Rank discharge? (TMI)

TMI Notice:

Hey all -
Anyone else having rank discharge as a symptom? It smells putrid and I've had to start wearing pantyliners because there is quite a bit of it.
Tell me I'm not the only one and this is normal? (ie/I don't have to go to the doctor to check on it?)
STM but don't remember this :/

Re: Rank discharge? (TMI)

  • I hate to be the downer here, but my advice would be to go to the doctor and have it checked out. While discharge is normal, any smell, especially foul smelling discharge, is not considered normal. I would definitely put in a call to your nurse. At the very least, they can rule out infections and set your mind at ease.

    I recently had this and I never had it my last pregnancy.  It ended up being a yeast infection. I've never had one in my life until now, so I had no idea! No harm in getting checked!

    @Telus

    Since I have been pregnant, I have had a fair amount of extra discharge and I usually have to wear a panty liner but it doesn't smell any different than my discharge did before getting pregnant. If you have a foul or rank smell I would talk to your doctor or go to a walk-in clinic in the morning.

  • Yeah, my Mayo Clinic book says clear discharge is fine but if it starts to smell get it checked. I agree with an above poster that it's probably just a yeast infection

  • Thanks all... like @BabyBump2 I've never had a yeat infection so there's a good chance that's what it is.

  • It might be bacterial vagenosis if it smells that bad. Go get it checked out ASAP!
