Did you guys see this?
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/05/well/eat/feed-your-kids-peanuts-early-and-often-new-guidelines-urge.html?_r=0Very interesting! The official advice in the USA is now to introduce peanuts early, especially to babies prone to nut allergies (with a doctor's guidance, I assume), because early exposure might prevent allergies from ever developing. That's definitely more in line with the official advice here in the Netherlands, which is to introduce finely ground nuts from 6-8 months.
I eat a lot of peanut butter, so I assume baby has been exposed via breastmilk from birth anyway. He likes peanut butter toast and peanut sauces, which we started offering him around 8 months...and in a total mama-fail moment, chomped up a whole chocolate covered almond he found on the floor recently. I ran to get it out of his mouth but he'd chewed it up pretty good. Anyway, all this to say we haven't had any issues with the introduction of nuts to his diet yet, thankfully.
Have your LOs had any peanuts or other nuts yet? When do you plan to/did you introduce them?
