1) how old are you and where are you from?
-43...born and raised in SoCal but moved to a town about 30 mins south of Houston a year and a half ago.

2) is this your first rodeo or do you have other kiddos?

-have a DD born Sept 2016

3) how are you feeling so far?

-headaches have appeared in full force!

4) any thoughts or concerns about this pregnancy? 

-just have pgal brain...I had a loss at 8wks last April so I'm terrified of another loss. Told myself I'd try for another through the end of the year and I ovulated on 12/25...so just made it in!

5) when are you due and do you want to know the sex or are you team green?

-due date based on ovulation is 9/17 (lmp is 9/18). My DD's due date was 9/18 but she was born 9/9 via induction (had heart decelerations). So I'm clearly into making Christmas babies lol!
Team I WANNA KNOW! yay for AMA blood work and finding out early!

SORRY! Here I am - you know I loathe the mobile bumping, @Sugargirl1019, haha! Thank you, @Texafornian for starting the AMA thread!

1) how old are you and where are you from? I am 40 and I live in south Alabama, on the Gulf Coast.

2) is this your first rodeo or do you have other kiddos? This will be our first child.

3) how are you feeling so far? Feeling pretty good so far. Mostly bloating and I had some acne issues, I seem to be starting to get nauseous at night but thankfully it's not affecting my sleep. Yet.

4) any thoughts or concerns about this pregnancy? The PGAL is strong in this one. Being 40 and under the care of an RE, I have been used to check ups every 2 - 3 days since December 27. Now I am having to wait a full week for an u/s and check up and it's driving me to distraction. 

5) when are you due and do you want to know the sex or are you team green? September 5 and oh we will find out!

@PurpleRains I got pregnant with my daughter at 40 and gave birth 6 days after my 41st birthday so I feel ya on the request checkups (albeit not from an RE and from ovulation on!). It does have it's perks...I had so many ultrasounds it was fabulous to get to see her so often lol. I just did my first draw this morning and have my second to check levels on Thursday...PRAYING for a sticky baby. They're having me start progesterone vaginally tonight as my level today was 13.2 and they'd like it to be at least 15. 
So if all goes well...which i'm sending all of the good juju into the universe and having daily chats with God, i'll be turning 44 a week before this little bean. Crazy to think my GRANDMA was 42 when I was born...pshhhh. lol

3) how are you feeling so far? Nervous because I had a MMC in August so I'm just concerned about it happening again. Even though the doctor said there's no physical reason why I can't have a perfectly healthy pregnancy.

4) any thoughts or concerns about this pregnancy? Just taking it a day at a time. Will probably get excited when I see a heartbeat!

5) when are you due and do you want to know the sex or are you team green? September 16th and we definitely want to know the sex! LOL

way better than first pregnancy, let's hope it stays that way! 

4) any thoughts or concerns about this pregnancy? 
I was never concerned with my first, however since my younger sister in law is pregnant and she has reminded me of what her doctor said about getting pregnant after 35, I'm alittle concerned!  Once I see the bean and hear the heart beat I'll feel better.  Hoping for the early genetic screening as well since Downs runs in our family.  Having old eggs is not a good sign!

Team greenish.... we have hopes of holding out I suspect we will cave!

I guess I can check in here, now that I'm probably going to be considered AMA (at least by my insurance company)

1) how old are you and where are you from?
I'm 34, turning 35 in mid-August (about a month before EDD).  I live in Colorado!

2) is this your first rodeo or do you have other kiddos?
Not my first rodeo, but it still feels fresh and new!  Different pregnancy, different experiences.

3) how are you feeling so far?
Great.  Actually, nearly exactly the same.  I'm a bit tired pretty consistently, but that's to be expected.

4) any thoughts or concerns about this pregnancy? 
None as of yet.  I'm excited to get all of the extra u/s being AMA, but will probably deny extra blood/DNA/invasive testing unless my CNM/OB strongly recommends.

5) when are you due and do you want to know the sex or are you team green?
According to my LMP and O date, EDD is 9/14.  I'll confirm at my first appointment on 2/3.  I love the idea of team green, but I know myself.  I need to know.  We'll do an elective u/s around 16 weeks (we did this with DS) or I'll figure it out during one of my many u/s

@Sprite2012 that extra blood testing you get being AMA will actually tell you the sex of your baby around week 11...You can ask and see if your insurance is going to cover it. I'd think so seeing as you mentioned they're considering you AMA.
I'm all for the extra tests but not for anything invasive unless it's deemed medically necessary.

@jillibean0871 try not to be concerned with the age number! It's not like your eggs are awesome at 34 and then BAM, they all suck at 35. Yes, age can play a factor with abnormalities but try not to stress about it. If it makes you feel better, I got pregnant with my FIRST child at 40 and was a big ol' hot mess through most of it because I kept freaking out about the age thing and the what ifs. I couldn't even relax until I had her in my hands. lol  This time i'm around i'm 43 and will give birth at 44! So i've got quite a few years on you and things can turn out ok. Sending you lots of healthy baby juju.

3) how are you feeling so far? Waves of nausea started about a week ago. Hoping it won't get worse and will end early! I'm exhausted too.

4) any thoughts or concerns about this pregnancy? I've had a sense of peace with this pregnancy (my last ended at 14wks) so I'm not stressing. Does no good anyway.

5) when are you due and do you want to know the sex or are you team green? Sept 3. We didn't find out the sex last time and that was a fun surprise at birth, but we're planning to find out as soon as possible this time.

3) how are you feeling so far?
i feel terrible. I'm nauseated and dizzy all day. I'm not throwing up but feel just awful all the  time.

4) any thoughts or concerns about this pregnancy? 
Im really concerned about working while feeling this awful. With my daughters I threw up a lot but I don't remember feeling this bad.  

5) when are you due and do you want to know the sex or are you team green?
i am due around 9/12 I think. Because I feel different than with my girls I think it may be a boy and will want to know when I can!

@wellhithen did you mean to post on 2nd time moms? I only ask because this is the AMA thread (advanced maternal age) & at 30...you're a whipper snapper! Lol AMA is 35+ moms. Congrats on #3!
