My blood pressure has ranged from the higher end (150/80) to normal (120/80) throughout my pregnancy. Every time I come in for a BP recheck, it's a perfect 120/80 but sometimes at appointments, especially ultrasound appointments, it's higher. One of the doctors at my practice is worried about me developing pre-eclampsia and said I probably won't go all the way to my due date. I know I shouldn't worry but it's so hard not to. She said as long as I don't have any sudden swelling or feel "off," I'm okay. I go in for a growth scan on Friday to make sure the placenta still looks good and Baby is growing. Because it is an ultrasound appointment, I already know my BP is going to be high, worrying me more. Anyone else dealing with possible pre-eclampsia?
Re: Possibility of Induction to Avoid Pre-Eclampsia?
I was having higher ( but still normal) BP at my appointments and getting lower side of normal at home with my at home BP monitor (FSA account purchase.. lol). I asked them about it and they requested a different machine and it made my BP the same as I saw at home. it never hurts to ask.
I ended up with pre-e last pregnancy, so it is a concern and my doctor has mentioned a couple of times that I may not go to my due date. I was induced at 37 weeks, with onset being at 36 weeks. Breathe though! Being nervous about it will definitely not help lower your bp. It's good they're monitoring you just to be on the safe side.
I've been put on modified bed rest for the next 6 weeks with weekly check ups to keep an eye on me.
