hi! I was wondering what you all are doing with LOs for New Years. It's just me and Sam and I want to do something special with him but I am having trouble thinking of something. I thought I'd see what you all are doing
We haven't really done anything for New Year's Eve for the past couple of years so I think we will keep it lowkey. We have an invite for New Year's Eve dinner at a restaurant that I've been wanting to try but getting a babysitter for New Year's here is tough. The Old Port usually has a celebration of some sort and the winter village at the old Olympic stadium has kid-geared activities during the day so we may check that out. Who knows at this point, we will just play it by ear.
We normally go to MILs house for new years but this year we are staying home. Mostly because while they have a pack n play for Preston, they only have a couch for us so we'd have to wake him after midnight, drive 30 min home then in bed. We'll do something special at home just the two of use after Preston goes to bed.
Nothing too exciting here. We got frozen chicken wings and pizza to have with the kids as a treat, and we'll probably count in the new year early. maybe watch the England fireworks before they go to bed. Dh and I will watch a movie after the kids are asleep, and watch the ball drop at midnight (if I can stay awake that long, the kids have been in sleep strike lately)
We will probably just watch a movie here. My husband may take the girls to his parents house for ebelskiever, which is a Danish pancake, but honestly I'm kind of "evented" out after the holidays so I will probably put a movie on and hang out with the baby at home.
It have been wanting to take S to see the Christmas lights at the zoo, and we didn't make it there before Christmas. If the weather is not too bad, I want to take him on New Year's Eve or day.
Every year we go to my cousins house for New Year's Day. It's nice because practically the whole family on my mom's side attends so we get to see everyone! The only downside is they live 2 hours away so it's kind of a journey. Lol. But for many of my extended family, this will be the first time they meet Ethan in person.
We've been staying home the last two NYEs (after DS was born), we just cook a fancy dinner, have some wine and watch a movie. My birthday is 12/30 so this year my parents wanted to come up and celebrate with me since my dad will have off of work 1/2 and can stay through the weekend. So they'll have dinner with us, and if I'm lucky, will do the wakeups with the kids. I'm pretty sure I won't be seeing the ball drop, I'm so freaking exhausted...
I figured out all these fun things for the kids today, but my oldest is sick I've spent most of the day reading to him, finding things he'll eat, and trying to keep up with his two little sisters as well. Oh well
I started 2017 with a cold, being woken every 2.5 hours to nurse (I think my supply dipped due to cold/baby growth spurt) and half a dead possum on the deck. Thanks dog.

We took Cole to his first football game (Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl) and then went to a party at a friends house. He was the life of the party and stayed up past midnight! He slept until 1030 this morning (thankfully!) and took a two hour nap for us. Happy 2017 mommas!!
