Belated ticker change day ladies! I haven't started a thread for Wednesday in a while but I figured, why not since there wasn't one yet.
How far along are you: 28w 4d
How big is baby: Huge
Upcoming appointments this week: Nope, but I did see the midwife, naturopath and chiropractor this week! I'm in rough shape. I fell on ice and have needed several adjustments but so far it's helping. And my iron levels are at rock bottom
Any new symptoms or changes: My pelvis hurts so bad, I'm severely limping.
Rants/Raves: seriously considering vaginal seeding and placenta encapsulation if I end up with a Csection (which is the most likely scenario). So I'm kinda excited and hopeful about that!
GTKY: did you buy baby any Christmas presents? or presents for your birth bag?
no, but I think I'm going to do Boxing Day shopping for my birth bag! Super excited!!! Getting some swaddles and essential oils it might help with bonding I'm hoping
@ihateusernames* - "How big is baby? - Huge" - HA HA!! I feel the same way! Sorry about your fall!
How far along are you: 28 weeks - Hello 3rd Trimester! Woo hoo!!
How big is baby: eggplant, Nintendo
Upcoming appointments this week: had my 3 hr glucose test yesterday. That was not so fun....so I've already started changing my diet. (no more Arby's for me!)
Any new symptoms or changes: really a lot of movement from baby girl. Late last week felt a little bit of the BH contractions, but haven't yet this week. Shortness of breath, hard to get out of bed to potty, irritability (more than usual)
Rants/Raves: one of our really good friends surprised us with a Christmas gift that included two oversized coffee mugs (we'll use after baby is here I'm sure!), a very cute outfit that MAY be one of the options for coming home, a couple of the elastic band sleepers, and this really cool book! We were so surprised!! We are very lucky to have the friends we do. Also want to rant on my massage therapist last night! She was amazing!
GTKY: did you buy baby any Christmas presents? or presents for your birth bag? We have not bought anything for baby girl for Christmas. But I did buy a We're expecting ornament. I don't really want to buy anything for her until after our showers.
@ihateusernames* - so I go to Hand & Stone Massage & Facial Spas (they are a chain, so you may have on near you!). Anyway, the massage therapist I have lays me on my back first but puts a towel under my right side to have my belly slightly elevated and pressure off my spine and artery. She does my arms/shoulders and thighs and pulls on my legs stretching the hip muscles (This feels amazing!). Then I go to one side and she massages my back (we switch to the other side when she's finished). She gives me a pillow to hold to keep my shoulder and arm comfortable, and also puts the towel under my belly on that side too. And, there's a pillow between my legs. They really make it comfortable for you and she is constantly checking in to make sure I'm comfortable.
Most of the H&S have a specialist in prenatal massages. It is amazing! Baby girl enjoyed herself too...she was kicking a little bit while I was relaxing.
sorry ladies I slacked yesterday, I was feeling kinda blah
How far along are you: 31 or 30 weeks
How big is baby: asparagus
Upcoming appointments: none this week
Any new symptoms or changes: baby's routine of movement has changed, still trying to figure out the new pattern. I get lots of movement on my right side and there will be a hard bulge occasionally on right side. I'm just too dumb to figure out the body parts.
Rant/Rave: Rant: I posted a Christmas photo of me and my husband with my obvious big pregnant belly on facebook. MIL commented on facebook on the photo that I was as big as a beach ball! Number one: female code, you don't talk about a woman's body! Number two: She isn't a Victoria's Secret. model herself, in fact she has struggled with obesity all her adulthood, so she's one to talk. I have never discussed her body because I am not that kind of person. And Number Three: She's coming into town tomorrow and she is NOT touching my belly after insulting me.
GTKY: did you buy baby any Christmas presents or birth bag: We have to wait for January to spend on baby, Christmas expenses made things a bit tight. However, others have bought baby prsents. This year for Christmas we requested buy from baby registry.
Upcoming appointments this week: The Thurs after Christmas I have my blood sugar test and an apt
Any new symptoms or changes: BH, cramping and lower back and hip aches. I almost went to ER yesterday but after a few hours the pain subsided.
Rants/Raves: Pain. Everything hurts and I'm exhausted. I am hosting Christmas dinner and am truly regretting it.
GTKY: did you buy baby any Christmas presents? or presents for your birth bag? I haven't bought him anything aside from his bedding. I heard it was bad luck. Nope haven't bought anything for my birth bag. Bought nothing for myself. Lord I need to go clothes shopping post baby!
Some people are dumb....try and take it in stride.
My FIL brought me cleaning supplies....specifically something ordered off of QVC and told me that he thought of us when he saw it and suggested we use it to dust the ceiling fans before we have people over for Christmas dinner.
Upcoming appointments this week: Have one on Tuesday, just a regular checkup.
Any new symptoms or changes: Heartburn still bad. I am hungry constantly so am working on eating smaller meals to help. I was doing 3 meals a day and I can't get enough food in without feeling overly stuffed each time so snacking it is!
Rants/Raves: Ready for Christmas/Hannukah! Rant: My MIL asked me what our plans for NYE are - and we are going out to dinner with a group that we have been going with for past few years. She said "oh, well I made reservations, and my friends can't go anymore" implying that she will be alone (she is a widow) and now I feel guilty but I am not cancelling my last NYE without a baby because she made reservations. Just wanted to vent about it....
GTKY: did you buy baby any Christmas presents? or presents for your birth bag? I haven't bought anything in a while, but I did have a stocking for her hung (tiny) which made our mantle festive this year!
@disneybaby84 I am so angry for you. Why don't other women understand girl code?!?! @mecoats That massage sounds amazing... @ihateusernames* Ouch! Sorry about the fall. That is my #1 biggest fear this winter (other than preemies/NICU time). Regarding iron, do you take the iron pill the same time as your prenatal? I found out at my appt yesterday that if you do that less iron is absorbed. My doc suggested I take one in the morning and one in the evening.
How far along are you: 27 weeks... so close to the 3rd tri
How big is baby: Lettuce (looks like romaine on the bump app?), bunches of bananas, or a camping lantern
Upcoming appointments this week: I had one yesterday. Had my glucose test. I had read the threads on the board about it the test, but underestimated how i would react. It was rough. I was falling asleep while waiting for my doc when my blood sugar crashed!
I got a surprise ultrasound. I was the last patient of the day, and the doc didn't want to search for two heartbeats with the doppler so we took a quick peek.SUPER quick, she didn't take pics or even listen to the heartbeat, just verified that both hearts were beating at a good rate. That was a nice surprise. My blood pressure went up, but is still in the good range: 122/70 when all other appts it was 110/60. (I did get into a spectacular shouting and crying fight with my husband about 2 hrs beforehand, maybe that is why?) I also gained 8 lbs in 2 weeks... no joke. I can't even blame it on constipation. I'm pretty disgusted with myself about that, but my doc told me "There is never too much weight gain in a twin pregnancy. They'll come early and we want them to be fat and early." It was the first time I saw this doc, and liked that answer. She also told me she thinks I would deliver by 32 weeks (no explanation as to why, though?) which seemed.... off to me (average is 35-36 weeks, and i have zero complications so far). I guess the appointment was a bit of a mixed bag.
Any new symptoms or changes: Heartburn. I thought maybe I was going to be the unicorn that didn't get it, and that my little boys would just come out bald, but alas. It hit with a vengeance this past week.
Rants/Raves: Rant/Rave: so much food around! Cookies and cakes and candies. Everyone keeps trying to feed the babies! It is awesome, but I have very little self control and can understand how I gained those 8lbs in the last 2 weeks.... On the other hand, it is a blessing to have lots of free lunches and snacks during a time when my husband is out of work and I'm trying to be smart with our money.
GTKY: did you buy baby any Christmas presents? or presents for your birth bag? No. So, I'm pretty worried about money. My husband hasn't found a job yet (mostly b/c he's being selective, if he picks something that pays too little I'll have to go back to work and PRAY that my mom would watch the babies for cheap or free...) We're operating at a deficit because my salary is not a lot (but the other benefits are great). I've been super duper frugal lately. The extent of my purchases have been groceries and bills for the last month.... not so much fun. I do have some credit for Carters that expires in January, so I'll probably try to hit them up the day after Xmas (that's boxing day, right?)
How far along are you: 28 Weeks! yay Third Trimester
How big is baby: I'm going with @ihateusernames* and saying HUGE .... or the size of an eggplant?
Upcoming appointments this week: Not till next Tuesday
Any new symptoms or changes: new symptom... the days I've been feeling spurts of nauseousness... which apparently is normal in the third tri because the baby is pressing on different organs in your belly cause of the lack of room.
Rants/Raves: The drowsiness is coming back not fun!
GTKY: did you buy baby any Christmas presents? or presents for your birth bag? I have not ....YET
@direwolfmini - I seriously can't say enough about prenatal massages. My massage therapist mentioned that it may help with delivery, so I'll keep going until I can.
@jadkins17 - Arby's is like the best pregnancy food. and now I'm trying to be good But if you haven't had their mozzarella sticks and love them, you should try them. They were my obsession.
@direwolfmini baby is okay there was no movement for an hour afterwards so I was worried but then the squirms cake back kicking with a vengeance. Speaking of rude pregnant comments, when I fell, I fell on my butt and in my mom's friend's driveway. She came to see if I was okay and then said, "well what a relief that we both have fat asses, it makes the fall less painful ha"....
Oh also @direwolfmini I take my iron completely separate from my prenatal. I take it with a vitamin C and a probiotic to help absorption and help my tummy not freak out (as much). I sometimes get naughty though and take it with food so it won't hurt as much but my ND doesn't like that lol.
@rw3190 Goodness gracious! Why can't people just keep their mouths shut. If it bothers them so much, they can do it. I probably would have handed him a wet swiffer and said you can go ahead and clean away!
@rw3190 I applaud your ability to keep it together. Seriously, that is SO FREAKING RUDE.
Of course, your father in law will never know what it is like to try to keep a house clean AND be pregnant AND chase after a one year old! If he could understand he'd be cleaning the ceiling fans and floors and would be giving you all of the praise and chocolate!
GIRL you don't even know....but this isn't his first unwelcomed comment. Truthfully I don't think he cares that hes rude....so I just take a breath and let it go
@rw3190 at work a few people have said things about my classroom being a mess but then made comments about me using the diluted bleach spray. I've started taking all comments as offers to help. "Oh, I shouldn't be wiping down the tables? Here's the bottle and paper towels, thanks so much for helping!" That gets people to shut up real quick.
Last night I had already resolved myself to say that if my FIL was a dick when I got home I'd ask if he wanted to do whatever task he was complaining about.
Any new symptoms or changes: tired, restless sleep
Rants/Raves: just worried about my ILs...ugh
GTKY: did you buy baby any Christmas presents? or presents for your birth bag? I bought baby a "tactical teddy bear"...it's a camo bear that has a velcro patch on his chest that you can put numbers on it and take pictures with baby as he grows...hubby got me a new iPad mini that I'm sure will make it into my hospital bag, and my mom bought me a nightgown, cami, and pants from a maternity store to wear at both the hospital and at home after giving birth

@lindsey2017 Guilt tripping a pregnant lady should be illegal! Sorry you have to deal with that
