I've been oddly concerned about fetal movement for some reason - not because he is actually moving any less it's just on my mind all the time

Next Tuesday, then I think I start weekly appointments

    6. Rants/raves/whatever

    3. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)
SO TIRED.  I'm actually sleeping pretty much through the night and I"m still just dragging all day.  I just ate a cookie to wake up- but I'm sure I'll still fall asleep on the train on my way home.  I am still having moments of struggling to catch my breath even through I feel baby girl's head firmly on my bladder and cannot stop running to the bathroom.  I am also super dehydrated.  It just got chilly in the northeast again so I'm thinking it's the heat being turned on everywhere that is drying me out more- but I feel like no matter how much I drink I still need more. Heartburn is calming down- but I also switched to prilosec from zantac so it could be the medicine is working better.

    4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
Mostly I'm feeling fine- but every once and I while I get really nervous that nothing is guaranteed until she's in my arms.  My husband's friend and his wife suffered a stillborn last year and set up a charisty in the baby's name.  I know that it's unlikely to happen but when I hear stories like that I get a little panicked.

    5. When is your next appointment?
The 16th for my strep b test and then I start weekly appointments.  I also need to get some more blood work.

    6. Rants/raves/whatever
Rants- even my maternity clothes are getting tight.  I don't want to buy new pants but I also don't think I can go to work/doctor's appointments/holiday parties in my pajama pants.

Rave- Drawstring pants are the best.  Whoever invented them is my hero.

    7. Anything else on your mind?
We started looking at houses!  My husband I tend to agree on style/ decor until we start shopping.  Buying a couch was the worst experience ever- until it came time to buy a bed, but at least then I knew what I was getting into.  I was so scared that we would be fighting about all the little details and I'd be a hot hormonal mess, but so far we are still on the same page.

    8. GTKY - is there anything that no one told you about pregnancy that you've found out during this one?
I can't think of anything- but as someone in their mid- thirties I have been around pregnant women (friend and cousins) talking about being pregnant and everything that comes with it for almost 2 decades.  I guess the most valuable thing that I learned from all these women is that no two pregnancies are the same and everyone reacts differently to being pregnant.  I guess the only thing I wish I had known was how hard it was going to be emotionally.  Besides the raging hormones and the pgal brain I just feel like this was mentally and emotionally hard.

  • 2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue?
    36 weeks! Jan 4th -Pink!

    3. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)
Pretty good still - heartburn that's controlled by tums, BH contractions are starting to become pretty frequent, pubic symphysis pain is pretty killer, swelling of feet is bad at night, and I've been having some mild hip/leg pain in the evenings.

    4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
I get nervous sometimes about fetal movements. It's like we'll have two days of lots of movement, two days of a little more chilled out, then a day of more minimal movement, only for the cycle to start again the next day with crazy movement. She always passes kick counts though, so I've been trying to stress about it less.

    5. When is your next appointment?
Tomorrow morning, last set of blood work, GBS swab, I'm guessing a cervix check (which I will let them do since I've been having some period-like cramping), and a biophysical profile complete with growth scan and NST. It should make for a doozy of a morning.

    6. Rants/raves/whatever
My cat, Razzy, is sick. She had blood in her urine this morning, so we went to the vet. She's lost 3lbs since her checkup in August, and has been eating less than normal since before Thanksgiving. We were planning to take her in on Black Friday, but she was eating better then (and since then) so we thought we were out of the woods. So, I just feel terrible that I've missed something and that we should have taken her in sooner. Nothing was immediately wrong during her physical exam, but since that's a 30% body weight loss, I feel like we're going to have something show up through the blood panel. So, I'm nervous for her.

    7. Anything else on your mind?
Trying to keep some mild semblance of work productivity until my last day on the 16th.

    8. GTKY - is there anything that no one told you about pregnancy that you've found out during this one?
Pubic symphysis pain. Like I knew there would be aches and pains, but I had no idea that it would feel like someone has kicked me directly in the pubic bone constantly for the entire 3rd trimester. Blech! (I also know that this doesn't happen in all pregnancies and also that it can be a lot worse than what I've got going on!) I also thought that baby hiccups would be cute, but they're really just annoying.

36 weeks -- I can hardly believe it.  Jan 3.  Green.

    3. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)
Horrible pelvic pain - with you on that, @cjs260!  As I said in another post, sometimes my legs feel week from it if I've been sitting for too long.  I'm so nervous it won't go away after delivery -- is that an irrational fear???  I sure hope so.  BH that are more regular and constant peeing in the middle of the night.

    4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
I've also noticed days of less movement and then days of constant movement (still meeting kick counts though).  It must be normal.  My anxiety is a little more centered on birth now.  I get nervous thinking about having a horrible birth or imagining that I won't recover well and have some kind of lasting issues based on the birth.  I'm pretty sure this is irrational, but it does freak me out.

    5. When is your next appointment?
I have another NST on Friday.  Besides that, I'll still have my NSTs until delivery, but my next regular appointment is at 38 weeks (then 39, then 40).

    6. Rants/raves/whatever
I'm really over The Bump app.  It is constantly giving me problems.  I'm also upset about my quasi-debilitating pelvic pain.

    7. Anything else on your mind?
Can't wait for the weekend to sleep in!!!

    8. GTKY - is there anything that no one told you about pregnancy that you've found out during this one?
I'm pretty much with you again, @cjs260 on the pubic symphysis pain.  I always assumed there would be back pain and swelling.  I have neither of those things (knock on wood I didn't just jinx myself!!)  But the pain I feel in my crotch is just horrible.  It makes so many daily tasks difficult.  Not to sound like a broken record, but I just really hope it goes away after delivery!!
  • I haven't had a chance to get on TB much lately so it's been awhile since I've updated.  Hi everyone!

    2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue?
    35 weeks, 1/10, team pink

    3. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)
Sooo tired. Starting to hobble around a bit, feeling aches and pains in hips and back.  Heartburn has been manageable.

    4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
Ok.  Starting to feel anxious about the delivery.  Last time it was a bit rough and I'm hoping things are smoother this time.

    5. When is your next appointment?
    Tuesday, 12/13

    6. Rants/raves/whatever
Had an eventful Thanksgiving day.  I was in middle of nowhere at my ILs house and started having terrible pain on my right side.  It seemed to be far away from baby, so I was thinking appendicitis or something.   DH started driving me to the ER and about an hour after the pain started, it disappeared.  I talked to my OB and they ordered an abdominal ultrasound, which revealed multiple kidney stones on both sides.  One is very large (1.3cm).  Ugh, just what I want to have looming in my mind.  So I have an appointment with a urologist on 12/22 but there's nothing that can be done while I'm pregnant.  I don't really want to have to take care of this while I'm out on maternity leave either, but I can't afford more time off once I get back.   Just really sucky.

    7. Anything else on your mind?
Christmas tree is up and last night DH and I put lights on it.   When DD came downstairs this morning, she screamed with excitement and started singing Oh Christmas Tree.  So many feels. Toddlers are a roller coaster.  Sometimes they are incredibly frustrating then others they just warm your heart completely.

    8. GTKY - is there anything that no one told you about pregnancy that you've found out during this one?
STM here, but I was surprised by how different this pregnancy was from my first.  This one has been a lot harder, physically and emotionally.  I thought I would sail happily through like I did the first time around.

  • @LoneStar21416 Have you found anything that helps the PSP? I can't for the life of me find a solution except to lay in my recliner - which is boring and lazy, haha.

  • @cjs260 no, and it's so frustrating. My doctor gave me a belt, but I don't think it's doing anything. She cautioned me that the belt was more for prolapse issues or people experiencing buldging veins, which I don't seem to have, but we figured we'd give it a try. I didn't even wear it today, but I'll probably try it again tomorrow.

I find that sitting in my work chair / being at work for some reason seems to aggravate it. I felt a lot better over last weekend for some reason. I'm assuming it's bc I can change into different positions and take the weight off my pelvis more easily at home as opposed to sitting upright all day???

I'm not sure if you experience this, but I get sharp pains if I try to swing one leg out (of either the car or the bed, whatever). Now I keep my legs zipped up together as much as possible when I do something like that. I try to move my legs together in one movement, and while that is awkward, it is MUCH less painful and I think it results in less flare ups.
  • @LoneStar21416 Swinging out of bed is when it is for sure at its worst. Like you said, I really try to keep my legs together as much as possible. For me, the weekend means I get to sleep in and am walking around less, which I think allows for rest. I think mine hurts the absolute worst (apart from the bedtime ups and downs and side-to-sides) is going up stairs - which I have to do to get to a women's restroom. I've got 7 days left of work, and I'm just so ready to be able to be lazy.
