Rants/Raves/Questions? Last year, my male cat had a bladder blockage and made him a bit mental. He started blaming the litter box for his pain and would pee in the corner next to the box instead. Even after I got the problem fixed, he still kept doing it. Now this is supposed to be the baby's room and I can't start decorating it because we have to fix the carpet - pull back carpet, cut out pad, treat subfloor, lay new pad, have carpet professionally cleaned. I need to get my H on this, but I feel bad giving him a big list of honey-dos because he works 60+ hours a week. GRRRR

It took until I was in my 30's to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up.

Any new symptoms or changes? still short of breath- asked my doc if it was supposed to be happening now and she said it sounded about right since this is my 2nd

Rants/Raves/Questions? so bummed that my doc is very adamant about another c sect. I was really hoping to try for a vbac and without even knowing if I'll have the same issue as last time she is continuously prepping me for the fact that I'll be getting another c sect. I feel like I don't have much control of anything as far as the birth goes. I asked if she would do something like a gentle c sect and she said no. I asked about delayed cord clamping and she said no. I want to go with another doc but not many in my area accept my insurance...

GTKY: If you went to college ... where did you go?  If you didn't, what did you do instead?  If you are not into this question - what do you enjoy most in your life right now? no college for me, higher education was never taught as a priority by my parents and I'm thankful for the for many reasons. My husband and i have a focus and direction in life that isn't primarily secular careers.

Upcoming appointments this week? I had my OB appointment yesterday- HR good, fundal height on track, baby moving all over the place so we couldn't hear the heart beat very well- she tried so hard to get her to cooperate so I could hear the HB better but she had to just give up and said haha shes definitely fine! Got my tdap vaccine and rhogam. Failed my 1 hour GTT barely so have to do the 3 hour on Thursday OB thinks since my blood sugar wasn't too high I should pass but still a pain in the butt! 

Any new symptoms or changes? Burning skin still on/off on my belly- OB said just from skin stretching, nothing you can really do but keep moisturizing. Hands still swollen somewhat- curious how long I can go before I have to take my rings off completely. 

Rants/Raves/Questions? Just hoping I pass my glucose test- being a dietitian/nutritionist just makes me feel like I will be a failure if I have GD even though that is silly to think. Can't believe I will be in the 3rd trimester next week!

I went to Michigan State University- our mascot is a Spartan thus my screen name. I hope my daughter will follow in my foot steps and go to my alma mater but in the end its where she wants to go (as long as she doesn't go to University of Michigan we will be okay )

How big is baby? Kale. Not going to lie, I don't know how big that is. 

Upcoming appointments this week? Nope, next Monday for the glucose test.

Any new symptoms or changes? Baby is moving more everyday it seems like and I'm having some lower back pain if i'm sitting or standing too long. 

Rants/Raves/Questions? My husband is starting on the crib build this weekend!! I'm so excited to see how it turns out! 

GTKY: If you went to college ... where did you go?  If you didn't, what did you do instead?  If you are not into this question - what do you enjoy most in your life right now? I went to a local community college for my Associate's degree in Business Administration. I stopped going after I finished that. I honestly didn't want the student loan debt that comes with further education. The job opportunities around here aren't super great so I would have been stuck in a position that I didn't want while still being in debt.

Upcoming appointments this week? I have my three hour glucose test on Monday morning and antibodies...I don't know what that is...then my normal appointment that afternoon.

Any new symptoms or changes? Lightening crouch has started. 

Rants/Raves/Questions? Does anyone know what an antibodies test is?

I did not go to college.  I just started working instead.  If I could go back and do it, I would probably give college a try.  I do love my job that I have now and I've been here for ten years.

@klz0330 I think the antibody test is to see if you are Rh negative or not. They check it in 1st tri and around beginning of 3rd tri....I just got mine rechecked yesterday. They also did a RPR test that looks for antibodies that would be present if you had syphilis.

1) 24 weeks!!! So happy to hit viability!!

3) No appointments this week

4) More discharge lately and definitely feeling larger! Also have been sick lately, so dealing with cold symptoms.

5) Hmm I have a rave today: my mom started organizing a joint baby shower for both me & my sister (she's due in May with her first also). At first I was very opposed to having a shower for myself but since we're gonna have a joint party I'm really excited about it & think it'll be a lot of fun & a great memory for all of us to share.

6) I went to Penn State for business and graduated a year early so I could avoid taking out student loans. I was really fortunate to leave college debt free thanks to merit scholarships I earned throughout high school. As much as I want my kids to go to college, I'm one who believes if you want it you should pay/earn your own way and not rely on your parents for support with higher education. DH thinks we should pay for our kids college so that's gonna be a fight for us when we cross that bridge, but I really believe in hard work & feel like if I could do it so can our kids. I'll graduate with my masters degree in the spring (while I'm on maternity leave haha) and really looking forward to being done with school for good!

Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling more pressure/soreness in my lower abdomen. Last week my doctor confirmed the baby is sitting super low and is actually smushed right up against my cervix. My doctor didn't seem concerned and said my cervix looks nice and long, but I wish baby would move up just a little bit further!

Rants/Raves/Questions? I think I'm starting to slow down my pace in general and it's bothering me. It seems like random things are taking me longer to do and I don't like it! For example, I still haven't finished completely decorating for Christmas; in past years I could do this in a few hours. Well it's been a few hours and it's still not done. Ugh.

I went to St. John's University in NY and majored in Marketing. I really enjoyed the major but I've never had a marketing job (I'm currently in HR).

Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling like I have to pee while walking, so that's been great.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: My DD started pre-school yesterday (she has a late birthday so we're jumping in halfway through the year) and she loves it.  Seeing how excited she was is a nice reminder for why I go to work to be able to provide things like that for her (its private school).  I'm struggling hard with certain aspects of my job right now so I needed that.

GTKY: If you went to college ... where did you go?  If you didn't, what did you do instead?  If you are not into this question - what do you enjoy most in your life right now? I originally went away to the University of Illinois, but like many other 18 year olds - I spent considerably more time partying that I should have.  My parents lovingly refer to that year as my "$30,000 vacation".  I came home and jumped into the workforce, climbing the corporate ladder.  I've recently gotten to a point where I realized I either needed to finish or I was going to start hitting some hard plateaus, so I'm in the process of completing what I started so many years back.  I finally finish up in March and could not be more excited to be done!

Any new symptoms or changes? Starting to feel larger.  Can definitely tell there is a little one in there. 

Rants/Raves/Questions? My husband has been so awesome thus far.  I really don't know what I would do with out him.  He starting reading 'The Expentant Father' which really makes me happy because I feel like he is taking interest in all the changes. 

GTKY: If you went to college ... where did you go?  If you didn't, what did you do instead?  If you are not into this question - what do you enjoy most in your life right now?  I went to Youngstown State University for my undergraduate where I played college soccer, and Central Washington University for my Masters. I didn't have time to drag it out, so I finished both in 6 years straight and came away with no debt.  It can be done!

How far along are you? 28 weeks! 3rd trimester!

Upcoming appointments this week? Had one today. I found out I passed my glucose test (yay) and that my weight and size are good. Also got to hear the strong heart beat again.  

Any new symptoms or changes? Starting to get pretty large. I was so excited to get that baby bump, but now i'm starting to realize that it's only going to keep growing and it already doesn't feel like I can get much larger lol

Rants/Raves/Questions? It's getting harder to sleep. I'n getting bigger and Baby keeps moving through the night and gets hiccups at 4am. He finally calms down between 5am and 10:30am, which isn't ideal since I need to get up and go to work when he finally feels like sleeping. I guess it's just getting me ready for when he is actually here and I don't sleep. 

GTKY: If you went to college ... where did you go?  If you didn't, what did you do instead?  If you are not into this question - what do you enjoy most in your life right now? I did my undergrad at California State University, Los Angeles and my law degree at California Western. Law school was a little difficult in beautiful San Diego. The top (fourth) floor of our law library was all glass and over looked the downtown and the bay. It was a little maddening to be surrounded by such beauty while suffering through grueling school that had me there even on the weekends and holidays. (Although I did love my law school, which you won't hear often from lawyers.)

I got my bachelor's degree at Utah State University. I got my MBA from Western Governors University - just finished that in March of this year.

Upcoming appointments this week? none until Dec. 27

Any new symptoms or changes? Baby took a liking to kicking my bladder today, so naturally, I had to go a lot! I'm getting frequent backaches when sitting or standing for too long, so a change in posture helps relieve discomfort. 

Rants/Raves/Questions? I saw kicks through layers of clothing last night! I've seen them on my bare belly for a few weeks now, and it's cool that she's continuing to get stronger and bigger.  

GTKY: If you went to college ... where did you go?  If you didn't, what did you do instead?  If you are not into this question - what do you enjoy most in your life right now? I went to Iowa State for undergrad and Drake University for graduate school. I'm a nerd, and I love learning. I'd like to get my doctorate one day if there is a field I'm interested in and the degree would be worth it. A second masters is also an option if it'd help move me up career-wise (or in a different career altogether). I enjoy teaching, but I alway say that if I'm still doing it in 20 years, it's because I want to, not because I have to.
