I feel like I belong here right now more than in the WTO/TWW threads. I haven't ovulated since July (based on OPKs) and my cycle was 92 and recently 48 days long. I had my annual back in September with blood work and everything came back "normal and it was probably just a wonky cycle" and that I should call if they stayed irregular. I made an appointment for next week which would have been CD 55ish but today is now CD1. Should I cancel and schedule again if this cycle is irregular/anovulatory or should I just keep the appointment? What would you do if you were in my shoes?
@Becky012016 I think if I were you I would call and let them know that you seem to still be irregular but you did start a new cycle. The doctor can decide if it make sense for you to come in.

What a long day, but full of good info. So I had my HSG, the lead-up was way worse than the procedure itself. I was so nervous it was going to hurt and kept waiting for the pinching and pain. It really wasn't bad for me at all, some pressure and cramps afterward, but pretty quick and painless. DH was a rock through the whole thing.
We spoke with the RE after who was a different RE than I had originally met with. But OMG I love her! She met with us for about an hour, patiently explaining everything and answering all of our questions. BW, SA, HSG and Sono all came back normal. My progesterone that was tested by my OB at 2DPO is lower than she said she'd like to see. I explained to her how I've been charting for years and that I know exactly when I O, which is later in my cycle and my LP is 8-10 days. She agreed that that is a short LP and said she'd like to start with some progesterone supplementation first to see if that helps lengthen my LP and support enough to get my KTFU. I was so, so SO happy that she took my BBT into consideration and actually trusted that I know when I'm ovulating. I could've just cried and hugged her to pieces. The FIRST medical doctor I've ever met with who actually cared about my BBT and took it seriously.
I asked her if I could forego the blood work at 7DPO to verify that I ovulated, and go by my chart instead..and she said yes! I told her how I pass out with blood work and she was so compassionate and told me to just call the office the day after I see my temp rise, and they will instruct me to start the progesterone. It's Endometrin - anyone have experience with that?
I was just blown away by the level of care we received today and I feel so relieved to have a plan that I'm on board with. Endometrn is plan #1. If that fails, we will then discuss Clomid with regulated cycles and either sex on specific days, or Clomid with IUI. Last resort would be IVF but I don't want to go there yet. I'm starting with the Endometrin, hopefully this cycle is the insurance can get its shit together quick enough! I'm so happy to be moving forward with a plan.
THANK YOU all so much for all of your support. I was talking to DH on our drive home about TB and how it's been such a support to me, both when I was TTC DS and now TTC #2
@TravelingCouple I used Endometrin my first IUI cycle. I took 2 tablets each day, one in the morning and one at night. Mine came with an applicator which was super handy. Try to get the tablet really up in there. You will likely have leakage so I would suggest wearing a liner. The tablets are effervescent so it feels awkward. The coating may come out a few hours after insertion. Progesterone can make you tired, crampy, give you sore boobs, and may cause spotting.
@travelingcouple I'm so glad today went well and that you have a good plan moving forward! I second @ladymillil pantyliners are the way to go. I did progesterone suppositories and they were messy. Thankfully I did not have a ton Of side effects.

Update: I went in for monitoring this morning. I really wanted more than one follicle for IUI 2 but looks like just one again. U/S showed one at 18.6mm and one at a 12mm that won't mature in time. Well, at least my lining was at 9; last cycle the highest I saw before triggering was 7.5. I'm totally stoked about that. Triggering tonight. Back to back IUIs tomorrow and Sunday. Looks like I'll be testing at home on Christmas eve, beta is scheduled for Christmas day (if AF doesn't come).

@TravelingCouple I'm so happy to hear that you had a good experience! Just something to potentially consider with the bloodwork - My charts ALWAYS showed that I Oed and bloodwork and ultrasound showed that I actually hadn't. Maybe yours are perfect and it's okay, but I just wanted to offer that up. Glad you found an RE that really listens to you - I feel like that can be really rare!
@juliebeannn Hugs, always. Can't wait for your updates!
@antoto Oh wow I've never heard of that before! My OB did take BW on 2DPO last cycle that did confirm I ovulated according to when my chart said. Hopefully that isn't a one off thing! Whenever I've had BW done, it does line up with my charts. I like to avoid it if I can, but the RE did say it's the most accurate way of pin pointing exactly the level of progesterone, etc. She said they would still take my betas regardless when/if I do get a positive test.

OH that's good then - I'm sure you're in the clear Bloodwork suuuuucks.
Hi ladies, I hope it's okay that I join you here and jump in. I was diagnosed with PCOS in June and am ending ~12mo total of actively trying on our own and moving on to treatment this cycle beyond just daily meds (Metformin, Levothyroxine, and LP Progesterone). We'll do this until March and then move on to an RE then. I wanted to introduce myself and lurk some more but just wanted to say I'm rooting all of you on, wherever you are in this process.
Diagnosis (If you've been): NIR PCOS
Cycle/CD: 8(in a total of 12mo actively trying with another 4 benched / 8mo total AL)/CD 4
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Started Femara yesterday for my first cycle of Femara/monitoring/trigger with TI.
How are things going? I'm doing okay. It was hard to admit to myself that we needed intervention but now that I've crossed that hurdle, I'm feeling hopeful moving forward with our treatment and longer-term plan. Right now I'm just clinging to the next milestones these next few weeks--finish meds on CD7, then monitoring on CD11, then hopefully trigger soon after that.
Any questions?
GTKY: How is your holiday shopping going? are you one of those people who starts super early or do you procrastinate? It definitely looks like I'm in the procrastinating camp this year. We are traveling for Christmas so I'm still figuring out what I should bring vs have sent directly there.

@antoto I just read your comment about BBT falsely showing ovulation... I just heard from my doc this week that I most likely have PCOS and from my highly scientific googling, the issue is commonly lack of ovulation. But I have been confirming ovulation with temping... or so I thought. Were your cycles long or anything else odd to indicate an issue?

@hartmich Shit girl I am so sorry about your potential diagnosis. Yes, if you have PCOS you can have false LH surges that cause your chart to look like you ovulated. My cycles were never long and I always got my period. And yet I wasn't ovulating. So many hugs coming your way. Please, please feel free to ask as many questions as you can think of. ETA - the only weird symptom I ever had was spotting for a long time before my period would start. Sometimes I would spot for a whole week before my period actually started.
@antoto thanks I'm still processing it and my doc wants to talk in person after my HSG, but she said she will likely be referring me to the fertility specialist in the practice. It's quite ironic that I just got the darkest opk I've ever gotten this afternoon.

Fucking OPKs. I always turned them dark every single month. My first month of testing I went in for an ultrasound the day I got a super positive OPK. The ultrasound showed ZERO mature follicles - just dozens and dozens of cysts. That was a rough day. I kept temping and sure enough my temp shot up the next day and made it look like I ovulated. You think you know what's happening in your body and then suddenly you realize you were completely wrong and your body was lying to you. TCOYF does not prepare you for this shit. I'm here whenever you need someone to talk to
Ugh @antoto and @hartmich that is just awful, a serious mind fuck. Ok I am doing a bit of second guessing myself now then... Even though I've done the BW.

Shit girl I am so sorry about your potential diagnosis.

@antoto You just completely blew my mind. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Definitely not prepared for the idea that the charts could be lying. That's so frustrating!
@hartmich I'm so sorry about your potential diagnosis. :-(
@juliebeannn Sorry your follie growth wasn't better, but here's hoping these IUIs work. Good luck!
