I'm on mobile so I can't gif but just imagine a celebratory weekend gif in there lol. I still feel like crap but at least I don't have to wake up early and go to work! Plus my sister came to see me yesterday and took me shopping which was nice. ...Aside from me having to go a size up on tops and dresses thanks to my boobs and bloat. Plus regular pants aren't fitting me anymore either apparently and Macy's has no plus size maternity section so I'm gonna just wait for Black Friday deals for those.
We're also celebrating H's birthday this weekend since we both have to work on his actual birthday.
Hope you all are having a great Saturday!

My DH and I agreed a couple months ago to help our friend move this weekend. Since I don't want to be lifting heavy things all day, I opted to stay home with our DD while my DH helps. One of the perks of pregnancy I guess, haha.
For real though, I'm working some insane hours this week. I'm just praying to survive and make it through so I can have next week off. @manillabar Have fun celebrating YH's birthday! @MimoCa I'm sorry you're working as well!
We are hosting a bonfire and chili feed for our friends tonight. It should be a good time, but I am soooooo tired. Tomorrow is another day full of laundry and grocery shopping.
Me (K)-27 DH (T)-30 2 Rainbow DDs L-10/26/10 and A-03/27/14 2 Angels- 10/26/09 and 02/03/15 Surprise BFP on 10/25/16!!! Baby Firecracker is due on 07/02/17!
Just got back from seeing Fantastic Beasts with DH and our best friend A. Prior to that A and I went yarn shopping. I sneakily bought some yarn for something baby and then wrapped it with a note telling her get to knitting. Baby coming in July! She was so excited.
Welp. I'm 5+6 and the nausea has hit!! So I'm taking it easy today but we're going to see the Arrival later and go out for Mexican after (hoping tortilla chips and soup will be appealing then...).
@baxgirl Fantastic Beasts is next on my list!! What did you think of it? It's a rainy weekend here so if I can convince MH to see two movies in two days, I hope we can go tomorrow
@Pepper16 - I really enjoyed it! I'm interested to see where it goes since there's going to be 5 movies. But plenty of sweet moments, exciting moments, and a lot of humorous moments too. I am a huge JK Rowling fan so I may be biased a tad...
The 10k we signed up for is tomorrow morning. DH doesn't think I should do it because I've been feeling like crap. I really thought we would just stick to our commitment and push through the race even though it's going to be a high of 36 low of 28, which is colder than it's been all fall so no-one's used to running in those temperatures. Well, the new nanny who was supposed to babysit in the morning left our burner on (no flame) for 3 hours today - so I'm suddenly not too keen on leaving her alone in our house in the morning. So, we cancelled the race and I feel like crap for bailing.
I legitimately have puked during the whole bonfire, so our secret is completely out to our friends!

@manillabar Thank you! I felt a bit better by then and managed to eat a taco and some rice and beans! Victory! But another symptom arrived at the end of the movie when I SOBBED UNCONTROLLABLY and had to wait until the end of the credits before I could breathe again... I usually cry a few happy tears at the end of a good movie, but this was a whole new level. Guess the waterworks have arrived!!

My husband turned 40 on Thursday and I threw him a HUGE surprise party last night! My Apple Watch told me I walked 11,600 steps and I didn't even leave my house all day yesterday! It was so much work setting it up. I had a friend help me remove more than half of our furniture out into my garage so that I could transform our home into a casino! I rented several tables, hired some professional dealers and had it catered with delicious Hawaiian food (my husband was born and raised on Oahu). I also flew his mama out from Hawaii to surprise him! It was AMAZING!!
But today I paid the price. I couldn't even get off the couch today. I took a 2 hour nap, watched 2 movies and somehow managed to walk my dogs down to the park and log a total of 2,000 steps for the entire day! Hahaha. It was worth it, but I don't know that I've ever been so exhausted in my entire life! Tomorrow is my step daughters birthday and we are taking her to an amusement park, hopefully I'll be recovered enough to enjoy myself!

That's such a bummer! All my friends now know, too because MH got a little too tipsy at his party last night and announced it at the top of his lungs! Hahaha oh well, it's nice to have the support this early on. I hope your nausea doesn't last too long!!
Jenn, mama to Big K (6/05) and Little K (5/07) and stepmama to Midde K (11/05)
Hosted my daughters 2nd birthday, and I'm EXHAUSTED!!! It was a smaller (for us) party with only 45 of our closest friends and family members. I had to hide my nausea and sleepiness all damn day. But to see this face at the end of it was totally worth it!
I hate my H's car and want to destroy it. We just spent about $800 fixing it. Guess what now needs another battery (the third in 2 years) and I had to drive 30 minutes away to his office at 9pm last night to jump? Not a happy camper, considering he's the one more worried about money than I am. Apparently it's ok to spend a buttload of money on his POS car but he flips out when I tell him I need to buy maternity pants? *flames*

@lfk2013 I don't understand why you are so upset. Cars need repairs from time to time. Was he driving to or from work? Because spending money on your work transportation is not the same as buying maternity pants in my opinion. I'm not trying to be flippant, I just don't understand being upset at your husband for something outside his control. IDK if I'm missing something, and I'm sorry if I am.
Honestly reading your your post makes me so happy DH and I only share fringe finances (example: the cars are in his name and I make the payment on mine, etc). We don't put our money into one account and then we never feel like we need to be concerned with what the other is spending money on. I literally do NOT care what he spends his money on beyond we agreed while engaged he would handle the house payment and utilities. As long as that promise is kept I am totally cool.
We had my in-laws here yesterday afternoon, but once my FIL fell asleep and MIL took out her book, I said to DH, well, let's get some xmas decorating done! So I sent him to the roof! Good thing too, since now it snowed overnight!
Highly monitored internet and no cell service in the office, so I'm postin' and ghostin' while I'm workin'
@lfk2013 I can totally understand why you would be frustrated!! Has the option of buying/leasing a better (even used!) car been ruled out? I always hate feeling like I'm throwing good money after bad. It can just be such a total false economy in the long run to spend more and more money fixing something clearly broken than just replacing it, not to mention the emotional/relationship toll of the stress of ongoing issues... not sure if that's an option or not, but I'm so sorry you have to deal with that POS car in the meantime
p.s. when you said "flames" I immediately thought of this for some reason:

@Itsnotyourturn - Trust me, I know that cars need maintenance. I've owned cars before. But since we got his car, we have spent at least $8k on repairs, if not more. His car is a 2011 and we got it in 2013. We are still paying off his POS car. For reference, I have a 2007, got it in 2009, and have spent maybe $4k on repairs in the entire time I've had it, and I've used it for both commuting and as a work vehicle, just like my husband. We have even driven our respective cars on similar job sites. Good for you for having completely separate finances from your husband. Unfortunately for us, that would never work. We do still have "personal" accounts, but everything is considered joint to us. Including my student loans. And, honestly, neither of us could survive in the DC area without pooling our finances in this way.
@Pepper16 - It's like you get me. That's one of the most underrated Disney movies. I love it. We've talked about many options for his car, but we're both very trigger-shy when making monetary decisions like this (based on our life experiences). Luckily right now, if his car stops working again, he can take my car (which I'm not a fan of) since I take public transportation to work most of the time. But that would definitely change once it gets hot as Hades (hahaha) around here. I have my FX that we can limp his car along for a little longer (even though I will have some heartburn over spending more $$ on it).

DS was running a fever Tuesday night through early Friday morning with no other symptoms. Was feeling better (and was fever free >24 hours) so we drove to Wyoming to see friends. DS couldn't sleep all night and complaining that is ear hurt. Had to take him to the store at 1:30am to get him ibuprofen for the pain. My husband slept through the whole thing. Took him to urgent care this morning for what I thought was an ear infection. Nope...it's strep! Ugh. I go out of town for work tomorrow and DH is throwing a fit that he is going to have to stay home with him. I'm sorry, I called into work 3 days last week because of his fever! You have to take 1 day off of work! Ugh!
@lfk2013, I feel like I went out of my way to be as nice as possible while conveying my confusion. I apologize if that didn't come across. For the record DH and I live in Seattle, in a neighborhood with pretty high cost of living, so I am not exactly sure the "good for you" comment was meant to sound as condescending as it did or not. I obviously can't speak to your finances, nor was I trying to say you should separate yours. I was merely trying to make conversation in regard to the fact if we had joint finances I feel as though it would cause resentments in my marriage, not yours.
Another finance related vent here. We often go camping and off-roading so we have a few four wheelers but last week husband decides maybe we should see about trading our 4 wheelers in and buying a couple side by sides (significantly more expensive). So today he goes to collect our four-wheelers from the dealership because the dealership won't be able to bring in as much money as we would if we sell them ourselves. While he is down there picking them up he buys a side by side, over a 10k purchase that we had not agreed on and mostly was contingent on selling the four wheelers which we did not. Granted he makes good money and rarely spends it but this should have been a decision I was part of, I would never spend a tenth of that without letting him know.
lfk2013 - at one point my mom put a car on DNR - she said she would only fix brakes and the oil and if something else went wrong it was a goner. Now she's in a better financial state than I am so that's less of a huge deal but...it's always an option.
