How big is baby? a blueberry, or a tic tac!
Upcoming appointments this week? none this week, US next week!
Any new symptoms or changes? the vomiting started last night and my throat is so sore now!
Rants/Raves/Questions? For ladies whose morning sickness has started to worsen, how are you hiding it at work? I'm afraid my secret's gonna be out this week if I can't keep anything down
GTKY: What was your favorite bedtime story/book as a child? There are a lot, but one of my faves was The Velveteen Rabbit! I actually bought it again in college because I couldn't find my old copy anymore. So now it's here ready for me to read it to our little one someday...

I am sorry your throat is sore! Since I have no personal experience / advice to offer I searched online and found this article. Other articles said sucking on peppermint candies or gum and eating saltines.

How big is baby? Blueberry
Upcoming appointments this week? None.
Any new symptoms or changes? I'm starting to feel like I'm going to miscarry again, so of course I'm over analyzing everything going on with my body.
Rants/Raves/Questions? This week has been crazy busy, haven't been able to keep up over here so I'm feeling out of the loop lol!
GTKY: What was your favorite bedtime story/book as a child? I loved Go Dog Go.
@Bonbonpaw I'm so sorry you're feeling stressed and anxious - thinking so many positive thoughts for you!
How far along are you? 5 weeks
How big is baby? Peppercorn (jealous of the blueberries above me here
Upcoming appointments this week? Not until 12/1, but might call the doctor this week to talk about some abdominal discomfort on my right side (see below)
Any new symptoms or changes? I've been diagnosed with cysts on my ovaries in the past and I'm worried about one on my right side: there's this kind of persistent discomfort/twingy feeling there that was increasing before I got pregnant and I want to make sure it's nothing to worry about if it is a cyst. (*TW: Because it was happening before pregnancy, I've had this in the past, and my wonfos have been darkening like crazy from my first bfp, I'm not super concerned about an ectopic pregnancy but obviously also want to rule this out, too). Other than that I've just started to feel more pregnant if that makes sense? The fatigue, bloating, and gas feel a bit worse, but it's just more a general "my body feels different" sense.
Rants/Raves/Questions? See above - anyone have experience with cysts during pregnancy? How concerned should I be?
GTKY: What was your favorite bedtime story/book as a child? So many great ones! Goodnight Moon was probably my favorite - I loved looking for the mouse on every page

@Pepper16 - Hopefully it is not a cyst and just your body adjusting to being pregnant but if it is a cyst it should be okay. ""If a functional ovarian cyst is found during pregnancy, it won't usually cause you or your baby any problems at all.""

How big is baby? An appleseed or an orange seed based on two different apps (or as I see above me - a peppercorn)
Upcoming appointments this week? Waiting to hear my official blood test results. Should have those tomorrow. I don't have an appointment until December 12th. They do first appointments between 8-10 weeks and my Dr. is out during my 8th week so we're in the 9th. We will get an ultrasound then though so that's really exciting.
Any new symptoms or changes? Well I'm new here so I've been exhausted and having intermittent nausea since before I could get a BFP to show so that's not new to me. Boobs have started to feel sore and heavy this week. I already have large boobs so those being more of a problem is not exciting to me.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Anybody reading pregnancy books or have some they recommend? I got the may Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy and a book for DH and one about helping our dog adjust (she's high energy). I'd love more options (also - cats...not sure how our cat is going to respond so tips there or books suggestions would be great. Although I think he knows I'm pregnant. He is generally a cuddler by my face or in my armpit (he's weird) and he has suddenly become a tummy cuddler)
GTKY: What was your favorite bedtime story/book as a child? I don't remember many from when I was little but Charlotte's Web was a favorite. I listened to the book on tape going to be most nights and had the book memorized for a long time.

Crazy animals know so quickly when something is new. The dog has been weird and WAY more cuddly with me than DH (she loves him and is okay with me). Cat has always loved me most but he's just showing it differently now. I saw a book on Amazon called "Tell Your Cat You're Pregnant" - I'm pretty sure he already knows.
Also, there's a thread in the 1st Trimester board where people suggested some books: https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12693064/book-recommendations#latest

How big is baby? The size of a pea.
Upcoming appointments this week? Nada. I'll have another US next week.
Any new symptoms or changes? So much nausea.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I equally can't wait to tell people about this pregnancy and don't want to ever tell. All of our friends already have kids so it would be nice to relate but I know they're going to be giving unsolicited advice.
GTKY: What was your favorite bedtime story/book as a child? I don't think I had one? I remember a lot of Dr Seuss around the house though.
How big is baby? Blueberry!
Upcoming appointments this week? Tuesday morning! Can't wait to see our little bean!
Any new symptoms or changes? I need to eat all the time! If I don't, hello nausea. But, if I eat too much, or too quick, hello nausea. Basically it's hit or miss.
Rants/Raves/Questions? So far so good!
GTKY: What was your favorite bedtime story/book as a child?
my happy boy
1. 6 weeks
2. Size of a pea?
3. Wednesday I get an ultrasound!
4. Constant nausea, still have sore breasts.
5. I'm grateful for the symptoms and feeling like everything is going well so far, but I really just want to hibernate until the nausea passes!
6. I have so many favorites, always loved Virginia Lee Burton stories.
@Bonbonpaw so sorry for all the uncertainty you are feeling. My fingers remained crossed for you that your baby stays in there for another 33 (or so) weeks!
@Pepper16 food poisoning is a good one! I also tend to get migraines that sometimes cause me to vomit so I could probably use that once or twice lol. In reply to your question, I don't really have personal experience with ovarian cysts, however you should mention it to your doctor. They may want to do an ultrasound just to get an idea of the size (in which case maybe you'll see the baby sooner!) and depending on the size they would decide the next steps. Based on what I have heard, they will likely opt for close monitoring unless the cyst is really huge, however your doctor would be able to lay those steps out for you better, of course.
@baxgirl, I forgot about Charlotte's web! That's a good one
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert I feel you on wanting to tell and not wanting to at the same time. I kinda like that's its our little secret (plus our families) but I also wanna tell EVERYONE
@mslynn2012 and @lilyaster I'm jealous of your ultrasounds this week! I hope they both go well

How big is baby? Blueberry!
Upcoming appointments this week? First meeting and blood draw with my OB nurse. My beta appts thus far have been with my fertility nurses.
Any new symptoms or changes? Pretty much the same - hungry all the time, sore boobs, sore back, exhausted. My head aches are better since my nurse suggested a daily combo of magnesium and riboflavin (B2).
Rants/Raves/Questions? We've only shared the news with 3 people because of our history. But I'm having a really hard time not accidentally mentioning it in passing during my day to day conversations! I'm usually very good at keeping secrets and I'm not like busting at the seams to share. I just keep catching myself almost saying something.
GTKY: What was your favorite bedtime story/book as a child? I don't remember any particular favorite. But what I really liked was listing to books on tapes at bed time (like the little kids read along stories) when I was old enough to run the tape player on my own.

Upcoming appointments this week? none yet!
Any new symptoms or changes? just sore boobs, mild nausea, weepiness and fatigue--I feel like I walk 10 steps and need a nap!
Rants/Raves/Questions? got a little steamed by a judgmental friend when I mentioned wanting to use a midwife
GTKY: What was your favorite bedtime story/book as a child? I also loved The Velveteen Rabbit! It still makes me cry. The original Angelina Ballerina was another favorite, and Blueberries for Sal.
