Re: Weekly Symptoms Check In - 11/14/16

  • CS is scheduled in 7 days and I've been dealing with insomnia almost every night for a week now. It seems cruel that in my last few days as a free woman who can sleep as much as she'd like, I'm not able to :(

Also: BH constantly, restless arm syndrome at night (main reason why I can't sleep), itchy belly (driving me insane), swelling, carpel tunnel, return of bachne, emotional swings (this is new).

I'm 38 weeks today, and to think if she flipped head down this could go on for another 3 1/2 weeks terrifies me. I am hoping she stays breech so this can all end... I feel guilty saying it, considering it took a while to conceive plus we want more kids, but I hate being pregnant!! Or I hate being THIS pregnant.

    7 days. Rant over.

  • I'm 38 weeks too, 3cm dilated as per OB last week and have been losing MP. I'm uncomfortable and ready for him to be born but also increasingly anxious and scared of delivery and recovery :( it just seems so surreal that it'll all happen within the next week or two, I don't know how to calm my nerves! Any suggestions?

  • 38 weeks 2 days today. I seem to have inconsistent contractions during the day that stop once I'm asleep. My pubic bone hurts terribly once I stand up from sitting for more than 5 min. Most days I'm up before 5:00 am. The urge to pee is usually unbearable by the time I wake up and once I get up to go I can't go back to sleep. I wake up with terrible cramps in my lower back but those subside once I'm up and moving around. I'm just ready to not be pregnant anymore and to meet our little girl
  • I'm at 39 + 4and experiencing contractions throughout the day and not at all at night like @squish143. I'm also getting a little peeved with still being pregnant because I am so tired of hearing people ask me where the baby is. Because i had my first one at 39+1 everyone is treating me like I'm overdue when in reality, I could be induced as late as Black Friday (which DH only just realized and looked so sad). But because I didn't think i'd still be pregnant, I'm hesitant to go out and really do anything (I usually swim) for fear of going into labor, but I can't just sit around and wait. My body hurts and swimming feels so good, so I think I'm going to risk having a pool baby today.

I'd definitely go swim! Do whatever feels good, mentally or physically. My induction just got set for Black Friday though I can shop in the morning haha

  • Yes @SandNStarsNJ, go swim! I wish I had the energy but any activity at all shoots my heart rate up to like 200. Worst case scenario you don't notice your water break, but contractions or other labour symptoms would soon follow. Do what feels right!

  • @MrsMaryK2016 This meme is exactly why I'm scheduling a haircut, haha! My hair is currently a lil past elbow length (you can see in my photo)—there's no way i can keep it all with baby girl. :s

    - Fatigue is so real lately even though my insomnia has thankfully let up a little.
    - Nighttime peeing is so frustrating but my body is kind of on the same schedule nightly, and I've been able to fall asleep quicker than before.
    - Been able to stay pretty active, but had to stop aerobics about halfway through class on Sunday and had to sit a couple of minutes during body pump last night.
    - Bad lightning crotch Sunday night, but nothing since! The regularly lightning pain on Sunday shook me a bit—ow!—because it made me realize how greatly I am underestimating contractions and labor pain. (I haven't had BH at all, so I'm really in for a rude awakening......)

    38 + 2. Eager, but I have a feeling that I've got a while ago.
  • I'm with you all on the aches and pains. Back just started aching again, well it never went away but the pain is definitely stronger. I am 38+3 this is my last week of work as I am just too exhausted to keep going. I started getting the text messages and phone calls from family and friends asking me if there are any signs of labor. I just have BH throughout the day but not painful. I did lose my mucus plug (not bloody) but that is about it. See what my dr tells me Thursday when I go in. I am not at the point where I am DONE lol but I am getting there. I can't stand the waddles and how difficult it is to get dressed, in and out of bed, and doing simple things like reaching for my phone charger agh! That I am done with.

Just had my 38 week check up. I'm so crampy and my back aches. Other than that, guess I'm just mentally ready to be done.
  • Tons of pelvic pressure and I had completely forgotten that lightning crotch was even a thing until this week.  I'm 38 weeks today.  Went in for a growth ultrasound this morning--they said she's approx 7lb13oz right now which is 86th percentile.  I have a feeling my doc may want to induce a little early.

  • Thanks @kvruns and @prettypalomino. I went swimming, which felt great in the moment, though now I'm a little sore. No momemtum towards a labor though!

  • Has anyone else who delivered noticed a lot of leg swelling? I didn't have much with my other 3 and I'm 4 days out and I look ridiculous. cankles doesn't even begin to describe it... I don't know if retaining this much fluid is normal? was going to call ob but don't know if I should care yet or not. I've only lost about 4lbs since delivery also. frustrated.
  • @leighry were you hooked up to any kind of IV? I haven't delivered yet but with my first I was induced and had a ton of swelling for at least a week because of all the fluids they pumped into me. Just a thought.
  • @rspalding001 yes I was! my pressure was super low with my epidural and even though I felt fine I feel like they bolused me with a few liters. I didn't even think of that. that makes me feel a little better.
  • @leighry yes!! For about a week after. My ankles and feet swelled so much it hurt to stand up and even my slippers wouldn't fit. It's normal if you were given fluids and takes about a week to go away.
  • I appear to have woken up sick. I stop working at a public school and suddenly have a wicked cough, some kind of wonky eye, and the sniffles. What the hell...

  • @SandNStarsNJ I've been fighting a mild cold the last few days as well. Hoping it's gone before baby decides to make her arrival. Hope you're feeling better soon!
  • Thanks @squish143. I hope you are on the mend as well. With my first, I had flu-like symptoms a few days before labor, so perhaps it will be a blessing in disguise again.

  • @MrsMaryK2016 not gonna say that there's nothing to worry about, but a planned c-section is a way different ballgame than an emergency. It's relaxed and peaceful vs being rushed and worried. You're in capable hands and you'll do just fine.

  • Thanks guys! I'm super emotional today which I think is because my whole life is about change tomorrow and even though it's for the best reason, I'm still feeling anxious. I know it will be fine, just not sure I'll sleep tonight lol

  • @MrsMaryK2016 good luck tomorrow! Try not to over think it. Yes your life will change but I promise it's the most AMAZING change :)

  • Good luck tomorrow,  @MrsMaryK2016

I hoisted myself out of bed to pee in the middle of the night,  and did something to my back/insides.   I was in serious pain and awake for an hour and a half,  and today it still hurts a lot.   I have an appt this afternoon,  and I'm glad because I can be checked out.   But I was planning on saying yes to a sweep finally,  and now I'm feeling nervous about that bc I am already in so much pain.

  • I have another cold/sinus infection due to a drastic change in the weather...not a pregnancy symptom, but it sure makes me not want to go into labor right now. I'm already going to be "uncomfortable"!
