4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share?
Re: PGAL Check In 11/21
1. How far along are you? 23 weeks tomorrow!
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Viability. So close. DH finally felt a little kick, which was the milestone I had been waiting for previously.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I feel so good lately. I have an OB appt on Wednesday and just hoping to learn more about what's coming up for me appointment-wise. It's amazing to look back 10 weeks ago, how scared I was nearly every second of every day. And now I'm starting to feel more positive overall. So thankful for you ladies here, and all the support.
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? We are going to DH's family's Thanksgiving on Thursday since they live in the same town as us, then we travel 3 hours to my mom's house to celebrate with my family this weekend. Can't wait!!!
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? We are planning to have a 3D/4D ultrasound at 28 weeks at a boutique that a friend recommended....just excited to hopefully get a look at my baby girl's face!
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: DH got all his stuff out of his office yesterday (now the nursery) and we got the paint so hopefully this weekend or next we can start painting. Went to the craft store and got some supplies for a couple projects I have planned for the nursery as well. Can't wait to see it all put together....I feel like I am definitely in nesting mode right now! Might as well take advantage of all the energy I have for the moment lol.
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? We usually go to my Mom and step-dad's for the holidays (DH's family lives in Germany and my Dad lives in another state). Last year we had everyone over for Thanksgiving for the first time but since I'm pregnant and feeling lazy I let my mom take the reins again this year which she doesn't mind because she loves to cook!
@jenny0228 One more week to viability, how exciting! So happy your DH got to feel a kick....my DH has felt a few but he is usually too impatient and pulls away before he can feel anything. I am glad you are feeling more positive as well
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? There's been a lot of movement, and DH can even feel her too if the timing is perfectly right, but I'm looking forward to the more distinct kicks and jabs soon as she gets bigger! I have a feeling I will regret requesting that later on... lol
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Thank you all so much for your support last week. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it. I have to remind myself that I will never be "over" my loss and there will always be triggers, but having a community (even an online community) to lean on in those times when I need a little extra support means the world to me. Thank you.
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? The weekend after Thanksgiving we go Christmas tree shopping as a family and decorate our tree. It's a little thing that I look forward to with family in town
What a nice tradition of buying a Christmas tree together- we never had a real tree because I have allergies but maybe one day we will take the risk and get one since I've been on allergy shots past few years.
1. How far along are you? 25+4
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Maternity pictures next month
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: just had a really good weekend in Vegas with my family
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? Going to my moms house and hubbys sister house. No set traditions.

1. How far along are you? Almost 26 weeks.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Well, he kicks a lot now, but always freezes when DH tries to feel... so I think I'm looking forward to him giving dad a good kick.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Last week held the due date of the baby that I lost last March, so I was feeling really depressed and struggled to be thankful for my current rainbow baby because my mind just wanted the other one to have been okay. But DH was great with my sensitive emotions, and the tears were cathartic, and now I am mostly back on track to focusing on growing and loving this little one. I think that day will always be hard (like how I'm always sad on the day my grandma passed away), and that's okay. God willing, my son will have a birthday to celebrate next year and that will go far toward healing my heart.
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? We always do lunch with DH's family and dinner with mine, since they live close enough to travel, but it's still a really hectic day... and I don't get to enjoy all the food properly! I'm hoping that next year we can make some agreement about a Thursday dinner at one place and maybe a pre- or post-Saturday dinner at the other. DH's family is very traditional and never, ever varies their menu, while my family will try new things, like switching between ham or turkey, or trying out different sweet potato recipes or varying the pie options, and so on. Plus my mom and I always put on the same episode of Friends, our very favorite of all the Thanksgiving episodes: the one where Rachel makes a disgusting trifle and Ross/Monica's parents hear everyone's ridiculous confessions yelled out.

@EnglishTeacherMama nice to see an update from you! I am sorry you had a tough time with your loss EDD- I had a loss in March too and even though I am super excited about my LO now, its hard not to think about the one I lost....it will always be a hard day for me but like you said hopefully it will get better with time.
1. How far along are you? 22 weeks 5 days
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Viability at 24 weeks! Please get here!
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Last week I decided to take a break from Facebook and I can't believe how much better I feel! I feel a lot less anxious and my head is finally clear and I've been able to get so much done. I still use other social media but for some reason Facebook just feels like it 'clogs' my brain.
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? We are hosting Thanksgiving. I suppose this had sort of became a tradition in our family since it's our 4th year hosting. I just like it because we don't have to leave the house!
@spartanrd4 I have allergies too, so it's always been a fake tree for us. One year growing up we did get a real tree but it feel down every night and my mom got tired of the mess.
@McDonald-bailey I love Vegas! Glad that you had a nice weekend there.

@JustAnotherUsername16 - I kind of love the big kicks/jabs
1. How far along are you? 24 weeks 4 days
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Just trying to get through these next few weeks and hope my swelling tays minimal/blood pressure optimal.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Feeling baby kick all the time now is pretty exciting. We had a scan today with MFM to check cervix/growth. Baby boy is looking great - the doctor said I have "the longest cervix" she's ever seen. Which is flattering and hilarious. When pressing down though to simulate contractions it does dilate already which it didn't a few weeks ago. She said because of how long it is though I was still in the safe zone. I have been getting braxton hicks contractions pretty frequently - especially while working. She said I need to take it easy and that if I can feel them I need to rest and drink lots of fluids because she is worried about preterm labor. I told her with my job resting isn't exactly doable depending on the night. With my last pregnancy I had severe preeclampsia. I mean I was losing my vision, my blood pressure spiked to 210/160s, my face was swollen to the point I couldn't breathe through my nose, etc. At work I notice my swelling is pretty severe already, and some nights when I feel like garbage my blood pressure is spiking to 140/95ish. It makes me nervous when it happens because like I said - work isn't exactly forgiving. You can't control when you're going to get a pediatric arrest through the door, or a stabbing victim, etc. It is what it is. We're short staffed so help is rare and with our management it won't get better anytime soon. We just lost another four nurses over the past two weeks and another one is leaving next week, another two put in their notice to leave before January. So.. it's stressful. I can't imagine not going on bedrest before this baby comes. My body just doesn't handle pregnancy very well
On the plus side though right now little man is looking great - and he's already close to 1.5lbs!
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? We're going to my inlaws for lunch. Dinner I'll do leftovers with my family maaayyybe. I don't really get along so well with my family so don't want to really stress myself out with it. I have to work six days straight too starting on Thanksgiving so I'm not pushing myself much more than needed. On the up side - I LOVE BEING PREGNANT FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!
Baby #2 - March 2017
@marshmallowfarts FX your blood pressure stays in check as well as your swelling- I am sorry you feel like you can't get the rest you need right now. I work in the medical field too and just thankful that I can take a break and sit at my desk and chart when I need to.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Getting through glucose testing and another ultrasound soon.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I work at two schools; I teach preschool in the morning, and in the afternoon I spend an hour each as an assistant in the third and fifth grade classrooms at another school. On Friday I broke the news to my afternoon classes. Their responses were comical. Lots of name suggestions (some serious, some a little silly), hugs, and confused looks at the ultrasound picture I showed them.
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? My husband's family rotates who hosts each year and this year we are going to his parents' house. Aside from the typical eating, watching football, and the occasional "Black Friday" shopping we don't really have any major Thanksgiving traditions.
Baby Boy: coming March 2017
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? DH has felt baby a couple times. I'm excited for him to be able to feel some big kicks though. And a bigger one, viability.
3. Rants/Raves/Positive Vibes: My mom sold her house that she has lived in the past 18 years. Everything went really fast and she has to be out of the house by the end of the month. She has accumulated so much stuff over the years and is getting stressed over being moved in time. I'm trying to help her as much as possible while avoiding the stress.
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? We are spending this weekend with my family. We'll celebrate Thanksgiving on Friday and Christmas on Saturday. DH's family lives halfway across the country so we'll probably rarely spend holidays with them. My family never had many Thanksgiving traditions, mostly just eating food together:)
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Having DH feel her kick! Last night, I felt her kick my hand a couple of times and quickly placed DH's hand on my belly. She stopped. And so it begins, lol. The great kick chase!
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Rave - Active baby
Rant - Mood swings and bowel issues. Both have made my desire for sex at an all-time low. Historically, DH and I make up by being intimate. He's been forgiving of my low drive but recently I think he's begun to get a bit exasperated. It's just made me feel more guilty. Maybe I'll just invest in a pregnancy-friendly lube.. which for all I know is most lubes.
Also, this time last year I was pregnant. As the date of our loss draws nearer, I can't help but wonder if that's also contributing to my moodiness. Lord knows I have enough to make me moody anyway but I wouldn't be surprised if last year's memories are also haunting me. I was blissfully happy back then, having just had a good 8-week scan. No idea I'd lose that baby in less than a month - a baby that would stop growing shortly after Thanksgiving.
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share?
Two thanksgiving meals this year - one with the in-laws and one with my parents. We've done this for most Thanksgivings. I'm biased, but I prefer my mom's cooking. My MIL isn't a bad cook by any means - although one year she made instant potatoes.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Getting my baby shower all planned. It's giving me such anxiety. My husband has decided he wants a couples shower but that doubles the number of invitees which means the hosts have to spend more $$ which I hate asking them to do. Friends of my husband are hosting so they want to do it, just no one has a large enough house to host a winter party.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: So tired all the time. Can't tell if I'm in a funk or if it's just baby going through a growth spurt. I just have no energy or motivation to get anything done.
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? I just can't get into the holiday this year.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? OB next Tuesday, Fetal cardiologist on Dec 8th to confirm no heart defect tied to the single umbilical artery my little lady has. Also viability & DH feeling all the kicks & flutters I am!
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: We ordered our nursery furniture on Sunday! I am excited but of course it made me have moments of anxiety. I said to DH at least once, what if she dies..... Also, tomorrow is the anniversary of my second loss. I was actively miscarrying still on Thanksgiving. It would definitely be harder to handle if I wasn't where I am now.
4. GTKY: What are your Thanksgiving plans for the holiday? Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions you'd like to share? We are hosting Thanksgiving again. We are having it catered from Wegman's LOL. I slaved cooking last year & said I would never do it again. This is a good compromise. We used to go around the table and all say something we are thankful for. I think the answer this year would be unanimous, the baby. I am somewhat dreading the day because of my Mom'a health. She is still struggling terribly & has more bad days than good ones. She deserves to enjoy herself but I don't think she will mentally allow that to be the case. It's sad. This used to be her favorite holiday. She is surviving one of the worst cancers you can have. It would be great for her to finally enjoy a holiday again. I truly hope she surprises all of us!
