On Wed, 11.30, I was scheduled for my final appt before my RCS which was scheduled for 12.6. Beginning Monday evening and throughout Tuesday, I noticed a marked decrease in baby's movements - where it had been constant, I now had to drink cold water, lie on my side, eat something sweet , etc etc, just to get any movements and they weren't as strong or frequent as they had been. Wed morning I told DH I was taking my hospital bag just in case because something just didn't feel right.
Once I got to my appt, I told my Dr all this who decided to do a NST just to check. After 30mins of monitoring and his checking it 3xs, my Dr decided "today is baby day!" - at first he thought to have me go to L&D for a biophysical but quickly changed his mind and said that there was no real reason to wait 6 more days and be second guessing ourselves all weekend.
So, off to L&D I went to get prepped for my RCS! I'd been texting with DH, a babysitter for DS and my sister, as well as messaging with
@sourlemon throughout the morning and quickly made arrangements for DS for the next couple days. DH and I each called our parents to let them know the change of plans and, in a blink, I was in the OR getting the spinal and prepped for surgery.
Emmaleigh Kathryn was born 11.30 at 2:09pm, at 7lb9oz, 19.5in and is absolutely perfect!! She already has the sweetest temperament, is breastfeeding like a champ and is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen
DS met her today and it went very well :-D C-section recovery is going well thus far, my bleeding has slowed significantly, I've been sitting up and walking around for increasing lengths of time and, after only 1 dose of Marco am only taking Motrin for pain... we should be discharged in the morning!!
