Alright ladies......let's hear it..... I'll post mine in the comments

Re: Monday Bitchfest 12/5

  • We are slightly short staffed today and not only do I have a LAZY ass assistant in my room, I have 23 kids that are driving me up the wall!  I wish the assistant would get up off her lazy ass and intervene when these kids are acting crazy, but no I guess I will.  So damn annoying.  AHHHH I feel better now!  rant over!
  • Loading the player...
  • OH and it smells like rotten bananas in my classroom bc of the bananas that were served for lunch!  LORD help me today!
  • I had to do a 24-hour urine collection (baseline to compare to third tri values due to previous history of gestation hypertension) and the f*cking hospital system had my poor DH running all over the county trying to figure out which lab he had to drop it off with. He called and received numerous responses from numerous people, was kept on hold, and got to work late because of poor organization and a plain lack of accountability! As a healthcare worker, myself, I am ashamed of people who work in healthcare who just DGAF. You should be caring, honest, and patient with every person who seeks care at any level! I know it isn't a retail job, but customer service is still very relevant to the healthcare industry, people!

  • In a word: Insurance. UGH!!!!

I work in Europe for an American organization, so I have international health insurance. I called today to find out what all would be covered for pregnancy. The woman on the phone basically said only things covered in the US are covered here (which is crazy since the systems are SO different - and hence the whole purpose of an international plan). Beyond that, she wasn't really able to say for sure what would or would not be covered.

Sweet. This is a reimbursement-based system, so basically I have to pay out of pocket each time and hope that they will magically decide to cover the costs based, apparently, on zero written rules or standards.

The rep also gave me misinformation about co-pays. So, I actually don't trust anything she's saying. Ugh!!!!
  • I told my coworkers today about my pregnancy. One woman came over to me after and said that she suspected, because I usually gain weight in my hips and thighs and lately I'm gaining weight in my stomach. Oh. Thanks...?
  • @MrsCaliRN- that would be SUPER frustrating.
@virginiaunicorn11- I'll agree that insurance companies suck!  Yours sounds a lot worse than anything I've had to deal with though!  SO Sorry you have to deal with that BS!

I got misinformation from one of the nurse at my OB office on Friday and thankfully I double checked to today bc I was never suppose to stop taking folgard.  One of the nurses at my DR office told the pharmacy that i should not take it anymore since they prescribed a prenatal vitamin .  Thank goodness I didn't listen to them!
  • @meg2704- OH HELL NO!  That would make me wanna slap them! lol
  • I'm at the end of my last semester of an early childhood education associates degree. We have to do a professional portfolio which includes 2 items from all 14 classes we took THEN we have to annotate each item!! Plus a bunch of other crap. What potential employer is really going to take the time to look at this?! Such a waste of trees :( and my time!

  • @virginiaunicorn11 I am dreading this very thing.  I haven't gotten an invoice from my Dr. here yet, but they told me they'd bill the entire pregnancy/delivery in one lump sum, and I'm not sure how that will go with my insurance.  :/

@alm52386 They probably wont even look at it.  I get your frustration though!  I had to do one when I graduated (11 years ago :o) and I don't think anyone asked for it.  I think I took along to some interviews but they never really wanted to see it.
  • 2 things.  The stupid bump won't let me love anyone's posts

My damn insurance won't give me diclegis and is limiting my zofran to 24 pills every 30 days but I got around that by getting a script for oral and ODT so I can have 48 pills every 30 dAys but now my OB doesn't want to refill my ODT script.  It's not Percocet people.  I hate being treated like a drug addict.  I don't want to take meds but that's my only option short of ending up dehydrated in the hospital.

  • @meg2704 Don't you just love people like that? It reminds of a coworker I had when I was getting married. She wanted to see a photo of my dress and I showed her...she told me how great I looked in the dress and said "guess all you need to worry about is toning your arms.." I wanted to punch her in the face. I can't imagine what would come out of her mouth of she saw me pregnant.
  • Since I am a full time grad student who doesn't have health benefits while completing a full time unpaid internship, and has a child and one on the way, I qualify for Medicaid. I applied for it in late September. I got a letter 45 days after that requesting a million back up documents. I submitted those documents in person over 3 weeks ago. I have been patiently waiting for an update and you know, some damn insurance since I've been paying for the doctor out of pocket so far.  After many, many phone calls and hours of waiting I spoke to my case manager today who just said "Oh I didn't know you had brought the paperwork in."....then what happened to it when I physically handed it to a person in your office almost a month ago?! The worst experience. And it's still not over.
  • I love my husbands family.  They are close by, are helpful, loving, and super close as a family unit.  MIL can be a bit overbearing at times, however I do recognize that it comes from a place of love for her family.  She has "joked" about stealing the baby in the middle of the night.  DH has had to ask her not to show up to the house and she must ring the doorbell first (she has unexpectedly come over while were intimate at times!) This weekend, MIL as if she can go to the 20 week scan with DH and I.  Ummmm no.  This is not your baby, and the ultrasound is a medical procedure.  Would you want to come to my mammogram?  At least she hasn't asked to be in the delivery room.... yet.

That sucks!! I also qualify for Medicaid while pregnant but I have had an easy time dealing with them. So far. Hope it gets better!

@Xath omg one massive bill?! That gives me anxiety and I don't even actually know you. I'm sorry, lady!

Thank you ladies for validating my frustrations - it seriously helps! @xath @bethk93 @Jendink

@LMMama that is so frustrating. The incompetence of some people makes me irate!!
  • We are in the middle of buying a house. We have sold our house and have a closing date at the beginning of January. We were hoping to close on the new house the same day. The man selling us his house is using a relocation company and this company is requiring a ridiculous amount of documents and have had us sign the contract multiple times because they had to change minor things...on their end, not mine. Also they have marked things on the contract such as "well water" when it's supposed to be "public water" like it is on the listing and WE are the ones having to search it out because they can't get their crap together. My husband has threatened to walk away many times because of this company but I love this house so I'm having to appease him and the company at the same time. It's pushing back our closing date because it will take at least a month to get a new mortgage loan settled! We sent in the paperwork again today and hope there are not anymore issues so we can move on with the home inspection.
  • @NurseSHS13 My mom recently went through some closing issues with her house. Hopefully everything turns out well for you!

  • @merrylea oh geez. My ExH's grandma was the same way. She was mad that I didn't want her there during the delivery (which was a schedule c/section...) but she didn't like me anyway. Hopefully your MIL shapes up!

  • I AM SO SICK OF NAUSEA.

I was feeling better for about a week to a week and a half. Then this morning, I was trying to get some writing done on the train (I'm an author in my downtime and I usually use the 1.5 hour commute times to write). I haven't been able to write in a month and a half because I've felt so sick. This morning I was feeling fine. BUT MY COMPUTER wouldn't turn on -- battery dead. Why? Fuck if I know. Because I didn't plug it into the wall right? How hard can that be?

So I was writing on the notepad in my phone because by the goddess, I will prevail! Until I wrote for about 15 minutes and then felt so sick I had to will myself not to throw up. Last time I tried the throwing up thing and I felt sick all day.

Didn't matter. Sick all day. AUGH! I'm on max Diclectin and I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS SHIT.

I feel you. I closed on my house Friday and the whole process was a special kind of hell with this joke of a lender. We went into the closing fully prepared to walk away if our original broker's name showed up anywhere on the paperwork. That bad.

@BelhurstBride yes! Keep that later due date! It's frustrating when they change it, especially given the margin of error at this point on the ultrasound measurements and varied growth rates!
But bonus for the later date! I tried to fight them for mine, but they moved it up :(

I got that from someone whom I pretty much can't stand because she says stupid crap without thinking. It's like... Mmm. Yeah. Thanks.

You would think a woman who has had children (which I know because she gave me a lecture about what she thought I should do about mat leave last pregnancy) would KNOW BETTER.

But this is why she can't get promoted. Because she doesn't think before she speaks. Ha.

  • @halfthetree , I got stuck with my date being moved up with DD2. I wasn't actually sure of my LMP with her, so I didn't have much of a leg to stand on.

Luckily, my OB is pretty anti intervention, so after I agreed to some testing when I went overdue she was happy to let me continue the pregnancy, particularly in light of the date change. DD2 came on her own two weeks past her (changed) due date, but my OB was willing to let me go another week had the u/s and BPP still looked good.

  • We went to Disney Springs to do photos with Santa. My husband, despite me reminding him, forgot to hand his phone to the photographer to snap personal pictures for ourselves (my phone camera is broken). The only way we can get the Santa photos now is to pay $60 for 1 that came out ok. Nope. Noooooope. Back to Santa we go. Thanks, man.
  • One of my kids favorite phrases when they aren't behaving is but I wanna be good.  Well kids, I would like that too so knock it off and behave!  Bedtime has been awesome here this evening and I could really use a drink.

    Dear "morning sickness",
F-you!!!  I thought I'd be ok to stop taking unisom/b6. BIG MISTAKE
  • @Jendink hugs. morning sickness is a b***h.

I found out that my comanager at my work (We became manager at the same time, I started working here before he did, and I have more experience at our brand of hotel than he does) makes A DOLLAR FIFTY MORE THAN ME. And he works way less than me! I'm so friggin pissed. But I can't say anything to my management about it because I'm not even supposed to know how much he makes. (The guy accidentally let it slip out as we were talking about bills and such.)
