Hi ladies,
I was wondering if any of you had polyps removed during hysteroscopy and if it can be done in the same cycle with the egg retrieval (no transfer) or if you can BD after the procedure?
The tricky part is that I understand the procedure needs to happen between day 5-12, so does that mean BDing is out of the question a few days after/around ovulation? That would be a bummer since I don't want to "miss" the month. So I'm wondering if instead it should be done right before egg retrieval?
Re: Hysteroscopy/polyps and IVF/IUI/BD in the same cycle?

I know when I was scheduling the hysteroscopy they mentioned that I could schedule it to coincide with a egg retrieval if I wanted, but that any implantation would likely have to be done the next cycle.

Hope I can help...I just went through this. I did my first stim cycle and egg retrieval in July. They mentioned seeing polyps before during previous months, but let me continue (in retrospect it pisses me off because they should have had me wait.) Anyway, they suggested I freeze my eggs and get a hysteroscopy/ polyp removal and they did a laparoscopy too because why not get a clear picture if they're already in there! This was towards the end of August because I had to take birth control during my August cycle so my lining could be a certain way during the procedure and basically that would be my period. Kind of confusing, but the Dr. explained it all during my consultation. You cannot have sex after the procedure for at least a couple of weeks (plus you'll have small incisions.) Then, I had to wait another whole cycle (one or two depending on healing) for transfer.
I hope this helps. It's seriously a long road. I transferred two 3-day embryos in October and BFN. Then, in December did another FET of two 5-day blastocysts and it was a BFP that ended in a chemical pregnancy. It was/ is a rollercoaster of emotions...I am happy that I was able to get pregnant, but devastated we lost it. I am taking a break for a couple of months. Sorry so long...feel free to message me if you have any questions about the procedure
