Yesterday, I got off a rough ferry and got hit with a heavy wave of nausea, so immediately drove to Five Guys for a burger and peanut butter shake.
I have not been to Five Guys in like two years, but I also wasn't going to make it through a grocery trip, washing dishes, and cooking in order to eat. GREAT decision on my part - it only took half the burger for me to be able to hold a conversation again.
fruit- and I mean an obnoxious amount of it I've been at work barely a half hour and I've ate almost the entire whole pineapple I cut up this morning, along with a thing of blackberries and 2 apples. Same thing yesterday and Tuesday!
I used to love starbucks and mushrooms. I can no longer stand the smell of either. I am craving chinese food and it was the best thing ever last night!
I've been sick this week and have hardly been able to eat anything. I'm currently drinking a peanut butter and banana protein shake, and it might be the first full "meal" I'm able to finish. We had DH's family Christmas on New Year's Day, so we have ham and beans cooking in the crockpot right now to use up the leftover ham...and it smells disgusting I keep craving a sandwich with swiss cheese and deli turkey, but that's not allowed...
@vannilly my doc just told me lunch meat is safe if you microwave it for a minute first, to sterilize it.
I've been craving all things carb. toast and bagels and sandwiches and crackers, which all settle my stomach. Sugar is finally abhorrent to me, after my Christmas free-for-all. Hopefully that keeps up so it's easier to not pack on pounds
@vannilly Could you heat up the sandwich in a panini press or something? That way the turkey would be hot enough where you're allowed to have it. Plus, melted swiss cheese....yum. Just a thought!
My pregnant self is doing a Whole30. It's moronic but before I got my BFP I committed to a bunch of coworkers and friends that don't know that I'm pregnant so I'm just going with it. So... no sugar, no grains, no legumes, no alcohol (the easy one), and no dairy. I'm eating tons of veggies and protein. Eating potatoes and fruits everyday to keep carb intake up. It sucks! I just want a milkshake!
Cottage cheese with diced onions, sun dried tomatoes, and spicy bread and butter pickles. That is my go to snack right now. It tastes so good and fills me up for hours.
90% of food is gross to me right now. I have been doing great with frozen fruit smoothies (fruit, ice, milk & sometimes yogurt or protein powder). Have been craving more vinegar & salty foods, so pickles and chips. I can keep fast food cheeseburgers down, but if I go to cook a burger or think of cooking one I gag. Any and all veggies sound unappetizing. This poor baby is living off basic carbs this week.
The nachos I had for lunch were good. I have been eating an egg and english muffin sandwich every morning for breakfast. Those have been good too. ETA: The sauerkraut I had with supper last night was the best part of supper.
For you deli meat lovers: my OB says that pre-sliced, pre-package lunch meat is okay. It's the actual deli in the store (or restaurant) where they slice the meat that could possibly introduce the bacteria.
I want all the Mexican food!
Coffee smells gross & that's a damn shame, because I could use some!
@MrsPlatz@Lauradi1010 I'm with you ladies on everything tasting gross. Nothing sounds good either like I can't even think of something that sounds good. I wish it could be like these others that have cravings so I could actually eat something! So far I've just been nauseous and eating actually isn't helping either.
Chicken avocado burritos from el pollo loco and bear claws. Two things I ate way too much of my first pregnancy. But man oh man.... i love them both. And eat rarely when I'm not pregnant.
90% of the time, nothing at all is appetizing to me. It's a battle eating, and I'm so nauseous bc I'm so hungry. I've been able to stomach salads, Italian ice, Christmas cookies, and Mac n cheese so far. I'm craving Chinese food and a turkey sub. The smell of coffee makes me sick, just like my last pregnancy... which stinks bc I looove coffee and could really use some caffeine lol.
Love reading what you all are eating... some of it sounds so good and is inspiring me to go to the grocery store tomorrow.
+1 for avocado, @lynzeyk and @clrgrdfrk. There's this avocado chicken arepa at a restaurant in town that I might have had three times in the last week...
I've had a real aversion to big meals of any kind. I've been grazing on nibbles and having sandwiches for my dinner because I can't face an actual meal. Also been craving pizza a lot but trying hard to not give in to that. Too much....
I'm really sad to say but I honestly can't really stand the sight, smell, or thought of food I force myself to eat because I know I have to but I've lost my joy for food (and that was one of my biggest pleasures)! Sometimes I get flashes of cravings for chicken soup but then when it comes to actually eating it, I don't want to. hopefully this passes in the next few weeks.
I'm with @jpomo, eating is so hard right now. I will also crave different things but when I get it, it doesn't satisfy. Boo. Glad some of you ladies have found a go-to meal. I hope I find one! Or this phase passes quickly.
@jpomo that's how I was for the first few weeks. It was horrible because, like you, eating is one of my lifes greatest joys. I was kinda concerned that maybe pregnancy took that away. My appetite has come back a bit, but more importantly food has started to taste good again. Its still not back 100% because of nausea, but I'm relieved at least a little bit of joy of food is back

Um, so today I ate a lemon. A whole lemon. It was the only thing in the universe that didn't sound repulsive. My tongue still feels like there are holes burning through it.
I've had the weirdest appetite since getting pregnant! I'll eat breakfast then won't be hungry until 3 or 4 in afternoon. And I go from not being hungry at all to starving within minutes. I suddenly hate peanut butter. I can only eat grilled chicken and vegetables if they have teriyaki sauce or some kind of sauce on them. Plain stuff is a no go! I can't get enough fruit
Everything my husband eats makes me want to vomit. The smell. I could have just eaten the exact same thing but the second he has it near me the smell makes me want to die.
all I've been good with lately is rice & beans. And jello. Good thing I work in a hospital. All the jello I could ask for isn't at my fingertips. I've had two cups tonight already.

French fries!!!!!

Also raspberry or strawberry lemonade. I broke down and bought some of those Crystal Light single packets so I could add it to my waterbottle at work.

Junk: McD's & garlic knots haven't let me down either
Loathing: any kind of meat and salads

Last night i cooked two frozen waffles on my waffle maker but put cheese between them. It made an awesome grilled cheese.
I want all the potatoes!!
if I don't have avocado toast for breakfast I really think heads may roll.
Homemade hummus with apple slices give me life (this week).
