DD2 is rounding out and feels like such a chunk compared to DD1! Makes me feel like this every hour nursing shenanigan is worth it! DD2 on left, DD1 on right (don't mind the wailing face, girlfriend is only happy if she's touching my body, and she wasn't for about 13 seconds, so all heck broke loose!)
The little guy was born at an even 9 lbs, left the hospital at 8lbs 10oz, went to the pediatrician the following day at 8lbs 13oz, and just weighed in at his one week appointment at 9lbs 14.5oz!
Though, admittedly my excitement is mostly because A. that means I'm producing enough milk for the time being and B. the blood screening has him being retested for immune deficiencies that are commonly called "bubble boy syndrome," but one of the signs is failure to thrive and I like to think that weight gain is thriving.
@MaMaBear1323 what are you making in there heavy cream?? maybe I'm just making skim milk Hahaha. my little guy is almost 4 weeks and even though he is gaining he is JUST barely back to birth weight. I'm jealous!
My babe went from 8lb 14 oz birth weight - 8lb 6oz leaving the hospital and at 5.5 weeks he was at 10lb 14 oz! And grew from 21 inches to 23.6 inches!!
And he has great output... today he threw up on me. I wiped it off my pants and kept going. Then an hour later this giant pee:

@leighry he really REALLY likes the boob! We nurse on demand every 1-2hrs during the day and 2-3hrs at night. DD was also a power nurser and chunky baby. She was in 2T clothes at a year old!

@kristah2 This happened to us twice today too!! The pee part, not the spit up. My husband just asked why LO has been in three different outfits today... Oh buddy, if you only knew.
I feel like superwoman today. I folded and put away laundry, met H for lunch, went to the grocery store, and cooked dinner all by myself today in addition to all the baby stuff. I'm exhausted but I finally feel more like myself which is good because I have been in a serious funk the past few days. Aaaaand, LO slept from 12 to 5am last night!!! Wahoo!!
I haven't done laundry in a week. I try, but end up having to rewash the same load because I didn't get to it in time. A 3yo and a newborn is exhausting. I did make dinner yesterday. It was in the crockpot... but it still counts right?

@kvruns Well I'm clearly no expert since I'm sitting in my living room still in my PJ's with none of my to-do's done since LO will not let me put him down today. I guess that's why they say to take it one day at a time. Ugh.
My wedding rings fit again!!! Woo hoo! 4.5 weeks PP. Also I just started a Shakeology program where I have a shake for lunch in place of a meal every day so I'm hoping those pounds continue to drop off feeling good about myself today
@rspalding001 I love and miss my Shakeology!!! I wasnt sure if it was ok to drink while breastfeeding because I know my dr. told me not to while pregnant. Let me know, I want to get back on it!
@anne11716 the vitamin A was the concern during pregnancy since it was already 100% of your daily value and could cause problems with the baby if consumed in excess. While bF'ibg it's fine as long as you don't also take a prenatal since it has so much in it already. So while I'm doing the shake I won't be taking a prenatal vitamin. The only other thing is to make sure your overall calorie intake does not dip too low so your milk production isn't effected. So still have a healthy breakfast, dinner and snacks throughout the day. If you look on Pinterest there are lots of good shakeology BF'ing ideas too like adding bananas and oats to the shake for example.
Today I showered, brushed my teeth, put on deodorant, wore real non maternity clothes and took the baby by myself to brunch with a friend. I am winning at life this morning.
For New Year's Eve dinner, we had our first meal out as a family of four and it was great! There were no tantrums from the almost 3 year old and LO woke up halfway through the meal and kept her cool. Granted we were only brave enough to go to Chick-fil-A but I'm calling it a victory!
It's been five and a half weeks and LO just had the first poop to stay entirely contained in his diaper!
What?! He's pooped out of the diaper every time? That's crazy. Mine has had two poopsosions and a pee out today but we blame that partly on switching to larger diapers bc we ran out of newborns. Can't imagine having it always come out?!
Baby B just rolled from belly to back 8 times in a row. Every time I put him down on his belly for tummy time he flipped over within 30-60 seconds. He's done it a few times randomly but never like this. I know gravity is in play but he didn't even have his arms underneath him that much
I have a roller too. LO rolled from belly to back at 2.5 weeks and consistently does it every time she's on her stomach. I thought it was a fluke the first time she did it, but she did it four times in a row then and hasn't stopped. We can't keep her on her belly for tummy time. Slow down, baby!!!
I had my husband give Nicholas a bottle for the first time today in preparation for me going back to work in a few weeks. I went out so I wouldn't be home to interfere or micromanage the situation, but after a text of "he won't take it" I came home to a frustrated husband and baby. I took him, walked him around to give husband a break and then tried myself. He didn't like it and fussed for me for a minute but then took it. I let my husband finish the feeding and he felt much better about it. I told him that he should start giving Nick a nighttime bottle and put him to bed to help them both with the upcoming transition and so we will start that tonight. Fingers crossed it goes okay.
I owned the two kids, one parent thing today and it included shots at the doctor! I didn't actually get anything accomplished but I feel accomplished.
Boom! Nice job, mama!
I finally got my bootie to the gym with the kids! I only had an hour of childcare left by the time I got there, but I did it! I made an appointment for tomorrow and the next day, I'm not totally sure I'll be on my game enough to do both though!
I put A in her rock n play while I made dinner last night. I listen to music while I cookand when Stuck in the middle with you came on, my husband and i started singing and dancing along. A thought it was the greatest thing and started smiling and laughing. We picked her up and started dancing with her and she loved it (so did we.)
LO is two months today and rolled from tummy to back! I was so surprised and excited I cheered, clapped, and dropped to the floor to congratulate him. He smiled so big! Then we practiced about 5 more times. So exciting!
Global warming is scary but sometimes delightful! It's in the 60s here today... found a Britax B-agile for $125, still in the box. DH went to get it. Took E on her first stroll today! She's only been out of the house for her check-ups and weight checks so it was very exciting for us. She slept the entire stroll, haha.
NIP victories today: the first in the carrier while walking through the aquarium with DD and the second at lunch without drawing any attention. There was a third in the car but that's not really public.
