Re: First Trimester Check-in Week of 11/21

  • 1. How far along are you and what is your EDD? 12 weeks, 2 days today! I have one more week in the 1st trimester check-in... crazy. EDD is 6/3 but baby will be here no later than 5/27 (at 39 weeks).
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? My nausea returned over the weekend and I'm having tons of food aversions suddenly. I can no longer eat meat (especially chicken).
    3. When is your next appointment? 11/30 (next prenatal)
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? We called our family and close friends to announce our pregnancy this weekend! It was so much fun listening to everyone's reactions  Oddly enough, 2 of DH's friends told us their wives are pregnant as well, one is 10 weeks and the other 15 weeks. So looks like our baby will have some very similarly aged friends...

QOTW: What is an unexpected joy about being pregnant so far? This might sound strange, but I actually felt happy this weekend when my nausea returned. As much as I want to feel better, it was a nice little reminder that the pregnancy is still going well... I never expected to feel that way!

  • 1. How far along are you and what is your EDD? 13 weeks and 1 day. My last week on this board... Where did time go?! I am due 5/28 but the babies will be here before 5/14
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? Food aversions, nausea, gagging, tiredness, mood swings, you name it I seem to have it right now. Everything is starting to get better but I am still feeling most symptoms.
    3. When is your next appointment? 12/14
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? I had the first person ask me if I was pregnant last week. I am sure I will get fed up with this but I feel like it was a big milestone to have someone recognize my bump as a baby bump not fat. It made it sink in a little more.
QOTW: What is an unexpected joy about being pregnant so far? I am loving my little bump. I didn't think I would like having a bump but I love it! The more it grows the more I know they are growing.

So exciting that you have a real bump now! I feel like mine still just looks like I've gained a few, lol. Congrats on entering 2nd trimester! I shall follow you shortly

  • @wifeinraleigh28 - it is crazy.. I don't understand how this has happened. I am excited but it's setting in that May isn't that far away. Your bump will come soon. I only have one because I have two little ones who are right on top of one another. Congrats on hitting 12 weeks. I felt a huge wave of relieve last week hitting that 12 week mark.

Hey y'all, I'm headed back to the TTC thread.  We went in for our ultrasound this morning and there wasn't a heartbeat, looks like the baby stopped growing around 7 weeks.  Trying to believe we'll be back here soon.  Love to all of you.

  • 1. How far along are you and what is your EDD?
    10 weeks, EDD 6/19
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?
The nausea hasn't been too bad the past couple days.  I'm still having fatigue, insomnia, gas, bloating, food aversions.  TMI but I now have a very sensitive vag, I guess because of increased blood flow, and can't even have sex because it hurts too much.  :-(
    3. When is your next appointment?
Not until 12/7.  Should be hearing the heartbeat on doppler.
    4. Anything else you'd like to share?
I want to announce at Thanksgiving but I'm still scared that something will go wrong and that's making me nervous about announcing, even though we've had two perfect u/s.
QOTW: What is an unexpected joy about being pregnant so far?
We told our 4 year old DD about the baby, and she is so excited.  She keeps asking if tomorrow is going to be summertime, because I told her that summer is when the baby will be coming.

  • @BWhitta I am so sorry! I've been there and know the pain you're going through. Praying for you.

    1. How far along are you and what is your EDD? I am 6weeks 6days with twins. EDD: July 12, 2016
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?  nausea on and off- mostly when I am hungry, tired or have to go to the bathroom, and between the three of them, its constant lol. I get some breaks of no nausea but I have not gotten sick- so I wont complain! Im tired, im also a little crampy but nothing extreme, just the normal stuff (my paronoid self still gets nervous). I have had some spotting too, all brown. Not the best side effect but apparently it is a side effect that is more common with twins (who knew)
    3. When is your next appointment? Next week. Monday, November 28
    4. Anything else you'd like to share?   We went to the doctor this mornign and heard the babies HEARTBEATS :heart: It was the BEST sound in the whole world! I was so happy to hear them. We recorded it so I can listen to them at home
She of course had to go and tell me that I still have a 10% chance of losing the babies or a baby. I cant help but worry.  I know that those are the normal odds, I know that my odd of losing them were higher a week ago, but becasue she didnt say it, I didnt worry. Hearing her say it, I automatically worry! Ugh- the struggles of IF. I dont want to lose either one of them! Im already a protective mama that just wants to do whatever I can to keep them safe.

ALSO-- She wants me to come off my PIO?!??!?! Im freaking out over that. I do not want to stop taking it yet. SHe told me that the amount of progestrone I am giving myself is nothing compared to what my body should be producing at this point. She said my body will do what it needs to, and if its gonna fail, it will fail with or without the shot. But I STILL do not want to come off yet. When did you all stop? I thought 9-12 weeks was normal? She wants to me stop in 2 days when I am exactly 7 weeks.

QOTW: What is an unexpected joy about being pregnant so far? The side effects! They reassure me that everything is okay. Its so strange, but when my stomach turns because im sitting on the couch and im too lazy to get up and go to the bathroom, it makes me happy to know I still have nausea and that they are still in there!
And the PIO- who would of thought?! The PIO makes me feel safe- its my security blanket. NEVER would have thought that since I was petrified of needles!!

  • @Colleen0516 - I think that's a good idea, especially with the history you have. I have never heard of someone going off at 7 weeks. I think the earliest I have heard someone from a fresh transfer stopping progesterone was around 10 weeks.

  • @Colleen0516 I've actually heard the opposite of what @kelrauh said... usually for an FET you need to stay on PIO longer since you don't ovulate in an FET cycle, meaning you don't produce any progesterone on your own. With a fresh cycle you do go through ovulation so your body will produce progesterone naturally. Still, it seems early to stop it and I think I would do the same thing!

@BWhitta I am SO sorry to hear your update and my heart breaks for you  I hope we see you back here very soon!

    1. How far along are you and what is your EDD? 7 weeks 3 days
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?
Nausea has calmed down a little, although I did lose my entire breakfast this morning trying to swallow pills. Think I might have to give up on my morning coffee :(
    3. When is your next appointment?
First scan is on Friday! So nervous and excited!

QOTW: What is an unexpected joy about being pregnant so far?
I'm also enjoying symptoms as they are reassuring. My partner keeps saying he feels sorry for me because I'm lying on the couch being miserable and I'm like no, I'm lying on the couch exhausted and nauseas but not miserable! Happily sick :)

@Colleen0516 I'm just taking suppositories, not shots, but assuming all is well with my scan on Friday I'll stop after that. That will be 7w6days. Once the placenta is up and running you shouldn't need to take extra progesterone. I still need to get through the scan but I'm also worried about stopping the drugs!

Thanks everyone! I know that the babies should Be producing enough progesterone, but a little more can't hurt them. I would feel so guilty if I stopped and then miscarried.

Im having a crampy, crappy day as It is- I feel weird. Think it's just constipation and hasn't (TMI  ) but still don't liked the feeling. So if I keep feeling like this, I will 100% not stop yet. I crave carbs but I think they may be too much for my body.

  • Hi everyone! Lots of familiar faces over here. This is my first post over here in PAIF... I'm feeling a little, not quite sure what the right word is, anxious... cautious... having a hard time wrapping my head around being pregnant. Just saying the word 'pregnant' makes me feel like I'm going to jinx it. Please tell me you all felt the same thing?

    1. How far along are you and what is your EDD?
    4 weeks + 4 days... EDD is 7/21
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?
    cramping and slight nausea
    3. When is your next appointment?
    12/7 - first ultrasound
    4. Anything else you'd like to share?
We transferred 2 and I'm REALLY hoping for twins.  I'm kind of afraid I'll be disappointed at the ultrasound if there's only one in there.  Any one else have feelings like this?

    Me (31) & DH (31) - married 2008; TTC since 2013

    4 more blastocysts on ice
  • @Monica54321 I'm so happy to see you over here!! Congrats on your BFP! Yes, I do think we all felt the way you are feeling. I was afraid to post over here before my ultrasound but I did anyway because I needed a place to cope with the wait (I had to wait until 7 weeks to get my first scan). It didn't jinx anything! FX for twins in there, but even if you're having a singleton, H&H 9 months to you!

QOTW: What is an unexpected joy about being pregnant so far? The fact that I'm pregnant. It still blows my mind some days that the IUI actually worked this time. I can't wait to meet my bundle of love next summer.
  • Does anyone else see symptoms go away and then return? I feel like some days, I'm sick, nauseous, and exhausted... and the other days I feel fine and I can conquer the world (but there's a ways a tired point). I don't not know if I eat more on those days and that's why I don't feel sick? Or if it's just varying symptoms?... so strange!

  • 1. How far along are you and what is your EDD?  9w 3d  6/24/17
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?  only heartburn now which has gotten worse from a couple weeks ago which went away and came back  :/  a couple days this week i have been on the point of vomiting from the heartburn alone :(
    3. When is your next appointment? Monday
    4. Anything else you'd like to share?  we tell the parents on thanksgiving, i am excited to let the cat out of the bag but nervous since i haven't had an ultrasound in two weeks.  i know the percent is low at the point that something will happen but im still so nervous that everyone will get all excited to be let down a couple days later.

QOTW: What is an unexpected joy about being pregnant so far?  i am trying to enjoy everything knowing how far we have come with IF.  i am surprised pleasantly that i have been eating almost constantly all day every day and haven't gained a pound which is rare for me since the second i let a "diet" slip for a couple days things go downhill fast.

on another note i got the first piece of mail for LO, i was a postcard from Viacord (cord blood banking company) and it was addressed to "Aleea *my last name*"....i dont know where the name came from b/c 1) with my last name i refuse to name my children something that starts with an "A"  2) we dont know what we are having and if anything i would guess its a boy....just a good laugh this evening since we always seem to get odd things in the mail

  • Trigger warning: pessimism

So yesterday all of my symptoms disappeared and I'm feeling kind of resigned to bad news at my scan tomorrow. I've been nauseas every day since before my BFP been exhausted with agonising breast pain (it's made me very grateful I don't have to deal with that every month!). I feel like a fog has cleared and my body feels completely normal and energetic again and I'm not enjoying it at all!  It helps to read about you all having symptoms come and go and I'm still keeping my fingers and toes crossed but I'm also making sure I have something really nice to drink for Thanksgiving if it's bad news.

@rmarble23 That seems a bit off to me that they would send that in the first trimester when people are still trying to keep this private! Also to make up a name?! Could it possibly be that they mucked up your name? Is your name similar to Aleea? Like if you misheard Alisha you might think it was Aleea. I'm grasping at straws, this is just strange!
  • @Nellin Your symptoms going away could mean absolutely nothing. The entire time I've been pregnant my symptoms come and go, and each time I get nervous about it. I'm such a worrier and I have to try hard every day to not let the worry get to me. All worrying does is make us suffer when nothing bad has even happened. It's all in our heads. I know how hard it is though because I struggle with this so much. I keep telling myself that if it's going to be bad news at my next appointment, I'll let the bad feelings in then. But not before.

  • I agree, @Colleen0516, I'm not sure what I would have done without this community to turn to throughout all my TTC struggles. You ladies really helped me stay positive and motivated to get through treatment cycle after treatment cycle, and now the support continues through pregnancy. This place is a God send, and I'm so thankful for each and every one of you!

  • Thank you for the supportive words and sorry for the negativity...my scan was perfect today!
Measuring 8 weeks (I'm 7w6d today) and now as long as this little bean sticks we are done with our RE and IF support! (For the time being anyway).
It was so incredible being able to see that tiny flicker of a heartbeat I wanted to stay there all day!
She said I was the third person this week who has said the same thing about symptoms and had a perfect result. Maybe it's the weather, after months of rain cold and wind it's finally been sunny and warm all week (I'm in the southern hemisphere). Maybe the vitamin d and fresh air has helped - who knows!
I made it to the car before I absolutely broke down, crying so hard I couldn't breathe.
My poor SO was so confused! He was all are you OK? These are happy tears right? Just like my BFP you don't realise how much tension you are carrying until it lifts. I know I'll start worrying again soon but right now I'm happy and relieved!

Anyway happy Thanksgiving! I'm so grateful for this community and for this tiny bean inside me with a flickering heartbeat and tiny arm buds that look like wings. And that I'm not feeling sick so I can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner! :)
  • @nellin so good to hear!!!! Happy your scan went well; seeing the heartbeat is so amazing!

  • @nellin my first name is nothing close to aleea and its not like they accidentally sent it to the wrong place since our last name is VERY obscure so its not like there is an aleea out there b/c chances are very slim.

*tried to submit this yesterday but wouldn't let me due to stupid maintenance again**
