1. While I love and appreciate my husband dearly, sometimes him helping me is the least helpful thing he could be doing.
2. Random people and uninvolved family members... I don't need your "advice". Yes, we cosleep. Yes, I pick my son up when he cries. No, I'm not spoiling him. He's 6 months old. Kindly keep your opinions of how I parent to yourselves.
@LDSJM123 yes to #1! I plan to do my own baby food when it comes to meats. I think.. I need to look a little more into it.
As for #2, I won't claim to know EVERYTHING about it, but it's such an interesting topic. I don't know if this counts as a UO, and I don't know that I've ever brought it up here, but I am a Christian and have been around the Bible my whole life so it's what I grew up with and believe still to this day. I think a lot of people have misconceptions about Biblical "submission" and don't quite understand it (at least as I was taught and still believe.) If you have any questions or want opinions about it, feel free to PM me!
I love my twins. More than anything. But I do NOT recommend having them. Everyone always says "oh I always wanted twins". This 'ish isn't for anyone. Most days I don't even feel equipped to handle it!
Commenting on the BLW thread made me think of another. I'll never be the parent that makes a separate meal for my kids. My kids also won't be ordering off a kids menu. And I hate the idea of "kid food". It makes me roll my eyes so hard. My 10 year old eats better than most adults I know, in part because of these things I instituted when she was little.
@LDSJM123- I agree with not making a separate meal for kids! At restaurants we always gave DD1 some of our meals. However, now that she's almost 3 we can't get by with just 2 adult meals for DH, me nursing aka eating lots, and DD1. So we now order a kid's meal because it's way cheaper than a 3rd adult meal. We do get milk and fruit with her meal so it's not too bad. Plus we only do it about once a month so no guilt here!
I don't know if this is actually an UO, but I saw a disconcerting comment section on a video about this topic that makes me wonder if it is. My kids will have chores. They will help around the house and have consequences if they don't, and they will start young. I had (and hated) lots of chores growing up, but I am glad I did and thankful my parents were such sticklers about it. I think it's crazy important and I was really surprised to see comments that chores were like enslaving children...

@winnie1122 yes! Having child is having free labor! Lol.. buts seriously...my job as a parent is to this baby to adulthood. How is he supposed go off to college or get married and take care of his own house if he didn't have chores? He won't know what to do!!
I thought was going to go crazy going back to work and have meltdowns left and right. I haven't. I'm ok with working! L is asleep when I leave and I'm home around 4-4:30. We get some fun evening hours in and I cherish eating a warm meal when I want to 4 days a week!
Sorry for bumping this like 4 days later. But, whatevs.
@Heathereaddy that is hilarious and sooooo true for me.
@LDSJM123@schaze Agreed it's intriguing and also highly perverted and misunderstood by our culture, not that I fully understand it myself either. I love that in the parts of the bible that talk about it, in the same paragraph it also talks about the man giving himself up and sacrificing himself for his wife. So it's certainly not promoting a bullying, subservient type of submission.
Re: U/O 1-5
2. I've been researching biblical submission within marriage. It intrigues me.
