    2. How are you feeling? This week has been rough. Threw up for the first time at work on Tuesday, and again when I got home, and to add insult to injury a bunch of blood vessels in my face burst from throwing up and now I'm speckled. I was so exhausted I ended up staying home yesterday, I have a bunch of sick days that I lose at the end of the year so what the heck. Of course since I was home and it wouldn't have been too problematic to be sick I felt fine. Now that I'm back at work I'm nauseous again.

    3. Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope, not until December 6th.

    4. Rants/Raves/Randoms I think DH is feeling guilty about how I'm feeling cause all of a sudden the laundry is getting done at a rapid pace and groceries are being purchased without much involvement from me. I'll take it.

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite holiday movie? Well I usually watch Love Actually a few times during the season. I also love Elf and my family watches Christmas Vacation on Christmas every year.

@berg I'm with you on not knowing how to handle getting sick at work. Luckily the one time I've gotten sick her I got down to the single bathroom on the first floor of my building in time, but I doubt I'll have that much warning every time. I don't know what to do about it.

    2. How are you feeling? Terribly tied and unsexy. This excessive CM is gross.

    3. Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope!

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite holiday movie?
I have a soft spot for watching The Family Stone around Christmas and ugly crying, but I also love Elf and Home Alone.
  • Update: the burrito was delicious.  The fact that I dripped salsa and queso dip on my silk dress was not ideal.  Sigh.

    2. How are you feeling? Better than week 8 which was pure hell, but it comes in waves.  Some days I feel OK and others I go back to feeling crappy.  At least it isn't everyday now!  I'll take it.  The intense food aversions are just really killing my diet and I feel like a tub!

    3. Anyone have an appointment this week? I had my first OB appointment Tuesday.  Saw LO, had blood draw for panorama and setup my NT scan.

    4. Rants/Raves/Randoms  It doesn't feel like Thanksgiving is next week, but I'm beyond words excited.  The holidays are my favorite time of year and I deck out my house the day after Thanksgiving. DD turned 1 yesterday and it has been hitting me all day that I have two toddlers in my house.  My little baby isn't so much a baby anymore.

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite holiday movie?  Hands down Scrooge (the 1970 version with Albert Finney).  My Mom and I always used to watch it during Christmas and I plan to start the tradition with my kids.  I love the songs, the version just EVERYTHING!

    2. How are you feeling? Tired

    3. Anyone have an appointment this week? Two this coming Monday (regular OB and high risk)

    4. Rants/Raves/Randoms: I have been feeling down lately (anxious and just people suck) so I decorated for Christmas. And I suddenly feel much better.

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite holiday movie? A Muppet's Christmas Carol, Love Actually, The Grinch, Charlie Brown'a Christmas Tree. I'm a child.

Oh, but I've never seen a Christmas Story.

Edit: had to add that last tidbit

  • @delujm0 I'm glad you enjoyed your burrito, because I don't think I could go near one right now! Except for queso, I could eat allllllll of that.

@Elyse1384 I feel like you are my symptom spirit animal. The nausea so far this week has been way better than earlier weeks but it still comes in waves (which is better than constantly!) Food adversions are still very real and the fatigue is starting to hit. We're getting there though!

    2. How are you feeling?

Alright for the most part. I'm tired a lot and still get nausea but it comes in spurts compared to earlier weeks, which is nice.

    3. Anyone have an appointment this week?
First trimester screen on December 9th (at 12 weeks!)

    4. Rants/Raves/Randoms
I found out the best news yesterday: a friend of mine who has been TTC for 5 years is finally out of the first trimester! I am so so excited for her, she'll be such a great mom.

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite holiday movie?
Easily The Santa Clause; it's a tradition in my family to watch it every Christmas Eve. DH has a tradition to watch A Christmas Story on Christmas. Before DH I had never even seen the movie (just like you @Mother0fDragons !)
  • @swanbrooner I always got geekily excited for every Christmas episode of the office.

@berg The outtakes from that episode - especially Kevin (Brian B) sitting on Michael's (Steve c) lap - are PRICELESS!  Also, I used that exact line to my colleagues to describe DD's birthday yesterday since I was sick and a major party pooper.

Thanks guys... now I'm busting out my Office DVDs on what is to be an unproductive work from home afternoon.

    2. How are you feeling? like crap today. I don't think I missed my b6/doxylamine last night but maybe I did because I'm so nauseous this morning. Otherwise exhausted. And anxious.

    3. Anyone have an appointment this week? I had one on Tuesday. I brought DH (my first visit was a quick one at 6w bc I was sick) and was all excited for him to see the baby but the ultrasound was so shitty it looked even more like just a blob than usual. we saw the FCA so that's the ultimate blessing, but he was a little disappointed.

    4. Rants/Raves/Randoms Not much!! Looking forward to my 4 day weekend next weekend :)

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite holiday movie? the original Grinch!

  • @sevenn oh I forgot about the original Grinch!!!  That's a good one too.
  • 1. How far along are you? 11 weeks

    2. How are you feeling? Pretty good. I'm still struggling with bloating, constipation, fatigue and some breast tenderness. And food aversions/cravings haven't really eased up yet. Nausea is better at least. Overall I feel pretty good. Oh and I wake up all through the night with lower pain back now. I assumed that since I had a bad lower back pre-pregnancy it would catch up with me. I just thought it would take longer.

    3. Anyone have an appointment this week? My next appointment isn't till 11/22

    4. Rants/Raves/Randoms I'm freaking excited to only have 2 more weeks till the 2nd trimester. And I only have to take progesterone for 1 more week which is great because my nausea really kicks in after I take it twice a day. I'm so ready to be done taking it!

My rant is that I keep reading about how certain lipsticks and other makeup are bad during pregnancy. Same for nail polish. I'd just recently finally found some red lipstick I really love and now I find out I probably shouldn't use it because of trace amounts of lead? Ugh. So now I feel like I have to do the responsible, overly cautious thing and switch my lipstick and nail polish for more natural, safer options.

    5. GTKY: What's your favorite holiday movie? Oh this is a tough one. I'm not actually sure. I usually get a good laugh out of the home alone movies.

  • @NamelessAria wait wait wait... nail polish??  Do you know which ones?  *please don't say Essie, please don't say Essie*

@berg Essie is apparently "3 free" which, it seems, is barely acceptable. There are also brands that are "5 free," "7-free" and "9 free." And it seems the ideal nail polishes are water based. I didn't even know that was a thing. And I thought "5 free" was a good as it gets. Shows what I know I guess.

Here is the article that popped up on my app about it. From there I did my own research.

I was glad to see that Essie is at least acceptable since I love Essie. The application is usually great and the color selection is amazing. I may pick up one or two of the Zoya polishes since they're "5 free." Or I may just go full overly cautious hippy and get one of the water based polishes to see how they work. Decisions!

ETA: Here is an article from safe cosmetics on all things beauty related and pregnancy.

  • @NamelessAria thank you so much!!!  Now I have something to read about on lunch.  Pretty much every polish I own is Essie, so phew!  And while I haven't painted my nails since I got a BFP (just out of laziness), just last night DH and I were discussing how I should paint them.  They are actually growing and aren't brittle.  It's amazing.  I even had to cut some down yesterday.  I've never had to do that before.  Thanks kid for giving me good nails.  Now if you could just improve on the MS and extreme exhaustion, we'd be all set.
