We are skipping out on my work holiday party tonight. No excuse aside from the fact that I just don't want to go, and would rather sit on the couch and watch Christmas Vacation with DH and our dog.
We're at my in-laws for a few days for early Christmas (h works Christmases, so we always do it another time in December). I forgot to pack my deoderant, and I have been secretly using dh's for three days. Gross, yes, but not as gross as me not wearing any at all for four days. Thank God we are going home tomorrow.
Also, I am on my second cup of coffee today and have every intention of drinking much more. Dd hates sleeping here and was up 2am until her nap 9am. No shame. Sorry, baby.

No flaming here - I haven't been to one for my work since before I was pregnant with DD!
My FFFC: I haven't really bought DD any Christmas/Hanukkah presents. I have a few things I picked up during the year, my in-laws brought her some gifts (which are still wrapped), and my parents will get her a gift. DH and I aren't big gift people, and I prefer to get her toys as she is ready for them developmentally rather than throw a bunch of stuff at her all at once. (I know that may need to change when she gets older and "expects" them at the holidays, but for now, it works.)
I let my DD watch tv every day after school (about 4:00) and leave it on her shows until about 7 when my DF gets home from work. She'll amble around and do other things while it's on but I see no harm in having the cartoons that she likes on the TV. In that time I shower, clean, make dinner, sit with her, and get done whatever else needs to be done. I figure she gets plenty of play time and stimulation during her day. I really don't think kids having screen time is a bad thing. My siblings and I watched a decent amount of TV as children and we are all smart, successful adults now.
My FFFC is that I LOVE a good GBCB. Maturity level = 5yo.
Dude. I was just coming to post the same thing. Being a SAHM has made it difficult for me to be as involved as I used to be but man, I love watching it go down. And that one? Couldn't have been more by the book.
@Assiram42 we can't be too sure that they are finished!
My FFFC while quickly scanning DS's veggie pouches at the grocery store today, I *may* have noticed that 2 didn't actually scan...but I threw them on the belt anyways. I've never actually done that before but I had to confess somewhere.
@devow27 my son has stolen pouches before. He was about 10 months and must have grabbed two and tucked them/dropped them into his cart seat. He has a seat cover so it's bulky and they were hidden. I still feel guilty over my klepto kid's thievery.
I have my husbands holiday party tonight. It is pretty fancy. I had all intentions of rushing home and showering, doing my hair and make up really nice, but now I may run a brush through it, shave my legs without getting all the way in the shower and put on eyeliner and mascara. The last day before students break has got me beyond exhausted. I just want to go home and put on pjs and do nothing.

DD's daycare Christmas Program is tonight and I know I'm supposed to think it's adorable but 1. She's 18 months old so she can barely participate and 2. It is from 630-730pm, 10 minutes from home. 630 is usually when she starts her bedtime routine with a bath, and she's out cold by 715. Tonight we will be lucky to be in the bath by 8 and asleep by 9, and it's not like she'll sleep late tomorrow to make up for it. She'll just be awake by 7 as normal and cranky about it. Sigh.
@delujm0 that's so annoying! I hate programs and crafts and such that are clearly not age appropriate and are just to be cutesy and try make parents feel good. Does anyone actually fall for that? Also, evening things for kids drive me crazy. Bedtime is sacrosanct in my house!
MH is rarely home from work in time for dinner, so DS and I usually eat in the living room and watch TV. I like to put a blanket down and call it a picnic.
Ok, so this is bad, like so bad I can't tell anyone IRL...
DH and I celebrated our anniversary this past weekend at a very nice restaurant. He ordered something that was named in French but the description said hen of the woods... or something like that.
Let me add that DH does not eat pork or beef...
When it came out I thought to myself, damn... that is a huge bird! Like too big to be poultry... Then halfway through he shared some with me, and I thought it was delicious... but too delicious for poultry, and I realized why as I saw the other side of his plate. Pretty sure it was a lean pork cut like tenderloin with pork ribs, what poultry has edible ribs? it had to be pork... which tasted absolutely amazing, but because I wasn't sure in the moment... I just let him devour it all and tell me how much he enjoyed it. I don't plan on telling him... ever... last time it took me 3 years to tell him that he ate bacon at a the Chopped premier party at our favorite local steakhouse and he is still livid (I didn't cause it, but just figured it out afterwards). The only reason I told him was because he was trying to figure out which chef and restaurant had made them so we could go get them again... those dang stuffed squash blossoms!
@Assiram42 I believe Hen of the Wood are a type of mushroom. My brother doesn't eat certain things, but boy do I get a twisted amusement out of watching him love and devour a dish I make that had one of his "no no" ingredients ma. I once made spaghetti squash (he hates squash) and he couldn't get enough of it haha. We finally told him what it was and he was abruptly done eating.

I just read the thread. As a PGAL mom, that GBCB is a bye Felecia. Ain't nobody got time for that attitude.
FFFC, my boss just texted because an employee has quit. I used to be the assistant mgr, and quit full time to work one day a week and go to school full time for cosmetology...about six months ago (best decision ever).
I am 97% sure she's not getting any hours out of me.
I am tired, pregnant, and pretty busy. Also, in the last six months I've gotten much better at saying no.

Ok, here's something I may get flamed for. I do not understand why people willingly choose to not eat things they like. I can understand being a vegetarian for moral reasons, but, at least in the first quote, he already eats seafood, poultry, lamb and potentially other meats. I just don't get it.
@semicolon@EmeraldNC that was the 2nd post that got closed as it was getting similar responses due to being about sex disappointment by the same OP to the one with GBCB and then it was deleted... it was 'Boy mom'.
A day late, but too funny not to post. I was sitting at my dining room table and something went down the wrong pipe, I started coughing and all of a sudden I had peed, through my clothes onto the chair. Second pregnancy problems!?
