**General TW that this thread can and will mention MC and loss.***
This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say, and treat this like an ongoing conversation.
Diagnosis (If you've been):
Cycle/CD:
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?)
How are things going?
Any questions?
GTKY: How was your Thanksgiving?! If you're not American, how was your weekend?!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Same treatment as last month (Femara, Ovidrel, IUI, Progesterone), and adding in Gonal-F this time.
How are things going? Oh fine. Early enough in the cycle where I'm not too crazy yet.
Any questions?
GTKY: How was your Thanksgiving?! If you're not American, how was your weekend?! Thanksgiving was good! Good food, good company. Mostly I was just thankful for the relaxation time.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) still trying on our own, less than a month till our apointment though... I'm getting excited
How are things going? OK, I'm still in the part of my cycle where I delude myself into thinking that I have some chance of doing this without medical intervention... give me a few more days and I'll be back to reality
Any questions? nope
GTKY: How was your Thanksgiving?! If you're not American, how was your weekend?! It was crazy, we had 20 people over for dinner but it was so much fun! most of my family left yesterday so the house is quiet, it is weird when a house with 19mo old twins is quiet!

@antoto I had great responses to Gonal-f. I never did it in conjunction with Letrozole, but I'm assuming you're going to be in really good shape this cycle with that treatment plan!
@wabash15 I'm totally in the deluded phase of my cycle too lol. After six failed IUI's, and six months of trying on our own with only three AF's, why I think I may ovulate on my own this cycle is beyond me lol. But I suppose holding out hope is better than being negative about it! FX for us both.
Diagnosis (If you've been): NIR PCOS
Cycle/CD: 14/12
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) All natural cycle!
How are things going? Things are going. I started temping on CD 6 and OPK's on CD 10. So far my chart looks like it used to before medicated cycles and the OPK's are super light. I'm not disappointed yet, and I've not lost hope. It's neat to be keeping track again and seeing what my body is doing. I feel like the wait to our IVF consult on 1/9 isn't going to be long at all. With the holiday's I have a feeling it is going to fly by.
Any questions? Anyone paying for FF VIP membership? I used to months and months ago but once we started medicated cycles I let it run out. Since we aren't going to be trying on our own for very long I am not planning on purchasing it. But I'm wondering if you still get crosshairs and what not with the basic membership?
GTKY: How was your Thanksgiving?! If you're not American, how was your weekend?! It was really nice!! H and I hosted for the first time and it went off really well! He grilled a 20lb turkey and it came out amazing.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) IUI #1
How are things going? TWW is making me a bit crazy. But it's almost over. I plan on testing Wed (13dpo).
Any questions?
GTKY: How was your Thanksgiving?! If you're not American, how was your weekend?! Thanksgiving was great. A nice long relaxing weekend with great company. Can't ask for anything better.

@wabash15 and @mrsdaddario I'm in the deluded part of my cycle as well, haha. I find it comes and goes. Usually I come back to reality around O and then I get hopeful again just before AF.
@mrsdaddario I think FF still does crosshairs with just the basic version, but I'm interested to know, too. I just let my VIP subscription lapse since I wasn't getting anything out of it.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) DH is on clomid, otherwise on our own.
How are things going? *TW* A friend announced her pregnancy last week. Over the past year, I've been jealous of friends getting pregnant but now I'm at the point where I think I just don't want to see any newly pregnant friends anymore. That's a hard realization to come to, and I feel bad since this friend in particular felt awkward announcing it to me. Something about hitting 18 cycles of trying has really gotten to me.
Any questions?
GTKY: How was your Thanksgiving?! If you're not American, how was your weekend?! Too short, but very relaxing. MIL put me in charge of the turkey for the first time ever and it was a success!
@mrsdaddario Good to hear you had a good response to Gonal-F! Hopefully my body will like it too. BTW I started the Auto Immune Protocol diet yesterday. Thanks again for letting me know about the possible interaction with the immune system. The diet is pretty sad in that I miss chocolate and wine A LOT, but I feel like I just want to try everything I am physically/financially capable of trying. Also I have charted with VIP and just normal FF and I think VIP is only honestly worth it if you're non IF and you only have to try for a few months. Or at least that's how I'm feeling. Normal FF still gives you crosshairs and lets you put in symptoms, it just doesn't do stuff like analyze your symptoms and give you those points.
@mrsdaddario glad to know I'm not the only one who deludes themselves! like the other ladies have said I think you should still get CH with the basic version.
@bababatty hugs, it can be so hard seeing BFP after BFP when you have been trying for so long with no luck. you need to do what you need to do for your mental health. last time we were trying I had to completely step away from FB because I would see announcements and they would send me on crying jags.... hopefully people will understand and if not, too bad for them.

@mrsdaddario and @antoto You guys have inspired me to following the autoimmune protocol again. I started this weekend!
I genuinely don't know if I could really do this diet effectively without my husband who loves to cook/prepare food. It's so damn restrictive! We're planning to do it for the next two cycles. Then if my 3rd IUI doesn't pan out we are going to an Indian restaurant to eat all the naan and spicy food.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Letrozole, Novarel, Crinone
How are things going? Fine. I keep waiting to feel something like I did last time, but so far I haven't. My nipples are sore but that could be from the progesterone. I decided to take it because I think my regret if something went wrong would kill me. At least I know that I'm doing everything possible!
Any questions? Nah
GTKY: How was your Thanksgiving?! If you're not American, how was your weekend?! Great! I got to hang out with my one week old nephew. I cried a little bit, but it was worth it to see him!

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW I think

GTKY: How was your Thanksgiving?! If you're not American, how was your weekend?! I watched Gilmore Girls and ate pizza on Friday and tried to go Christmas shopping with DH. He was so frustrating that I gave up and told him he could go shopping by himself because I wasn't putting up with his BS

@kyersten I also did not have a super painful HSG (even though i have a super wonky cervix) - I would call it just uncomfortable. Do some slow, deep breathing and take some advil.
@Bababatty I feel the exact same way after 18 failed cycles. We usually host a Christmas dinner with two couples that are good friends of ours but both of the wives are pregnant right now and I just don't really want to put myself in that position during the holidays. "While you guys talk about your pregnancies I'm just going to go get hammered alone"...no thanks.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Surgery to remove my fibroid has finally been scheduled! It's only 2 weeks away. Plus my gyne referred me to the fertility clinic. There's a 7 month wait so it'll give us some time to try after the surgery
How are things going? I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere treatment-wise.

@wabash15 thanks!! We're likely going straight into IUI 2. My RE was conservative with dosage this cycle to see how I'd react to injectables and we only had one mature follie. So I'm gonna ask if we can shoot for 2 follies this time.

Hi ladies! This is my first time posting in this thread - hope it's okay.
Diagnosis (If you've been): Subclinical hypothyroidism, elevated prolactin. Testing to follow. Meet with RE for the first time on 12/15.
Cycle/CD: Following my MC in February, this is cycle 5, CD 51. I had a CP in October and still no subsequent AF after that.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): I thought this would be an anovulatory cycle, but had a near-positive OPK yesterday and some O-type pain, so we'll see.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Nothing this cycle other than having my TSH levels monitored.
How are things going? Ok, all things considered. I'm eager to get to the RE and hopefully get some things figured out or at least get a plan in place.
Any questions? Anyone take Levothyroxine and experience hair loss? I had my dosage upped last month (only to 50 mcg) and have noticed more hair in the drain of the shower in the mornings and more loss throughout the day.
GTKY: How was your Thanksgiving?! If you're not American, how was your weekend?! It certainly could've been better - my SIL had a MC at 16 weeks this weekend and my heart breaks for them. H and I were to be the godparents and now have a funeral/service to attend later this week. This year has been all-around terrible, so we're all looking forward to (a hopefully better) 2017.
So how crazy is this? My H was offered a new job and the health insurance will cover three IVF cycles. Our current insurance covers zero! I couldn't believe it. It was such good news! But it's a catch 22 of course because he doesn't officially start until probably the last week in December and the insurance doesn't kick in for three months. So now we have to wait even longer. I'm bummed but on the other hand super excited for the IVF coverage. It will save us so much money!
I took an IVF webinar last night that the head doctor at my fertility clinic gave. He had some really awesome things to say. Afterwards I emailed my own RE and asked about getting a laparoscopy. This is a procedure the head doctor mentioned wanting patients who have had multiple failed IUI's to get done. So my doctor responded that he would really like to meet face to face. Well he had a cancellation Monday so I took the slot. So Monday I'll go in to discuss his thoughts on laparoscopy and also IVF, even though we won't be able to start that until the new insurance kicks in. I'm excited, nervous, and sad all at once (for the waiting lol).
@mrsdaddario This is such good news. I know that seems like a long wait but it will be worth it. I don't know much about the IVF process (yet...I'm sure I will need to soon) but maybe there are steps you can take in the next few months prior to starting the actual treatment. Regardless, I am really happy for you.

@laurad75 Yes that's what I'm thinking too. I really want to take these few months to get healthier and also to see if losing some weight has any impact on the theory they have that my immune system is causing inflammation down there. The head doctor thinks everything revolves around carbs/bad diets. So I suppose now is the perfect time to test that theory out. I cut carbs two weeks ago and lost 5lbs so far, but I'm just going to keep chugging ahead!
**lurking** @mrsdaddario Wow that is amazing news!! I agree three months will fly especially with the holidays. Sounds like you have a great plan in place too. Still rooting for you so hard!
@laeberge3 I am also taking Levothyroxine but on an even higher dose. They worked me up to 75. I have not noticed any side effects but I do know that hair loss is one of them. If you think it is significant, I would discuss switching brands to see if that helps. I know there are a couple out there. GL!
*lurking* What amazing news @mrsdaddario ! It's great to see anyone get good news, but especially you I hope these 3 months absolutely fly by for you!!
@mrsdaddario that's amazing news about your insurance!!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) I had initial blood work done this month with my OB but it ended up being a waste of time as he just wanted to confirm I am ovulating when my charts say..duh. So he recommended me to a specialist and now DH and I will be getting initial blood screening done tomorrow morning first thing. After the blood work tomorrow, there will be another set for me on CD3 and DH's sperm analysis.
How are things going? I am feeling a lot of mixed emotions. I had my first initial eval with the RE back in September but I felt so overwhelmed that we didn't end up moving forward at the time. I guess I'm "ready" now, as much as a person can be to begin these type of tests.
Any questions? Not right now, I'm sure I will as time goes on.
GTKY: How was your Thanksgiving?! If you're not American, how was your weekend?! Good! We spent it with a bunch of my extended family, about 25 of us including kids. It was fun.
@mrsdaddario that's so good to hear about your DH's insurance! I know the wait sounds like it's going to suck, but it'll be worth the outcome and money saved! I hope that it flies by for you
***lurking*** **virtual high five ** @mrsdaddario. That's amazing news!! See if he can negotiate waiving the wait period (it's common in negotiation to ask but double check cause I'm in Canada. But I do the HR for our US too and I see it a lot). Either way, coverage is amazing. So happy for you - you so deserve it!!!
Me: 37 DH: 37 - Married 10.2015 ❤️ Canadian DX: Endometriosis - Stage 4, DOR, RPL
@TravelingCouple they took about 7 vials for me at my first CD3 testing. But that was also because they were testing my A1C, TSH, and something else so that might not be normal. When I went in at CD3 during my medicated cycle, they only took 2 vials!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): the next two cycles are regular old bone-town. cycle 30 we will do our first IUI- Letrazole/Gonal-F/Ovidrel/Progesterone.
How are things going? Just trying to get through the Holidays. I look forward to the IUIs, but I am trying not to get our hopes up.

Cycle/CD: Following my MC in February, this is cycle 5, CD 51. I had a CP in October and still no subsequent AF after that.
@juliebeannn Sorry for the BFN.

@laeberge3 I am also taking Levothyroxine but on an even higher dose. They worked me up to 75. I have not noticed any side effects but I do know that hair loss is one of them. If you think it is significant, I would discuss switching brands to see if that helps. I know there are a couple out there. GL!
What amazing news @mrsdaddario ! It's great to see anyone get good news, but especially you I hope these 3 months absolutely fly by for you!!
@laurad75 I'm so sorry to hear that you missed O this cycle! Hugs!

Good! We spent it with a bunch of my extended family, about 25 of us including kids. It was fun.
Yay @mrsdaddario!!! I'm so excited for you!!! That's awesome news about your husband's job.
**virtual high five ** @mrsdaddario. That's amazing news!! See if he can negotiate waiving the wait period (it's common in negotiation to ask but double check cause I'm in Canada. But I do the HR for our US too and I see it a lot). Either way, coverage is amazing. So happy for you - you so deserve it!!!
