Starting this myself since it's the middle of the night and I don't want to wake my labor buddy.
My water broke at about 2:00--I rolled over in bed and felt a small gush like I had gotten my period. I got up to go to the bathroom and dribbled the whole way there and for a few minutes on the toilet. I called the midwives answering service and the on call midwife said that since the fluid is clear, I'm GBS negative, and I'm not having regular/painful contractions to try and get some sleep. Well, that isn't happening...though DH is happily snoring away.
I am starting to get minor contractions every few minutes, but I can talk and breathe through them so I think I have a ways to go. The midwife said to come in around 6:00 or 7:00 if things progress slowly overnight, and my doula said to get up about 4:00 or 5:00 and get in the shower or start doing stairs to get things moving.
For now I will try that whole sleeping thing again...
