many of you have mentioned in posts that you are tracking your hcg levels. This will be a stupid question but....how are you doing that? Did you ask your doctor to track? I just feel like I would feel better if I had evidence things were moving along, you know?
I measured myself by HPTs since doctor refused to order labs after D&C. It took 3 weeks to get a BFN. Every few days it got lighter and it gave me peace of mind.
@BeagleMom34 You should definitely ask your doctor if you want to. Don't be afraid to be your own advocate. If having a couple blood draws to track progress will give you peace of mind, then ask for it. Sorry you find yourself here, but hopefully things move forward for you soon.
@BeagleMom34 When I had my follow up with my NP after my D&E, I asked about checking Hcg levels but she said they usually don't track them unless there are issues or AF doesn't show up after about 6 weeks. She also told me she wouldn't expect my hcg to be down to 0 (or below 5) until 30 days post the D&E so doing HPTs at home probably wouldn't tell me much either (I still POAS anyway!) I had a VVVFL on hpt a few days ago and then got AF the next day (30 days post the D&E) so maybe she was right!
I think sometimes if it is your first pregnancy and there aren't other complications, they don't feel they need to follow too closely... I would definitely mention it to your doctor tomorrow though, especially if it might give you some peace of mind and to at least know you're moving in the right direction.

My doctor checked mine until 0 for my ectopic, but not for my MC in September. She did an u/s the day after and removed a little that was on it's way out. She said there was a little bit of blood left (which took about a week), but said there was no need to track. I took a HPT probably on day 12 after MC (I used miso) and it was negative. I O'd 11 days after MC and AF came on day 24.
