I just found out I have Raynaud's phenomenon of the nipples, which basically means that if I get cold my nipples start to feel like they have tiny vices stuck on them, or they're being burned off and hurt soooo incredibly bad. It happened while I was at Disneyland last week and I had to walk around the park massaging my boobs trying to warm them up.
Yikes. If you're planning to breastfeed make sure you keep the area warm before and after feedings - use a rice sock / heating pad over your bra for a few minutes. Hopefully it won't cause too much discomfort once LO is here, but if it does, and heat doesn't help enough, find a doc who is knowledgable about breastfeeding medicine (whether or not you breastfeed) because there are some meds that can also help (not safe during pregnancy, however). If you don't know how to find a provider like that, ask around or refer your provider to the protocols at bfmed.org.
Thanks, @mdlorenz these are great suggestions that I'll definitely keep in mind. I'm super glad that my first 5 or so months breastfeeding will be during the spring/summer!
@chickyclg@arels483@starphish18 I used to have those way pre pregnancy right before my period started, and my doctor narrowed it down to pelvic floor muscle spasms. I've had them just a couple times since getting pregnant, and it makes sense that it would be a pregnancy pain too with everything stretching and moving and working in there!
I am so glad you said this! I often would get these before my period as well, but was never sure what they were. So weird.
I remember lightning crotch but that was much later into my last pregnancy. Sorry y'all are dealing with stabbing vagina pain, that sounds awful. I hope it's incredibly short lived!
