Infant CPR and how to help a choking infant class

i strongly felt like this warrants its own discussion. We took infant CPR and how to help a choking infant class at the hositpal last Sunday. It was a 2 hour class and we got a lot of hands on experience.

It is very different from adult CPR.

I highly highly recommend taking a similar class!!!

Re: Infant CPR and how to help a choking infant class

  • We took this when I was pregnant with my first. They also went over Heimlich and CPR for pregnant women which was also very different than on a non pregnant adult! I'd second this reco.

  • I agree! My paramedic husband is gonna give me the low down on infant CPR soon. It is nice to have someone in the know, ya know? haha
  • We took it with my first LO and I honestly had NO IDEA how different it was. I am still thankful we took the class and will more than likely take it again with these kiddos being 3 1/2 years apart.

  • We're going to take a class in it... I just wish Tricare covered some or all of the classes!

  • We are taking this class next month- it's one of 4 classes that our hospital recommends taking before the baby is born (we are also taking a breastfeeding class, child care class and an all day childbirth workshop).
