3 total. My DS will be 11 next week, my DD is 8, my DSS is 7. My husband and I have been together a little longer than 6 years this will be our first child together. I feel like I have this mom thing down but I feel like it's been so long since I've been pregnant or had a baby I almost feel brand new to this.
What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?
I'm not really having symptoms. I had sore boobs but that stopped. My other pregnancies I had very bad morning sickness but it may be too soon to tell with this one

I am happy to be pregnant, especially after 14 months of trying, but part of me is sad because this may be my last pregnancy so I'm trying to savor it. I'm in no rush at all. Somebody ask me if I still feel that way when I'm in my third trimester....
What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children?
with this baby I actually want to keep things to a minimum. I don't need a swing and a bouncy seat and a saucer sitting in my kitchen. Maybe A Step Above putting the baby in a drawer with a blanket? We will have to get all new items or hand-me-downs because I don't have any baby stuff saved from when my kids were little but I truly would like to keep it to a minimum and not get all the extras
GTKY: How much maternity leave will you take and how much time does your work give you?
I get 12 weeks unpaid leave. I will probably take most of it because with my first baby I only took 4 weeks off and my second baby I took 2 weeks off (unfortunately true story uggh). So I would say somewhere between 8 and 12 with this one. I suppose that's one of the perks of having a baby when you're 30 rather than when you're 19 . ... a little more established. I don't know yet what my husband will take but probably just a week and then some days here and there. He travels half the time for work but when he is in town he can work from home sometimes so that will be nice

I have nothing from my first child! We got rid of everything, planned on being one-and-done, and moved out of the country. I'm starting from scratch!

I'm going to take 4 months, then another 2 months working part-time from home, then I'll go back. I don't know what they give, but this is what I'll be doing!

Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm just raving that I get to be here right now! TW - I had a loss at 12 weeks in August. Was supposed to be due at the beginning of March. I'm just excited that when that day arrives I'll have this one to look forward to. That said, I'm also nervous that something could happen again but trying not to stress.
What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children? Probably a carrier for infants so I can do more wearing. I'm thinking DS will be in the stroller and I'll carry this one when we're out and about.
GTKY: How much maternity leave will you take and how much time does your work give you? I love Canada! We get Employment Insurance for 50 weeks and my employer tops me up to 100% for 15 weeks. I will probably take 9 months and my husband will take 3 months. He gets topped up to 75% for 10 or 12 weeks. I took the full year with my first and loved it!

The nausea has kicked in already, I was at least 7 weeks last time before it started. I'm hoping my morning sickness is much shorter this time.

It took us 18 months to conceive DS so this is a surprise pregnancy, but I couldn't be happier!
What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn't have with previous children?
I didn't have a rock n play sleeper with DS but I might invest in one this time. They seem great.
GTKY: Maternity leave
I will take 12 weeks off, my union contract just changed to STD so I think I will get 6 weeks at 100% and 6 weeks at 50%, I'm pretty pumped for this because my last maternity leave was unpaid after you exhausted your PTO.

Boobs are sore and teeth hurt when I eat/drink anything sugary. Compared to last pregnancy, I feel AMAZING. Last pregnancy I was so freaking nauseous and vomitting at this point which continued through the 7th month, so I hope this stay this way because I feel amazeballs.

I'm excited for this pregnancy. We had been trying off and on for the past year and a half and I wasn't sure it was going to happen. If it didn't happen, I was going to be OK with just having one, so this baby completes our family. I am sick to my stomach at what daycare is now going to cost me (Kissing goodbye $22,000 to daycare once baby is here).... good times ya'll....
What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children?
Nothing specific. I just want this baby to be healthy like my first. Everything else I can careless about. Well, i'd also like a healthy delivery for me as well since my last didn't go over so well as I had complications from my csection and needed to be hospitalized for an additional week. I was so doped up on drugs for that first month and had a drain coming out of my uterus that made it difficult for me to care for DD on my own, so I hope to remember more about this delivery and what life was like the first month after delivery.

My employer offers 6 weeks paid, and then legally I have 12 weeks total so i'll have enough sick time to cover the other 6 weeks.

Just tired, boobs aren't as sore as my first pregnancy by this stage, but it's still early. I'm hungry but then again, not. Same as with my daughter. Very, VERY moody. And mild cramping here and there. But as other symptoms, nothing. Yet!

Rant: I'm terribly nervous, as this is our second child and everyone keeps telling me "Oh it'll be fine! Don't worry!" well, I am worried. We were just starting to get ourselves to the point where we could finally go out and do things as a family w/out having to drag 16bags of baby crap, and now I feel very overwhelmed. I'm very scared, too. People drive me nuts when they tell me everything is peachy, b/c I know it's going to be MUCH harder the second time around. #RANTOVER
What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children?
I really would like to baby-wear. My daughter HATED any type of wrap, which sucked b/c I had bought a few hoping to use them. Thankfully I still have them, so this baby I will try very hard to start early in the hopes the babe does ok w/baby-wearing! Also, if it's a boy, we will need boy things and a new crib/bed. But other then that, we have everything we need (I hope).

I believe my company does 6 weeks (unpaid, I think) which sucks. Husband has no leave, except for the day of delivery and maybe a day or two after birth. We'll see.

I'm Canadian so we get a full year. Since I'm unemployed in the summer, I may ask my dr to write me off in June so I can take an extra few months paid. So in total I'll be taking 15 months.

Not too much currently but to start I had sore boobs, bloating, constipation, a weird craving for ketchup, and I've been having some cramping. Oh and sweating. And heartburn. Had pretty much all of the same with my last pregnancy!

Rant- MIL blabbed our news to DH's sister. The one who didn't tell DH about any of her pregnancies until almost the 3rd trimester. I love my MIL but damn. My SIL is a C U Next Tuesday.

A baby shower would be nice... my sister was supposed to throw us one but that didn't happen. Trying not to be bitter. If it's a girl I want a shower damnit. If we have another boy we really won't need anything except more newborn diapers I guess.

DH will probably be taking (unpaid) paternity leave or maybe some vacation. Who knows... its hard to tell right now because he's taking lots of vacation so he can go through fire academy.

Work gives 12 - and I'll take 12. Seriously debating if I return to work after this one. Depends a lot on my husband's job in 8 months.

I didn't feel anything at all with DD until week 5 and it was only aversions. I missed the morning sickness boat last time and hoping I get lucky again.

I didn't start cloth diapering until about 5 months but I already have a newborn stash started for this LO. Other than that, I might try to wrap this one because I only used structured carriers with her.

I got pregnant after 20 months TTC with our first round of IVF. I had a loss 14 months ago so I'm scared. I'm trying to have a positive attitude but it's hard.

I get 12 weeks of FMLA, unpaid, and I'm taking 12 weeks.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? So far mostly just sore boobs and small waves of nausea on and off. And of course pregnancy induced rhinitis. I had it my entire last pregnancy. It literally hits me like a ton of bricks about a day before I can even pull a squinter. At least my body is consistent and I'll know if I'm pregnant.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I've been sleeping sitting up in the glider for the last four nights because I'm sick and go into coughing fits if I lay down. It's been the only way for me to get any type of mediocre sleep. And today Ellie decided that 4am was morning time. But she's being a miserable grump about it. Like really kid? If you're going to demand that everyone has to be awake for the day at 4am you better at least be happy and playful about it. I ain't getting up after a shitty night' sleep at 4am for you to cry and cling to my leg screaming.
What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children? Probably nothing unless it's a boy, then we'll need some boy clothes. We have more baby crap then we know what to do with.
GTKY: How much maternity leave will you take and how much time does your work give you? I'm a union teacher, so I'm bound to my contract on maternity leave. My last district gave 6-8 weeks at full pay plus I was able to use our sick bank before and after for 14 fully paid weeks off. It was great. This district I'm in now is awful. You get your 6-8 weeks but you're only paid for as much of it as your PTO will cover. I won't have enough to cover the basic 6 weeks. And they're super stingy about letting pregnants use the sick bank and I was told to basically forget the idea because it won't happen. We can't afford any unpaid time off because we just built a new house, so looks like I'll only be taking about 4 weeks. Fucking sucks. I mean, I will be eligible for FMLA once this bean comes, but all unpaid except for my PTO. My new school district is so anti pregnancy, I'm honestly nervous to even tell them.

What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children? Hmm... does planning to have a doula for labor count? Last time we only had one set up in case we had to transfer from the birth center to the hospital.

DH gets two months off which could be interesting. It might be great or I might be ready to send him back after two weeks

boobs hurt just as bad, no sciatica or heartburn this time. Nausea comes in waves more like my 1st pregnancy (2nd I was nauseous the day after my BFP). Dizziness for the 1st time but that has calmed down.

I'll see how I'm feeling but the max allowed in my state is 4w before then after 6w disability and 6w family leave act. I'll at least take the 12w total after, but I'm gonna see about the 4w before, I have an office job this time around (1st PG I worked in the nursery at a daycare so I had a hard time working at the end because my back hurt so bad) so it shouldn't be too bad. I'll see how our money is, but those 4w before we're glorious

knock on woo, not much. I have a ton of back pain, my fingers are already swollen, and my right boob was leaky one day. I was super sick during my first pregnancy, so this is very different for me. It actually makes me nervous.

I haven't really given much thought to this. I am lucky enough to work from home and have a pretty flexible job. I did tell my boss last week, and she ensured me we would make sure that I get time off.
i have one daughter who turned 2 in December
nothing yet - but with my first the nausea and exhaustion hit my like a brick wall right at 6 weeks. I know it's coming, but still hoping it won't be as bad!
I'm just nervous about balancing two kids! And still making sure my oldest feels special, but that I can still give my time and attention to the baby

I dont know know how much I'm taking. I'm a teacher and Ideally I'd like to be off until after Christmas break. I will have 24 days to use (as long as I don't need to take a sick day this year). But that doesn't even cover 6 weeks. I'm hoping we can make ends meet and be conservative until December. Maybe I'll go back in the beginning of December and then be able to have Christmas break to recoup before finishing the year. Oh how much I wish I could be a SAHM

Well we found out today that I am jaundice (I have yellowed eyes and skin) so there is some concern over my liver and/or gallbladder. Not exactly the news I need at the moment. I'm also having the normal stuff like nausea, heartburn and needing to pee nonstop. I'm also dealing with a rash and extreme itchiness (insert eyeroll). My first pregnancy sucked towards the third trimester and my second was a breeze so this is kind of insane and it's just starting.

Anyone else ever experience liver issues while pregnant? I'm scared and tired and just not sure exactly what we'll do if this ends up being serious. I'm a stay at home mom so I'm really not needing all of this on top of our surprise pregnancy. Don't get me wrong we're super happy about having a baby! Just wasn't expected so soon.

Eh... we've gotten pretty minimalistic with each kid lol. We do need to buy a new pack'n play and maybe a sit and stand stroller. If it's a girl we'll need all new clothing.

I own my own business and stay at home so no leave worries for me. My husband gets 2 weeks unpaid. We planned to use some of his vacation too. I think that will now depend on my health issues.

Zero symptoms
We had baby #1 via IVF because I had blocked tubes, took a year + and lots of $$$. We figured #2 would also have to be an IVF baby so we were not trying but also not on any birth control. I knew we had had sex within the ovulation window but it was the first day and knowing my tubes were blocked I didn't think much about it. Was two days late and tested positive. We were both very surprised and happy. We wanted another one, just maybe not this close together!

Kinda want to know how my tubes got unblocked! Also nervous about a fall/winter infant. I live up north where it can get quite cold as early as October. With #1, we did so many walks in the stroller to get her to nap, I feel like that won't be an option this time and I'm nervous about.

As far as stuff goes, nothing.
I think I'll probably change up child care this time and use a nanny. Not sure what I will do while I am on leave though. It would seem odd to have a nanny in the house taking care of #1 while I am only taking care of #2.
Anyone have a nanny for #1 and then add #2? What did you do during your leave?

Pretty much symptom free at the moment which annoys the hell out of me due to the previous loss. With that said, I didn't have too many symptoms other than heightened smell with my last kiddo...no morning sickness...just an aversion to some foods. SO far I don't have any of that either but it's early.

I'm a teacher, I only have about 15 days of paid leave (we have to take our personal and sick days). I desperately wanted to have a summer baby so I could spend those first months at home! I'm going to ask for 12w off, it'll mostly be unpaid so we've already starting saving!

Bloat and crazy tired! Some food aversions and nausea, but I've been nauseous since I got off birth control and both Drs I saw have no clue why. My previous pregnancy I had a crazy sense of smell and way sensitive boobs.

Hopefully I have a job to take leave from! If I do, I'll probably only take 8 weeks all unpaid. Luckily FMLA mandates 12 weeks unpaid minimum with equivalent pay and position upon return to work.

Nausea, tender breast, enlarged breast, heightened smell, and super annoyed by DH! Never got nausea with the first pregnancy so this is quite annoy this go round with a toddler tonrun after.

What is one thing you want/need for this baby that you didn’t have/need with previous children?
Double stroller thinking about the city select by baby jogger I can use it as a single when DD is in school and I only have new baby.
GTKY: How much maternity leave will you take and how much time does your work give you?
I get 0 maternity leave. I am a SAHM. I am trying to figure out how I can get some help for the first few weeks while I recover from birth but we have time for that. My first pregnancy I got 8wks unpaid and came back at 6wks because we were buying a house and I had to be working to get the mortgage. I was a hormonal mess and ended up quitting my job within 2wks of returning to work because one of my bosses was just an a$$. My other bosses were great and I miss them but one bad apple can ruin the bunch.
