Hey Everyone,

As we close out this year, I wanted to take a moment to wish everybody a fabulous holiday season, and a much better 2017 than 2016 ever was.  My hope and prayer is that we will all find complete success with our treatment plans and can launch into the 1st Tri boards with great joy and wisdom to share to the new women who will find us in the next 12 months.

Happy New Year... Let's all resolve to practice the best self-care in 2017!

  • CD 7 here, clomid complete. I had a great, wonderful, warm Christmas and spent lots of time with my family and a very sweet DH, who gave me basically the perfect gift... except in addition to his gift, on Christmas Day, I also got a yeast infection, which was awful and I became stressed about (think: "what if it ruins the IUI?!") Word to the wise - it's not an issue, treat the infection (I had a couple of conversations with a doctor and pharmacist to check, though).

Outside of graduating T-TTC, in 2017 I'm hoping to get all the permits we need to move forward with our home renovation. And I hope they aren't too expensive - we have spent the last two months of 2016 in a permitting quagmire.
  • 1) how long have you been TTC?
    4 very long years

    2) what is your diagnosis?
    DOR, PCOS...

    3) what is your current treatment plan?
    Femara and TI.

What am I hoping for in 2017?
Im hoping to do some house renovations and do some traveling, perhaps make it a babymoon... that's the dream.
Me:28 (PCOS, DOR), DH: 32 (low morphology)
    TTC since March 2012
    2013-2014 - 6 rounds of Clomid - BFNs
    3 failed IUIs in 2015
October 2015 - wait listed for IVF #1
IVF #1 March 2016 - bfn, zero frosties!
Femara cycle 1 May 2016 - POAS starting May 21st / beta testing May 25th....

  • Finally have an appt with my new RE for the 6th of January so I'm hoping that goes well (I have a feeling they're going to insist on iui at this point and H will not be happy due to money factors) I'm just trying to make it until then to get things going again.

QOTW: hoping to get most of the renovations on our house finished, we've been going room by room and I hate how cluttered and disorganized my house feels since we've been moving everything from room to room. Also, hoping to be able to start school up again in the fall once everything is settled.

Officially TTC #1 since January 2015
  • Soooooo tired from the holidays.  We had a nice time but trying to squeeze both our families into 4 days, plus trying to make time for friends who are in town that we don't normally get a chance to see has left me exhausted.

DH and I are still enjoying our break from TTC.  I am starting to feel more myself.  DH and I had a moment about a week ago where he wanted to have a little sexy fun time and I was just so tired I didn't feel like it.  He ended up making the comment that he wished I was in the mood the same time he is (although sometimes it feels like he is ALWAYS in the mood which is exhausting).  After I told him that we had only been on a break for a week or so and that it might take me more than a week (eye roll) to get my groove back after having all those meds messing with my hormones, he seemed to get it.

QOTW: Outside of graduating from TTTC, what are you hoping for in 2017?
I honestly can't think of anything for myself that I am hoping for in 2017...job and all that is good. However, I have a very dear friend who has been working on getting her citizenship (she's canadian, living in the US) for over 3 years.  Due to various complications, this has been a very long, stressful, and expensive process.  She finally got everything she needed and applied for DACA, but now our new president elect has screwed that over, so they are now looking at trying a new route.  So my hope for 2017 is that she sees some progress and can make some giant leaps forward in her immigration so she can get on with her life and have that worry off her back.

  • Hello, I'm new around here.  My very good friend has been posting around these boards for a while and recommended I look around.

    1.  How long have you been TTC?  1 year

    2.  What is your diagnosis?  None yet, hopefully we'll get some more info soon.

    3.  What is your current treatment plan?  If everything looks ok on the SA, then we'll start with Clomid.

QOTW: Outside of graduating from TTTC, what are you hoping for in 2017?  Honestly, I'm thrilled with the way my life is going otherwise.  Hopefully we can save some money and visit more out of town friends in the coming year.

Hope everyone can destress from the holiday so far and have a relaxing start to the new year!

Would love a chart stalk if you're so inclined :)

    QOTW: travel or language, definitely!

First cycle on vitamins geared towards the MTHFR gene and it's doing interesting things to my temps (or it's the cold. Who knows). Got sick middle of last week (that's the massive spike - I think) and was lazy about OPKs over the holiday. Body seems to think O-day was the 24th (almost + OPK on the 23rd and usual secondary symptoms) while FF gives the 20th. Any ideas?

ETA - chart is the 2nd image, my rationale is the first. Spoilers are cool!

  • AF showed up yesterday so I have my baseline appointment tomorrow!  When I called my RE yesterday I found out my crappy nurse is no longer with them, thank you Jesus!!!  This makes me so happy because I wanted to ask for a new nurse because she was terrible but I couldn't muster the courage to do so.  My guess is we will have our next transfer around the middle to end of January. I'm super excited to move forward but I'm terrified of what could happen.  Hoping our third time is the charm.

In 2017 I'm hoping DH and I get to take a trip!  We had to cancel our trip in 2016 because of the miscarriage so we are overdue for sometime away from reality.  The plan is maybe taking a trip out to Seattle and Vancouver sometime in May. :)

  • Hi everyone!  I hope you are all surviving the holidays as best you can.  Welcome to the new folks.

AF arrived this morning and I wasn't even certain I had O'd so that was an unfortunate surprise.  This will be my first IVF cycle so I start bc tonight and then stims in a couple of weeks.  I'm equal parts excited, nervous and heartbroken.  Pretty standard, right?

QOTW: Outside of graduating from TTTC, what are you hoping for in 2017? I would like to feel more confident and content at my job.  Right now I seem pretty motivated so hopefully that carries into the new year.

  • @funkykey yay for end of year yeast infections! I was right there with you. Must be all the holiday sweets throwing off the pH balance down there ;)

Currently waiting for AF on Jan 7, then we can start our first and only round of clomid for a medicated IUI before moving onto IVF (suppression for Feb, then ER/transfer in March). I got my AMH back yesterday (2.46....they said that was normal, but seems kind of low to me) and still have to do CD21 progesterone on Jan 3. Four of my coworkers have done IVF with our clinic, so I feel like the little sister being welcomed into the "big girls" club at work. It's comforting and odd.

We had friends announce their pregnancy tonight and I felt terrible because I got several "how are you holding up" questions about it. We've been really open about our struggle and our friends all know that this couple wasn't even thinking about kids until months after we started TTC. Now I feel bad that it's maybe put a damper on our friend's pregnancy announcement. :(

@GoldenKeys can you change my Tx to Clomid + IUI? We are still unexplained IF.

QOTW: my non-TTC goals are really just to continue to learn to be a better nurse and person in general. I'm so lucky my job requires training in mindfulness, ways to combat structural racism, and even learning infant cues/parenting skills! My hope is that funding for my job continues and I get to continue to help others improve the lives of their children through parenting skills and better nutrition.
    Me: 39 SO: 36

Dx: low progesterone, possible DOR - officially "unexplained"

  • @kem0514 - Congrats!

I feel like my luck was insane yesterday. I'm not supertitous but I had amazing bargain shopping luck (including finding two bras in my size at Nordstrom Rack - that NEVER happens). Every store I went to, I found what I wanted. Did I shift the natural order of things?

I also had a pleasant follicular ultrasound even though I got a male tech (he had the hardest time finding a female chaperone) and I got the great news that our IUI is scheduled for 01/02. I don't have to miss any work for this treatment. Love it! Our post-IUI brunch place will be open. I also didn't have to rush across town late last night to get my trigger. Instead, hubs and I are going to get lunch and make a date of it.

QOTW: Well, whether or not I get a BFP, the TTC journey will be over in June. We'll reassess but we decided "no heroic measures". I was thinking yesterday that I have three nieces that will need to go to college. At least I can be the benevolent crazy Auntie who travels a lot.

I'd like to do some work on myself, continue to address my anxiety issues. Be more calm and content. Stuff like that.

Happy New Year to you all!

  • @kem0514 - congratulations!
@BenJay - sounds like the stars are aligning nicely! FX for your next IUI! I am hoping it works, but if not, sounds like you have a solid back-up plan.
  • @funkykey - I got a little stressed tonight that our IUI wouldn't happen tomorrow as planned: it started snowing tonight and it was *dumping*. I panicked because I live in a part of the world that can't handle snow. (I grew up in Alaska, so my snow driving is like woah)

So maybe my luck is running out...

  • Ah! Keeping my FX for good roads tomorrow! Or at least good enough that they won't close your clinic!
  • I didn't mention - I had a BSC moment this morning. I locked myself in the bathroom to do OPKs, and one of the clearblue ones kept giving me problems - maybe I accidentally got the monitor wet last time, or something.

Anyway, there I was, with a cup of my own urine, surrounded by three different brands of OPKs, and I started crying because one of the three wasn't working. I must have been in there for 15 minutes, just waiting for the different tests and for the one's error to resolve.

Last night, at a NYE party, I listened to 2 pregnant women talk about their unborn children, and how they were so surprised to get pregnant so fast: "we just stopped not trying". (I was like: "Well, there you go. Birth control works." Neither of them have any idea that we are going through this.)

Staring at the one broken OPK this morning, I thought: "How is this my life?" and just felt so alone. DH heard me cry and then dragged me out for brunch to a vegetarian restaurant that I love but he hates ("it has sh*tty ketchup" - he says, because they make their own ketchup, or: "Beet bacon is not as good as real bacon." ). I stopped crying after we left the house, but man... Some days, this journey is harder than others!

@Worldtravler0522 - we are in the Pacific Northwest! If you do plan a trip, I am happy to provide restaurant recommendations/travel tips!

@laurad75 - I am keeping my FX for you!!

@PoeMasque - I don't think you put a damper on their announcement, but even if you did, meh. One of my sisters is pregnant with her third, and when she told my aunt, my aunt said "congratulations!" and then turned to me - while my sister was right next to us! - squeezed my leg, and said: "it will be your time soon." I immediately started to cry (she hit me at a vulnerable moment), which definitely stole my sister's thunder. But I don't think my sister cared - she was like: "I am so happy to be pregnant again! And I am so excited for you to get pregnant soon! It will happen!" She was very gracious. I think more people should realize that when they get pregnant easily, they are lucky. I dunno - I mean, I can see why you'd worry about that, especially if you're a considerate individual, but as an outsider, I don't think you should. The friends (I hope!) will be generous and humble!
  • @funkykey - I cried at your OPK and listening to pregnant women. Yaaaay hormones. *Hug* I'm so with you. Oh, the journey...

  • ***trigger warning***

hey everyone...it's been awhile since I've been here and I see a lot of new names  so just briefly, last I was here was in Sept 2016, I had just met with my new RE and she pretty much said we could do IUIs, but she would suggest IVF, and even with that only gave me about a 40% chance. Since we can't afford IVF we decided we would try IUIs with injectables.....however I had a lot of travel plans between Oct- Nov and then there was the holidays so we decided we would take a break and start the IUIs In January 2017. However this morning I took a HPT and I got a BFP.....8 HPTs later and I finally believed it haha.....I need to make an appointment with my OBGYN, and I know how easily this could turn out to be a nonviable pregnancy but I'm being cautiously optimistic and will hang out here until it appears this little one will stick

hope everyone  had amazing holidays and I'm excited to be back here

Congratulations and a healthy 9mos for your BFP's
harleyquinn0621  and @kem0514!  What great news... I'm so glad for you both!

Please know that a great place for you moving forward would be the Pregnant after IF board, where you can give & seek support from women in the same happy (and scary) situation that you are in... Some of us will be board-stalking you to see how you are doing. :-)

ETA:  The first line of this post should read: "Congratulations and a healthy 9mos for your BFP's".... I have no idea why it keeps cutting that part off.
