  • @Assiram42 I just died laughing at the way you described that. I work in a cube farm too and I could totally picture it. So sorry that happened to you!

Today I was chatting with my supervisor and we were in my cubicle, I started to smell something awful and I could see on her face she smelled it too and was thinking I farted. It smelled of rotten eggs, it was awful. And then it happened, I couldn't hold it in, I started heaving and peeing. Our bathrooms are too far away for me to make it, and I work in a cube farm, I'm just puking and peeing right in my cube.

    How embarrassing!

Our support division came over and they think it's a dead animal or a sewer leak. Great. Oh and everyone said it smelled the strongest in my cube. FML.

How can anyone top this??? I'm so sorry.  I hope your supervisor knows you are pregnant.

  • My students started asking other teachers if I was pregnant this week. I feel more justified in my feeling that I have more of a little bump than just blump now!
  • @swanbrooner I had another teacher ask one of my best friends at work if I was the other day.  Made me happy it looks somewhat like a bump and less like I ate too much cake.

  • Have any 2time+ mom's busted out their Snoogles yet? I'll be 12 weeks on Saturday and I got mine out today and washed the pillowcase. After the workout it took getting the pillowcase on I now feel like I deserve to hog up most of the bed with it lol
  • @doodleoodle heck yes!! I've found my uterus is super sore and "bulky" in my pelvis already, so I've been using it for 2 weeks now. Husband is less than impressed

@Mother0fDragons I love that! My 12 month old is no longer wanting to snuggle most of the time. I'm jealous! Although I do understand the struggle of trying to sleep on a regular basis next to a baby. It can be rough.

@halfthetree I hear ya on the bulky pelvis. I'm already uncomfortable laying on my back or stomach.

I got a regular body pillow when I was pregnant two years ago and it's never left the bed haha.  it makes my lower back less painful just all the time.  this time around we at least have a king size bed though!  I just replaced the old one with a new one.
  • I forgot second breakfast today.  Thankfully we had left over croissants from our Thanksgiving potluck still here. It was amazing.

  • @Assiram42  I am so sorry that happened to you, but you gave me a good laugh this morning reading it!

The body pillow is definitely already out... and I'm only 6-7 weeks?!  I'll know for sure at my appointment Tuesday.

I am so tired, and I am really sucking at my job right now.  Being a teacher and being pregnant is super difficult.  The energy and enthusiasm it takes to keep kids attention all day is exhausting........

  • @Assiram42 I'm so sorry, but I just snorted laughing at your story.  Now I feel bad.
  • I am such a Floridian. It is 67 in my house and I'm about to turn the heat on.
  • I am SURE I am not the only one who can smell EVERYTHING...

Some of my students don't have the best home lives.  Now that cold weather is hitting, they are coming to school in big coats/jackets/sweaters that REEK of body odor, animal urine, smoke, etc...  It is to the point that if they're sitting at a table in my small group, I feel nauseous, and with one in particular the smell is so strong I almost gagged.  I love these babies... I would never want them to feel bad, or know that I even noticed.  It is going to be a looooong school year.

  • I'm freaking out a little bit and would love some reassurance. I'm a newbie to this whole pregnancy thing and I've had a cold with awful congestion for a few days now. I could've sworn that tylenol cold and flu was safe for pregnancy (I feel like it was on my safe list given to me by my doctor but I can't find that list now). Instead of taking tylenol cold and flu, I just took phenylephrine because all I wanted was the nasal decongestant (which is what is in tylenol cold and flu). Well, after doing some research (trust me, I KNOW I should have researched before taking, I was just desperate and feeling awful so it didn't occur to me) I learned that phenylephrine isn't safe for pregnancy.

I can't be the only pregnant lady who has taken a medication that she shouldn't have... right? I emailed my doctor and she said fortunately I'm past the stage of major organ development (which occurs weeks 6-10) and also no studies have been conclusive on decongestants, although it is a good idea to avoid them anyway. She said to just take saline nasal spray if I need something. I'm still worrying though and hoping I didn't harm my baby!

Has this happened to anyone else on here? Just curious. Being sick while pregnant is horrible! :scream:

  • @wifeinraleigh28 When I was pregnant early on with my DD and didn't know, I was having a lot of severe headaches (stemming from some sinus problems) and I was taking a significant amount of ibuprofen every day. And she came out just fine.
  • I found out at the doctor yesterday that I have a tilted uterus. This is the first time I've ever been told this, so I'm not sure if it was front facing before or the doctors just didn't mention it. I've been having a good amount of back pain which I've seen can be from having the tilted uterus but also keeps me worried. Has anyone else experienced this?
  • @wifeinraleigh28 please don't beat yourself up. I have done plenty of things that later on I found out "aren't safe for pregnancy!" Or there are controversial reports if it is or isn't (i.e I had wine in my 3rd tri with both boys) They might be on the list for a million different reasons and doesn't necessarily mean miscarriage or harm to baby. You didn't overdose on the stuff. There is so much scary crap out there for pregnant women and new moms. How did the older generations survive?!? Lol!

There was a thread about this a few days ago you might want to look at. I have this too and just found it. I never knew with my first pregnancy and had no complications and a complete med free/no intervention labor and delivery with no issues. Around 12 weeks when your uterus moves up you may be a little crampy. Otherwise I was told its not a concern.
  • @mombod @LMMama I was told mine is tilted forward and that's why I feel every twinge and cramp strongly. Made me feel a little better because all these cramps were giving me major anxiety.

@LMMama I was told during an ultrasound before I got pregnant that I have tilted uterus.  It was not a problem during my first pregnancy although I did have a lot of back pain and sciatic pain.  I honestly didn't even think that the two would be related but I guess it could make sense.  I currently am 11 weeks and my lower back and sciatic nerve have been acting up.  I'll be honest and say that I have not done any research on it though....just figured it was another one of those AWESOME pregnancy side effects. lol
  • Just threw up in my car a little bit ago so I'm doing swell. Trying to figure out where to dispose of my bag o' barf
  • so i have a dilemma...please dont judge ...if you haven't heard NKOTB is touring again next summer...well of course they come to my area exactly two weeks after my EDD.  My sister and I have been to every show in our adult lives.  do I get tickets and plan on going and hope that the baby doesn't come two weeks late or just say this year isn't my year and the baby is much more important as I will be a brand new mom anyways with all the chaos?

I would buy the tickets. But that's just me. At least you have them and can sell them if needed. I'm planning on going in my area as well. But it's in May!

I went to a wedding 8 days after my first was born. I've had friends who couldn't leave for a month. You never know. But it's NKOTB, you'll find a way!

I probably wouldn't plan on going because you just have no idea how you'll feel. You may regret not buying tickets or you may be relieved you didn't waste the money. Postpartum hormones had me feeling crazy. I didn't want to leave my daughter's side for even a minute. I was in total hermit mode for a good two months after my daughter was born. I planned on having a pain medication free birth, but ended up having an emergency c-section and at 2 weeks post birth was still hobbling around in pain.

If you can afford to, buy the tickets.  If you're up to it, you get to go.  If not, you can try to resell or just eat the cost.

If it's a financial hurdle to buy them then don't, but if it won't break the bank or you have an active local Craigslist, then go for it.

Girl, buy tickets, see how the baby thing plays out and how you feel. Go if you feel up to it, sell if you don't.

    Donnie 4 lyfe!
  • @rmarble23 buy them.  You will have zero problems selling those Fenway tickets if you can't go for whatever reason.  I was contemplating getting tickets myself, but I'm due 6/30 or 7/1 (the Dr keeps going back and forth,  not like it makes a big difference) and that's cutting it a little too close if I go late or anything.

  • Random question... for 2nd time moms or those that have ever needed a transfusion.

Anyone have to get a transfusion after birth or surgery?

Last pregnancy/birth, I had to get 4 units... it killed me inside to have to take on the risk but my doctor said I needed it after a seizure like episode while still at the hospital revealed I had lost too much blood.

This time around, we are looking to have my husband bank blood for me (he's O+ and I'm B+) as we doubt that anyone would let me do it for myself while pregnant.  Has anyone done this?  Maybe not for birth/pregnancy but other surgery as well?
  • @michaela0704 what are your concerns. I have never had a transfusion but son has. He had to have a major surgery at 2 years old. They warned us he might need it and parents weren't allowed to donate, so my brother did. He ended up needing it during the surgery. Everything went well. He is fine now.

I did not have a good experience with the donation center but that's a whole different story. It all worked out in the end.
  • Ok ladies need a recommendation. I need a new monitor bc our motorola video monitor sucked so bad it may or may not have broken in several pieces from being thrown. I am looking for a dual camera with video and sound. One camera for toddler room, one for new babys room. It doesnt need to be wifi capable. I specifically do not want it to have heart rate/breathing monitors bc that stuff stresses me out more than calms me down. I dont want to spend more than $200 but I want something that will last. i didnt like the motorola bc it would randomly beep in the night for no reason and the video feed would freeze. Any reccomendations are greatly appreciated.
