@ThePax89 It was so awful. I can only imagine how bad it is postpartum. I remember telling H that if god-forbid I ever have to go through that again, that is the one thing that I would do differently.
@cjs260 I'm sure it's soooo different for every person but my post partum bleeding was waaaaay lighter than my miscarriage bleeding was. My loss was like 8-9 weeks of HEAVY bleeding, post partum was like a week of heavy bleeding followed by 5 weeks of sorta/kinda/I need a pad, but could survive without one bleeding.

Same here; no loss to compare it to but my PP bleeding after DD was born wasn't bad after a week. I was very swollen and sore though, and I had hemorrhoids for about 8 weeks, yuck. Praying that they won't be as bad this time.
When do work places typically have you fill out maternity leave paperwork? I tried when I was around 20 weeks, but that was too early. Then the HR person who handles it was out due to medical reasons for over a month. She just came back last week and I approached her again today about filling it out, but she said I should wait in case I end up going on bed rest. I assured her that, as of now, everything has progressed fine and my MW hasn't mentioned any reason for me to go on bed rest (and wouldn't I need this paper work in sooner if I were concerned about needing to go on bed rest?) She said I would have the paper work before the end of the year....My due date is Jan. 1st...so that's cutting it really close...

Children are like casseroles; it takes a lot to mess them up.
@PMForbie probably depends on your workplace and how organized their HR are. I'm a FTM but from talking to friends, there seems to be a lot of variation. At my work they aim to send paperwork 2 months before the due date, but I checked with them yesterday and they'd somehow forgotten to put me on the list. Probably doesn't hurt for you to keep bugging them about your paperwork!
Possibly TMI here, but as our due dates are getting closer, did any of you trim or full shave down there? I am getting mixed research that hospitals don't care, but in case of a tear or c section, I would rather be prepared than have one of the nurses do it for me (eeek!). Plus it'll be a mess down there postpartum, so maybe at least a trim will keep it more hygienic? I normally full shave but I haven't bothered since September, when I couldn't see what I was doing and stopped going to the beach.
I have been wondering the same thing! I honestly can't even remember when I was able to see down there without a mirror...and I'm sure I haven't groomed since we got pregnant. I'm not and fan of the bumps either but some witch hazel may help. I am thinking about trimming before going into labor. I'm 33Weeks+1Day now and have been having Braxton Hicks so I'm thinking I may need to venture down there sooner than later. I've never waxed before though and to be frank it's always scared me lol but and null power to those who do it!
@PMForbie my employer asked for notice at least 4 weeks prior to the first date of leave if I was filling out the FMLA form. My other option was just having a Drs note stating I'm pregnant and will be advised to be on leave from this date to this date. I thought the Drs note option seemed sketch, but ended up going that route and submitting 3 weeks prior to leave Since HR assured me they'd accept it and fill out my forms.
