterday and I started freaking out thinking maybe I'm behind schedule.
GTKY: What's the best vacation you've ever been on? DH and I love to visit Austin. This past summer we also went on a road trip around New England which was pretty awesome.
How far along are you? 13 weeks
How big is baby? Peach
Upcoming appointments this week? I have an appointment with a fetal maternal care specialist on Friday
Any new symptoms or changes? Nausea related to smells has come back with a vengeance.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope
GTKY: What's the best vacation you've ever been on? Puerto Vallarta with my family when I was about 16. We were able to go swimming with Dolphins while we were there. I loved every second of it.

@SaphireSweetie88 - do you have an iPhone? Try the BellaBeat shell app. Free and SO cool for hearing the HB.
@SpongeWorthy - NoCal was my most favorite vaca ever two! We spent two weeks traveling north from SanFran through the Redwoods, inland to Klamath, then ended in Napa. Best of all worlds!
14 weeks along
nectarine size
no appointments this week
symptoms --- Yay!! I'm finally more awake and feel like I'm returning to the land of the living after a nasty cold
R/R/Q - Rant- ugh, why would my daughter start crying for a pacifier at 21 months old ... she NEVER wanted one as a baby. Now, she found one and won't put it down. Rave - WooHoo for snow. Love having a lazy day at home and another long weekend!!

@ginger1228 Yay for 2nd tri! I'm right there with you on the runny nose. It seems like ever since my BFP I have been going through tissues like crazy.
@abjm0325 I am actually touring a daycare this week. The only reason I'm going so early is they have an 18 month waiting list (which is crazy), so I feel like I have to jump on it if that's the way I want to go.
@SaphireSweetie88 No worries! GL with your appointment Friday. I can't imagine how stressful it must be (especially with that jackhole relative calling you about it). FX everything comes back low risk!

How far along are you? 15 weeks
How big is baby? An orange
Upcoming appointments this week? Midwife on Wednesday.
Any new symptoms or changes? I got a nasty little cold, happily on the mend now though.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Being sick while pregnant is lame. Super lame.
GTKY: What's the best vacation you've ever been on? I took my family (mom, sister, niece, and DH) to the Big Island for my birthday last summer. My niece is 4 and had never been on an airplane, let alone to Hawaii. It was magical. I want to make it a yearly event.
@born2runrn, that sucks you caught a stomach bug, get well soon.
@ginger1228, welcome to 2nd trimester!
@abjm0325, no advice on daycare but good luck!
@SaphireSweetie88 I hope your MFM appointment goes well.
@egm2015 sorry to hear you were sick too. Hopefully you fully recover soon.
How big is baby? Plum or Clementine
Upcoming appointments this week? We have the NT Scan on Saturday 1/14 because she couldn't get a good image at my last appointment on 1/4 with the abdominal ultrasound and didn't like doing it with the internal. I think she was new.
Any new symptoms or changes? Nausea is better! I had a quick bout this morning, but it's been pretty good. It's like my body knew I hit 12 weeks because I've had more growing pains in my uterus than ever! But not super painful and no bleeding, so that's good!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Just plain moody. About a lot of things and trying to snap out of it.
GTKY: What's the best vacation you've ever been on? DH and I went to NYC last May and it was amazing!!! We saw and did so much in our short six days there and I would love to redo that again.
Good luck this week ladies!

Upcoming appointments this week?
Thursday. I'm not exactly sure what this appointment will entail but hoping to hear baby's heartbeat.
Any new symptoms or changes?
The biggest change for me is that I have been having difficulty sleeping at night. I can't seem to get comfortable so it seems like I'm awake a lot of the night which only adds to the fatigue I have been feeling. On a positive note, overall the fatigue seems to be getting better.

GTKY: What's the best vacation you've ever been on?
A couple of years ago, my husband took me to Ohio to meet his extended family there. It was so much fun hanging out with all of them. We took one day while we were there for just the two of us. We spent the day traveling to wineries in the area and laughing, meeting new people. It was so much fun!

Thanks! My appointment went well. DH & I spoke with a genetic counselor to go over risk percentages of our baby having a heart defect at birth, etc followed by a NT test (u/s and blood test). The measured the level of fluid to make sure it was in the range for the normal amount (which it was!! YAY!!). The also drew my blood to check that as well for anything that may be concerning for the baby.
I have to go back there in 7 weeks for my anatomy scan unless the blood test comes back with something concerning. I doubt that there will be anything in the blood test because everything on the u/s looked really good.
I was amazed at how clear the images on the ultrasound were compared to the ones I get from my regular OB. Lol. They even gave me a disk of all the different pictures / shots they took during the ultrasound.

Yes I feel less stressed. I am still anxious for the results of the blood test but that's part of the process I guess.
