We had DH company holiday party last night and today we're having the nursery prepped and base painted for a mural! The rest of the weekend will be spent getting this house ready to host family Christmas next weekend and running errands.
Going to have dinner with my parents, and family that's in town visiting from Australia! Other than dinner, the rest of the weekend is being spent on the couch getting over my headcold. I know I'm not the only one here... and won't be the last complaining: but good grief! Being pregnant and sick is THE. WORST.
Had my work Christmas dinner last night. Tonight, DH and I are going out to dinner with his former boss, and tomorroe we're meeting up with friends on the other side of the city who have a 9month old son and we're going to go to the Christmas market. Somewhere in there I need to fit in christmas shopping online for the extended family. Because let's face it, DH isn't going to do it... haha
So much! Last night I had to supervise the Christmas party for a school club I advise, tonight we have to go to DH's family's annual Christmas tree decorating, and tomorrow night is my little brother's birthday dinner. I'm bringing a pie to the shindig tonight and I definitely just put in 1/2 TABLESPOONS of vanilla and cinnamon when they were supposed to be 1/2 teaspoons... tired + pregnancy brain + I teach English, not math. So.... I am trying to laugh about it and not cry (it's so easy to cry). It will just be really strong, not really disgusting, right?? Not as bad as Rachel Green's trifle at least.

DH is tearing out the flooring on the extra bathroom that has really been needing a remodeling. So I've just been doing a little cleaning around the house. I need to do laundry but the water's off right now for DH. This evening we're going to go driving around looking at Christmas lights. I'm hoping to make it a fun tradition with the kids wearing pajamas and having cookies and hot chocolate. Then tomorrow evening we have our Sunday school's Christmas party.
We got pictures taken today, regular and Christmas cards. DS wasn't the most cooperative but we got a couple of good ones and that's all I was hoping for! Then we went and got our tree Have to rearrange the house a bit before we (aka DH) put it up.
Last night DH & I went out to dinner with one of his closest friends and baby started to kick. His friend asked to feel and of course I said sure, and he felt it. Then DH felt the baby kick too like a minute later. I feel kinda bad that his friend felt it first since DH hadn't ever felt it before, but I did ask him several times before if he wanted to feel kicks previously & he never did - I think he was too weirded out about it. His reaction right after: "That's my son!!! That's him practicing his kicks, getting ready for the NFL!! Yeahhh!" He was so happy & excited about it lol ..that restaurant was also the place where our relationship started years ago, so I feel like it was the perfect place for it to happen even though he wasn't the first to feel it.
Today and tomorrow are just filled with work for me, & hopefully getting some time to practice a presentation I have to give on Monday. DH is setting up baby's dresser & crib while I work this weekend so I'm excited to see the finished products!
@serenity13 how sweet that it was in the same restaurant! if you ever need to kick start labor, you guys might wanna have a meal there lol it seems to have good juju for you.
Decorated our tree last night, and today DH built a mantle for our wood burning stove area, and I did some more work cleaning out the old office area that will be baby's room. I also cleaned out our utility closet and reorganized all our extra sheets and blankets. Nesting!!! Tomorrow I'm going to start baking Christmas cookies and TRY SO HARD not to eat any.
My sister graduated college today about 5hours away so we drove down last night and are driving back tonight. Tomorrow is going to be spent on the couch and doing laundry.
Hibernating during a snow storm. It just started, but we're expected to get 7-12 inches! I'm the one that does the shoveling, too. Not very excited about it.
We're at my parent's house... Took DS to see Paw Patrol Live this morning (a little creepy but not as bad as I thought it would be) and then I took DS to get a haircut and he just cried the whole time. Tomorrow we're seeing my nieces and nephews and then driving home.

@serenity13 no need to feel bad if he refused before!! Maybe his friend asking to feel made him realize he was being silly and should want to! Cute that it would happen in a place with meaning!!

Just got home from my husband's office Christmas party...casino night. it was more fun than I expected, but boy does my back hurt from standing at tables for 3 hours.
My team had a swim meet today. They did an awesome job. Both teams won. After that I had to come home to enter results and send everything off. I need to work on lesson plans and both mine and DD's hair but i guess that will be done tomorrow.
@longliveregina I wish!!! My husband is disabled AND currently looking for a job. Money is tight so I really don't want to pay someone to shovel snow. I asked my OB and she said that I shouldn't be tackling shoveling in the huge storms (like this), but it's cold and the snow is light so I can use our little snow blower.
Fingers crossed I don't have to do too much actual shoveling.
DH and I went and looked at Christmas lights at the botanical garden in town on Saturday and then Sunday we had his two little cousins (13 &14) come over and hang out (they DH clean up around the house.) The boys wanted to play Madden so needless to say I whooped all 3 of the boys, DH included, in 3 friendly games of Madden. My son will be a little beast at Madden like his Momma
