Maternity clothes- shopping advice?

Hi all,

I'm plus size 20 and having the hardest time finding maternity pants that aren't ankle or capris, what's up with that? I was hoping to find some solid deals this weekend with black Friday and cyber Monday, but I'm coming up short. Anyone have some good tips?

Re: Maternity clothes- shopping advice?

  • I would check out kohls.com. I was in the store on Black Friday, but couldn't find my size so I ended up ordering online. While I was looking, I noticed that they had some cute pairs of pants. Plus, they were about $25, compared to a normal ticket price of $62.

I hope you are able to find some you like!

  • I was going to say Old Navy, but their maternity pants only seem to go up to size 18, that's ridiculous, since their plus size stuff is so great. You could try sizing up in their regular plus size pants. I'm still comfy in my rockstar jeans b/c they sit a little higher on the waist and have a lot of stretch. The same concept would work for leggings. I carry my weight low and had a b-belly in my last pregnancy, and didn't need real maternity pants until much further along (at which point capris, or those wide leg stretchy pants that were so popular last summer, would work great- plus maxi dresses). Good luck!

  • Thanks ladies! I know, i cant believe Old Navy is so limited! I also had some luck with JC Penney and with ebates it's an additional 16% cash back right now on top of the 33% off online.
  • I've heard great things about pinkblushmaternity.com from other Bumpees. I just went to their website to verify that they do have plus size maternity (they do) and saw that the whole site is 40% off right now.

Have you looked at Old Navy online? I know they carry more sizes online, but I am not sure about maternity. I had both Old Navy maternity pants and Gap maternity pants with my first and they were wonderful. It sucks that the maternity stuff isn't available online in Canada (you can order from the US site, but it is more expensive).

  • @ChrisLipstick- yep, I checked online for OP's size and even though Old Navy's plus size line goes up to size 30, their maternity line only seems to go up to size 18. Isn't that ridiculous? I don't think maternity stuff is available in-store in my local store so I always shop online. Thank goodness for free shipping and returns!

@doodleoodle- I had a very nice maxi dress from Pinkblush last time around, I'd love to try some of their winter clothes. Thanks!
  • Pink Blush is fantastic. The standard shipping option is pretty slow (I'm spoiled by 2 day prime shipping), but it's definitely worth it. The prices are reasonable and the quality appears to be pretty good
