I got a positive pregnancy test on 11/26 and had two rounds of blood work done to make sure I was progressing. I got pregnant with my son with Clomid, Injectables, and IUIs. So when you're dealing with infertility issues, they have you do a ton of blood work. My base #'s were HCG - 20, Progesterone - 25. Two days later, my #'s were HCG - 13, Progesterone - 2. So the office called and told me that I had a chemical pregnancy and that I have to go back in a week for more blood work to make sure my HCG goes all the way down. I have read that some doctors ask that you have one successful cycle before you try again, but it seems that it's for emotional reasons, not because your body physically needs to heal. I'm so so devastated by this loss, but not so devastated that I want to wait a month. I'm mostly sad because you start making plans and get so excited for a new baby, and all your hopes are just shot down. I do want to try again next month though. I have been taking Clomid and doing timed intercourse. We got pregnant on the second month of doing it. We'll try again with the same regimen next month. Has anyone gotten pregnant the month after a chemical pregnancy?

******Siggy Warning*****
I am so sorry for your loss. I had a MC in aug at around 6 weeks. After my OB followed my HCG to 0 he told me I could start trying again after a successful cycle. I think it was not just for emotional reasons but for dating reasons. I didn't really take his advice too well because we actually became pregnant 3 weeks later. I had no idea that I ovulated so it was a total shock. The beginning was tough because we had no idea how far along I was and had a few scans done. I would do what you feel most comfortable doing. There is no higher risk for CP/MC after one. Just a risk for confusion I would say. Good Luck!
