Reciprocal IVF

Re: Reciprocal IVF

  • @mommamommy&me DW and I are just doing straight up IVF but as things are not going very well for us we are considering reciprocal IVF.  Wishing you the best of luck!

  • Hi!  We're doing this!  We are going to be prepared for a fresh transfer, if we only get one or two embryos, but if we get three or more, we'll do genetic testing, so that means a frozen transfer later down the line.  But we're both on birth control right now.  My wife just turned 38, and I'm 39, so we've got the challenge of being a little old.  My wife is having the egg retrieval, and I'll carry.

One thing that would be amazing, if this works, is that we're using a known sperm donor-- my brother!  So with his genetic contribution, and my wife's eggs, we might get a kiddo who's a little like both of us.

We have tried many times with my eggs, but my ovaries are too old and tired.  So all fingers crossed that my wife's ovaries are perky!
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science

    7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
